Finally, someone explained hybrid inverters to me in a simple way. I'm much grateful for this. The production value of your videos are consistent and solid. Thank you for your service to humanity.
I just one installed at my home in Pakistan and no one here explained it as simply as you did. Kudos!
i just had one fitted in my home in Pakistan. But i wasnt too sure on what the hybrid part meant but this video has cleared that up for me. Thank you.
Thanks so much for the info, now I get the real difference between off-grid and hybrid inverters.
One quick question please, given that I have this Fusion/Deye inverter on 5KW, how many of FREEDOM WON E-TOWER 5KW LITHIUM BATTERY can I stack up?
Glad you got some value out video!
I’m not sure about how many Freedom won’s you can stack but they should tell you on the datasheet, it will say how many you can parallel 👍
Great, informative vid, loved the outtakes at the end.
Thanks, so many mistakes lol
Thanks for the useful info. Just started looking into solar power generation for our home. I tend to take info in a lot better with pictures and diagrams instead of explanations. It would be helpful if you could show visually when explaining things like grid, inverter, battery vs panel etc. connections and how they interlink.
Thanks for the feedback, we’ll do a full system animation with working parts on future videos.
Ok, thx for the advice. When you usually type in yt everything I mentioned, 100s of videos will come up about them
Hi nice post...what is your view of the hybrid Five Star 8kva inverter
Great content Thank you SOLAR Advice
Hi. Thanks for the videos. I started out recently with only backup power using a 2.4 KVa inverter with x2 12V 200Ah batteries. Now I want to connect it to solar, but my Crystal Inverter says Pmax 206W does this mean I can only connect a 260W panel?
I’m assuming that is PV Max, it’s very low at 206W (or 260W), you’re right that it is a 260W panel in that case.
Hi, thanks for the info
Can you recommend me some more brands of hybrid solar inverter that has blending technology like you mentioned
We have something coming soon 👍
Hi Sir
I have a question about hybrid inverters. I have currently a inverter Fronius Symo 6.0-3-M, but wants to add a large battery to my solar. The battery will be a homemade with a capacity of 60-62kWh. Which hybrid inverters are suitable (recommenable) to manage a non fabric battery system and how do I select the right one?
Thx a lot for all your efforts sir. The best hybrid inverter just hit the market about a month ago. You won't even need a combiner box. It's called the EG4 18K-PV. This thing is just unbeatable.
I'm sure they are good but they don't sell them here in South Africa, they are for the American market where the voltage is different. Thanks for the compliment.
@@solaradvice thx a lot sir, I didn't know they weren't available in your area. I'm sorry about that. When you know someone coming from America in your area, they can bring you good ones. The best are #1 - EG4 18K-PV, #2 - Schneider XW Pro 6848 and Solark 15K is #3 some think #3 is #2 (these are the 3 best hybrid inverters & the #4 is Growatt) when you follow Dave Poz or Will prowse, you can learn a lot from them. They have lot of videos on yt. I hope I gave you something to guide you however little and have a nice weekend!
@@jacquesdutron9954 I've watched quite a few of Will's videos, I agree they're great. Thank you for sharing, it's always nice to add to the community! Take it easy!
@@solaradvice anytime Bud!
Thank you.Very helpful video.
Thanks for the info. How many battery bank are you using and can you run this inverter 24/7 ?
Hi, my inverter run 24/7, all the power for the house runs through the inverter.
Beautifully done!! Thanks for the video
I have got a question. How do you design a Solar PV system that supplies a DC load by taking power from Grid? It uses a rectifier for the conversion. It has got battery bank connected after the rectifier. Will it work if I just connect the PV to the DC bus through a charge controller?
I’ve never used a rectifier but if you have DC power and the power doesn’t exceed the DC input then in theory that should work. You could also convert it to AC and use the AC input too, I know this works for AC generators and inverters, sorry I can’t help much with that one.
@@solaradvice No worries. Thank you.
Given that the rating is 5kv , let’s say I need more more kv , so does it have a limit in pulling power from grid?
Yes, it’s limited by your inverter size, it’s important to get one that’s larger than what you would normally need in case of extra household consumption
Can anybody tell me of an electronics shop that can fix hybrid inverters like the PowMr 10.2?
I reviewed your website. Do you offer any of the Hybrid Inverter/Chargers for use in the US ?? Thanks!
Hi, I’m the US I believe they call such inverters grid-tied with battery backup, check out Sol-Ark inverters 👍
I have a 8kva hybrid Sunsynk inverter. How does the inverter handle a load higher than 8000wat? Recently my breaker at the DB board that the inverter is connected to tripped that I was not expecting. I understood that hybrid inverter would just go fetch the difference power from Grid vs the inverter capacity limit to match the higher load. So just wondering what I would I should of expected to see the inverter do.
The Sunsynk is a Deye inverter just rebranded, both can handle 10kW temporary throughput but this is only temporary, if your inverter reaches a load of 8kW then that is your limit, this includes whatever is pulled from the grid, so it tripping was correct, what size breaker do you have and what was the total load at the time?
