- Noted journalist Rubika Liyaquat made a name for herself in the field of TV journalism with her fiery style of anchoring news bulletins. Whether in Zee TV or now in ABP News she continues with the same style of picking up contentious topics and getting all sides of the debate on her shows. Rubika does on-the-ground reporting and is often criticized for editorialising news. She is active on social media where true to her style, her posts are fearless and bold. Being a progressive Muslim woman professional, she finds herself at odds with those who want to box her in. In a candid interview with Smita Prakash, Rubika talks about her life, her family and her reason for becoming a journalist. She speaks her mind on the Hijab controversy and other issues related to the Muslim community. She, without hesitation, shares about her struggle to break stereotypes and explains the many trials she had to go through.

@@punam5978 LORD KRSNA'S FOOLISH DRUNKEN WIVES ARE READY TO COMMIT INCEST WITH HIS SON (SAMBA)
Samba's mischief and that of the women combine here in one neat episode: he misbehaves with them. Thus the destruction of the race of the Yadus (Yadavas) is blamed on Krsna's wives, on Krsna's son, and on the rage of Krsna himself:
"One day Narada came to Dvaraka to see Krsna. All the Yadu boys received him with respect, but Samba, proud of his young beauty and deluded by the fated, inevitable force of the curse, disregarded Narada. To teach Samba a lesson, Narada told Krsna that all of Krsna's sixteen thousand wives were in love with Samba. Samba (Krsna's son) was summoned, and the women, whose minds were blurred by wine, showed unmistakable signs of passion when Samba appeared. Furious, Krsna cursed them to be carried off by barbarians after his death, and he cursed Samba to be afflicted with leprosy. Therefore the women were carried away under the very eyes of Arjuna. Later, Samba remembered what had happened before, and as he was impelled by inevitable fate, he enraged the sage Durvasas and prompted the curse that destroyed his whole family." -- Samba Purana 3:6-55; Bhavisya Purana 1:72-73.
@@punam5978 LOW-CASTES SHOULD HAVE GARBAGE NAMES
Hinduism teaches that Sudras are trash & should be named accordingly:
"The Namadheya (naming-rite) must be performed as soon as the term of impurity (caused by the birth of the child) is over. (The name to be chosen should be) auspicious in the case of a Brahmana; Indicating power in the case of a Ksatriya; Indicating wealth in the case of a Vaisya; Indicating contempt in the case of a Sudra." -- Visnusmrti 27:5-9.

Alhamdolillah I have born and raised in progressive Indian Muslim family, which gave me wings to fly and become a doctor . No one wears hijab or burqa in my family but alhamdolillah we all practice Islam in it's original form. All females in my family are well educated working decent females. Thanks to the progressive nature of our male members in the family be he my father, my brother or my maternal grand father. Sad to say my paternal family was conventional conservative family but still hijab was never forced on any women.
Education is the best weapon especially for women to be free like a bird and make a families outlook change for the good.
My 83 year young Mom is an example
The problem is some progressive Muslims present hijab/burqa as a choice rather than a regressive practice. Although That may be easy to proclaim in a democratic country like India or in west, but they forget about little girls in Afghanistan, Iran, rural Pakistan and many other Islamic countries, where it is not a choice..
Rubika is not just a journalist but in reality one of the best sociologists India has produced, this is just mind blowing interview, thank you Smita for bringing this to us

I always avoided programs and debates that was anchored by Rubika. I never watched a single programs of hers. Just recently Iwatched Smita Prakash on internet and because of the genuine quality of her interviews I became curious about Rubika Liyaquat Ali. I grew up in Delhi where You could have President's granddaughter in my class as well as President's chuprasi daughter in my class. I had girls coming to school from homes of Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs. I have an old photograph of my father when he studied in Goverment College lahore. In the photograph my father is three of his best friends., one of them Christian, the other Sikh and one Muslim. My mother tied rakhi to Sagar Nizami, a national poet who wrote two famous ghazals sung by Master Madan. This is my background as a refugee in Delhi from Gujranwala in Pakistan in 1947.
Now watching Smita's interviewing Rubika makes me feel abundantly happy . it is a real pleasure to know you both and I will be watching your programs with great pleasure. May God bless you both and may you grow from strength to strength.I am just about your grief on losing your Mum's passing away. Just remember her with gratitude that she was part of your life. Just think of those who never experienced the love of mother. I am lucky my children gave me motherhood. I married a widower who died within six weeks of my marriage. I raised two children aged just four and ten as a single parent. I feel blessed.
I am moving towards my eigth decade and have had a rich life and continue to do so.
Lovely show! Enjoyed watching both...esp. Rubika's experiences, journey and life snippets. Bless you both!🥰🥰🥰 Hats off to Rubika on her comment 02:05:50 ❤

We enjoyed the diversity and learned from each other without any reservations. I would like to see that golden period returning in India before I die.
Even in pakistan and bangladesh?
It's moving to see that how, Rubika's mother after completing PhD kept her thesis at her father's feet. That's what understanding each other's sacrifices and support. Appreciating each other. This happens only when two normal healthy mindsets come together and commit for each other.
Rubika Liyaquat is a new age, intelligent journo & is proud Nationalist. Kudos & more power to her!

