DEADBOLT APPRECIATION GANG
So basically the story goes like this:
You are a Reaper. You live in this sort of limbic plane between our world and the afterlife where people who for example die from overdose, commit suicide etc go (they manifest as different creatures like zombies and vampires depending on how they die). You work for this entity called the Flames and your job is to "kill" the dead a second time, which helps them ascend to the real afterlife. After a few normal missions you stumble upon an unknown drug and it only goes downwards from then.

Fun fact, the man Chris himself said the entire deadbolt soundtrack has a bit that is supposed to be the "reapers theme" somewhere in it. He didn't start with it when making the soundtrack, but when he finally had a "reapers theme" he would go back to any piece and incorporate it somewhere in that track.
Also, deadbolt is great, and I would love to see more.

Deadbolt's OST is just way too good man.
Blood on the Dancefloor, the song used in that opening trailer, is my favorite song from the game, but others include Undead Man Walkin' and Reaped by Death. There's also The Proverbial Dustbiters, Werner and Klaus, Dies Irae, honestly the whole damn soundtrack is great. My one complaint with it is that it all kinda, just, sounds the same? He _really_ drives that one particular leitmotif home in most of the tracks and it, gets old after a while, for me. The songs themselves are still great, though.
I've actually never played the game itself, I just love the music lol
Ashes to Ashes, to Ashes(to Ashes) is also great
I recommend also listening to Ashes to Ashes to Ashes (to Ashes). It is one of the most chill pieces of final boss music I have ever heard

Oh wow, this is a surprise! DEADBOLT has been a game I've adored since its demo, I remember youtube to mp3-ing the OST to put on my phone back in high school. Just found out it had a vinyl release last night and picked it up, so the timing on this video is amazing to me!

I forgot it had such great music...or that it was from the same devs as Risk of Rain, for that matter XD (and I played all those games since back in the day). That felt good :) I guess you could picture the reaper like that, yeah...even a bit stoic, perhaps, if my memory serves me right

I believe the story of deadbolt is you are like a detective hunting down all traces of a new and powerful drug that makes undead feel alive again and it makes them want to stay in the real world. It’s been a while since I played deadbolt so don’t quote me lol.
Pretty much spot on bar you aren't a detective. You are the grim reaper and you've gotta collect the undead because it's past their time.
It feels like a mix of Hotline Miami, Breaking Bad and Supernatural

@@kennybust The difference between Deadbolt and Hotline Miami is that in Hotline Miami you die in one hit but so do the enemies, in Deadbolt you die in one hit but boy oh boy some of the bad guys are like brick walls. Other than that, you're pretty spot on

This game is just a pure gem to me, also i think my brain wiped the ending from my memory to protect me i just remember a very bittersweet feeling and feeling bad for a skeleton

Great to see Deadbolt content out there! One minor correction - the music that plays in the Reaper's apartment is Now I Am Become Death. Reaper and Blues is played in two of the zombie levels. Each faction has a specific musical style associated with it - the Zombie Kingz have jazzy, blues type stuff like this and Defunktorum™. The Thousand Year Royals (vampires) have synthy, electric nightclub music like the track you heard in the trailer, Blood on the Dancefloor. The Dredged (skeletons) I don't have too good a pin on, but they tend to include guitars and are fairly chill as a whole. Finally, the demons have fast-paced, hard hitting rock (I think) tracks.
If you do any more reactions to this game's music, my personal favourite is the final boss' theme - Ashes to Ashes, to Ashes (to Ashes). It has a ton of emotion poured into it.
I haven't played the game but I stumbled upon the soundtrack through the track "Undead Man Walkin'". It's beyond amazing and such a journey of a track to listen to; a proper emotional roller coaster. I wish you had covered it in this video.😅

I love this game as much as I hate its trailer. Why was Blood on the dancefloor chosen? The slogan "Don't open the door" would suit the game. And her trailer would suit Hemolysis. Just with editing to the beat of the track.
The enormous potential was simply missed.
Luckily, the trailer doesn't make the game or its soundtrack bad.
I was introduced to the game through the OST. Spotify gave me the track Undead Man Walkin' which got me curious enough to find the game and I was immediately hooked. Immediately became one of my top indie game recommendations, one of my favorite soundtracks everything. One track I think it would be great to see your take on would be Ashes to Ashes, to Ashes (to Ashes) which is the final level/boss theme. Figured i'd give that heads up in case you wanted to go into the game with fewer spoilers. Loving your content great stuff!

Every song from that game gives the feeling of watching a stage play. If you want a good sample of it, check out the song Tarantula.
Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee check out some songs from Mili (especially Lament)or songs from Library of Ruina and Limbus Company. She has such amazing vocals and her lyrics, especially those related to those games as they are JAM packed with literary references and deeper meanings that are somewhat uncovered by the themes themselves. I think you will have a lot of fun dissecting those themes :).
