The Glycemic Index is essentially how fast the sugar effects your blood glucose levels. So it's not an indicator of the amount of sugars, but the quality of the sugar. Complex starches could have larger overall sugars while they affect your blood glucose levels more slowly. Watermelon is all very simple sugars which are quickly absorbed. A slice of bread has the amount of carbs comparable to a jolly rancher, but the time it takes to break them down is what makes the candy unhealthy. I just wanted to mention that a little bit of watermelon won't throw off your diet, as long as you don't have a whole bunch at once then your blood sugar will be okay :)
And I'm the diabetic that will eat a whole watermelon in one sitting 😂
@quinnzelreign8775 Fruit is definitely the hardest sugar for me to give up. I don't care about candy or sugary drinks (ice water is my go to drink anyway), but fruit?!? I LOVE green grapes, granny smith apples, pineapple tidbits, watermelon, strawberries, those lil cutie orange things (so much quicker to peel lol) .... If I could just eat fruit all day, I would.

I have a combo you should try then because it sounds like we like the same things. This isn't even a pregnancy craving, it's my favorite snack and everyone thinks it's so weird until they try it. It's the jalapeno kettle chips (the super crunchy ones) and I dip them in sour cream. So good!

Great day to watch this video... Hot Cheetos and cream cheese! Awesome 420 snack!!! Ro, you need to try jalepeno jelly. It's so good. And add Reese's Pieces to the popcorn. Or during Halloween add candy corn... I know it sounds disgusting but I love candy corn in popcorn. It's a great way to eat it and it really cuts the sweetness out.

Not pregnant, and haven’t been pregnant before - but these are my weird snacks: PB&Strawberry J with bbq chips yummm. Then in recent years, I’ve taken takis chips and rolled them up fruit roll-ups SO good.
The weirdest one has to be the mustard and Twinkie’s, but the pb&j with pasta just triggered some core memories. With just some peanut butter as a base add soy sauce, a little bit of sugar, green onions, and some boiled water to melt everything and mix it up, then mix it well with some any noodles, my childhood favorite.