I simply loved listening to Rubika. I was sitting in rapt attention in awe of her. She is the new age firebrand who is an inspiration not only to the girl child of her kuom but also to each and every girl in the Country. Behind every successful man there's a woman, but in her case it is a man,her father. Her father too is a source of inspiration to every father of a girl child , to be the wind beneath their wings. My father too would always tell us his children to do what we thought was right and not listen or worry about what people would say. It is the right kind of grounding to give children and make them strong in their thinking.
Thank you Smitha for this conversation.
Please bring Smita Prakash too on your show. We would love to listen to her and get to know her growth and success story. I'm serious.

Such a delight to watch two of my favourite people talking .... Rubika is a very sorted human being ... She has the clarity of thought that's why her views make a lot of sense ... She is the kind of person we need as a role model ...
Lubika , I am presently 58 yrs and I am in forces and has been a child of the parents in forces. I remember as a child in 1975 we had one Aunty who was ANSARI from Bihar , she would wear sindoor . As per the understanding we has we just happened to to talk to her and she explained that at our place we get married with si door only. So when listening to the podcast I realised that she was following her kabila tradition.
A great insight into the problem associated with hardliners in any religion.
Rubika and Smita, What a special show!! This talk has done SO many things for us, but most of all, increased my love, trust and respect for my Muslim brothers and sisters. I live in a colony of Muslim army families, who I respect and adore. I worry about the dialogue and the flavour of Islam that is emerging .... Not what we grew up with, this is new and divisive! The candor and pride in her roots Rubika brings to the conversation is refreshing! Well done! I do wish desperately for more of your tribe and more power to you!❤❤

Rubika Liaquat ... She was stunning... The ideal personality and a good human being and she is the inspiration to all of us... And i want to say that if all people think and behave like her .. then heaven is on the earth... I really hats of to her... She is doing really good work...
Smita I follow this podcast. You are bringing great personalities and thinkers for interview, which enhance knowledge and information. My respect to you.
Though I am from Nepal, i really love how rubika conduct the show, she is against the extremism of any religion ....i have seen replying to maolanas of her faith and also the pandits and sadhus who talk non sense. I find her liberal practitioner.... and strongly stand for more education to muslims children rather than politicizing it .. specially i liked her stand on tripple Talak & Burka at schools.. You are doing just great
Smita, I loved every guest speaker you’ve invited so far! I don’t watch ABP, so I haven’t seen much of Rubika’s reporting. But, she earned my respect after this interview!
Same here , I know rubika but don't watch ABP, zee or Aaj Tak.
This girl and her family have proven that why education is more important.
Well educated family definitely bring their children in a right manner.
I really like this interview of Rubika.
Rubikaji, Mera namaste as 1 human being to another.
Loved your attitude and all your talk. What resonated was when you spoke of your stint at the hospital when your mom was in ICU. Exactly similar circumstances of mine, when dad was in icu and I was the only sibling, fortunately or unfortunately there for him because my elder brother and elder sister along with my mom were in another hospital being treated for covid.
It has been 3 years now but still many times as u said, Iam still in that ICU and I want validation from my Mom and my Dr. friends that I did whatever I could for Dad. However that guilt factor still remains. So, I understand what you said, perfectly.
God Bless you and carry on the good work that you have been doing .
From 12:30 to 15:30 absolutely true story of every person who is an "outsider" to the "English-speaking liberal elite" of our country and considers Hindi to be the dominant medium of communication among Indians. This is primarily the reason why such elites have a problem with Narendra Modi. He speaks English in desi accent. Whereas the elites have not yet come out of the colonial hangover and believe that only a person who can speak English like an Englishman should rule over this country. They forget that the British Raj ended in 1947 and then again in 2014.
The characteristic of a fine interview is that the viewer, at the end, feels that s/he has come to "know" the interviewee. Smitaji got Rubika comfortable enough with professional competence and natural warmth, to let the public up close and personal....And Rubika did full justice to that opportunity.🙏🌾
Thanks so much for this particular podcast Smita Ji,
Most eye opening❤🙏🤲
I don't see often Television but knowing about Rubika through your channel has filled me for pride for her and it's my dream that every woman become like her enlightened and empowered and be assets to our great Nation my salute to her Jai shri Krishna and Jai Hind LtCol Man Mohan Bisht kangra
Great to hear Rubikaji in a different studio. Wish many women like her gets into mainstream media in the male dominated world. Wish Rubikaji many years to hold herself.
Smitha Mam... in this world of journalism where if one is hounded the other don't care /just enjoys the scene, you are getting everyone in your faculty across that Raw Wood Table (which I am a fan 🥰). Respect 🙏🏼
What an inspiring Rubica - one who crosses the Rubicon in so many ways! Thank you Smita Prakash for eliciting such awesome context from this young Muslim lady who made me (a Hindu Jan Sanghi refugee from Kashmir) remember the diamonds 💎 of Wonderful Muslim friends I left back in India. आँखों में आँसू आ गये!
Thanks Smita & thanks Rubica. India & Modi ji & Bharat are blessed to have women like you 🙏🏻🙏🏻 - Israel 🇮🇱 ki bhi yaad aa gayee 🇮🇳🇺🇸