@@solaradvice So you saying a hybrid inverter is not designed to shift the load to be fetch from the grid when the load goes above the inverter's capacity?
It was for a small amount time. Probably less than 5min before it tripped if I log at my sunsynk loger app.
Also there is no fault error on the inverter.
It is a 63A M.E.S CDL7 range breaker.
Interesting enough the breaker does not trip when I move the inverter to grid to inverter change over switch to the grid.
However it keeps tripping when I move change over switch back to the inverter - even with load is less than 500watt.
@@Skip2MiLuu you can check this datasheet which is a 8kW, the Deye, Fusion and Sunsynk hardware are all the same: solaradvice.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Fusion2-8kw-datasheet-02.pdf Max AC output power is rated at 8800W for the 8kW and if you check the Peak Power (off-grid) it states "2 times of rated power, 10s", running any inverter over it's rated output basically puts strain on it thus shortening it's lifespan. I would keep loads under 8kW to prolong it's lifespan to be safe. We put 50A breakers in our boxes, this is our favoured size.
@@solaradvice I aware of the datasheet of the inverter. I believe you not understanding my specific question.
Let me ask it again using a more specific example scenario.
I understand that my interver is limited to only being able to supply it rated load of 8000w and 2 times its rated power for 10 seconds. However my understanding was that in a scenario of a load of 9000w a "hybrid" inverter would intelligently only supply 8000w of its rated power (or what it is set to supply) and the additional 1000w would "pass through" the inverter coming directly from the grid.
So is my understanding on how a "hybrid" inverter manages a higher than rated loads incorrect?
@@Skip2MiLuu Ok I understand what you are after, thanks for that example. I've never heard of an extra pass-through limit like this before, the limit as we've seen it is a combined limit so in your case that 9000w is going over that. We always stuck to the limits, the same is said for the PV side, you can run slightly higher voltages but we don't advise it as it can void the warranty if the manufacturer sees that it was used beyond it's limits. Hope that helps.
Thank you
great video.
Add Jakiper battery to you product list and review list
My hybrid inverter doesn't charge from mains..... Battery remains same % level till the next sunrise with mains on... Why?
are these available for sale in any other countries like the United States and Canada?
They should be, some companies refer to them as self-consumption or on-grid with battery
I'm alittle late but yes these are available in other countries. This particular hybrid inverter is a copy of a Deye hybrid inverted maybe it's even the same thing just with different branding.
Thanks for the info, 1 question, Please i would like to ask, in hybrid inverter do you really need a battery or does it have an inbuilt battery??
Sure, you need a battery backup but some can't still work directly without batteries during the sunshine period.
Thanks.
Sounds good.
Interesting videos Niel! How long is the manufacturer's warranty, and most of all who's the manufacturer?
Thanks! Typically a Hybrid inverter comes with a 5 year warranty, these can sometimes be extended 👍
@@solaradvice thanks for the reply. I will email you.
Is the AC connection to the grid bi-directional or just 1 way, in?
The grid is a single bi-directional cable and the hybrid inverter controls the direction of it, there is a component called a CT clamp that basically prevents the feedback from happening if don’t want to feedback. At the moment in SA the grid can’t handle the feedback so we use CT clamp on our installs.
@@solaradvice - what I meant to ask was being connected to the grid when the batteries are full will it feed power back to the electric utility company crediting you?
@@dargall1 the batteries won’t feedback, only the PV. But also you need to arrange with municipality in order to get credit from the feedback.
Hey I found your video very helpful and easy to understand, also it would be great if u add some visuals to explain it and the machine off some more to make it more visually interesting 🤓
hi
i have 2 inverters infinisolar hybrid 5600 on-off grid, when it works parallel the error comes up under number 72 can you tell me how can I solve this problem
thx
What does it say in the manual? Under error codes

what is the cost USD?
At the moment (Jan 2023) they’re going for $1500 for a 5KW retail
How to configure hybrid inverter
get another mic, try to structure it in a different way like resuming the tech-specs.. walking thru the elements that you know in detail, etc. overall good presentation. thx for the content.
hybrid means no additional battery required ?
Hi, you do need a battery, you can run it without making it a "Grid-Tied" but it wasn't build with that in mind.
❤❤❤
So if one of mppt broke, then no problem, the second one is built in!
Lol you could look at it like that, 1 for backup, I’m actually not sure they are independent like that…
that is deye from china.,...a very good inverter..
Best selling inverter in SA at the moment
You always talk and do not show hands-on illustration. We want to see practical illustrations.
Here’s a video that’s all illustration explaining the difference between hybrid and off-grid czcams.com/video/2ewK69xBF2o/video.html
This is just a black Deye hybrid inverter..
Yes correct
Is Deye any good compared to the other chinese brands like Growatt, Huawei, Sungrow..
@@ACPilot sorry I don’t know enough about any of these brands to give an opinion. Most of the time they’re all made with minimal QC using the same parts
