I really appreciate you showing some destinations that are off the beaten path. By the time I retire, I'm sure the famous locations will be more than I can afford. But places like Jamay look perfectly acceptable and pleasant. I appreciate your insight into the region, and showing us these little gems.

@@JerryBrownTravels Thanks for your reply! I will be looking for towns in the interior of Mexico at higher elevations. I just can't take the heat of the coast, but who knows how I will feel when I am older! I started looking around Jalisco and Guadalajara for the climate. That's how I found your videos. Another issue I'm looking for is community, a place that's easy to meet people. That never comes across well in a video. But I've seen your videos about expat associations in Ajijic, so I am hopeful about that area.

Great to see ! When we started researching Mexico, we eliminated Lake Chapala, San Miguel de Allende, etc because of all of the expats living there. We wanted a more Mexican experience. We speak Spanish and have lived abroad before in Costa Rica and Nicaragua. We did not want to pay high expat prices either. Great video !

Jerry you hit the nail on the head with this video.I've been saying this for years there are many beautiful small little towns/cities all over Mexico where you can live a quiet and tranquil good life without breaking the bank. The further you get away from touristy and expat areas. However if you want to be around other English speaking people and in expat and touristy areas that's also ok you just may have to pay a little more .

What a beautiful, very well kept town. If I had only taken Spanish in High School. I'm wondering if a translator would work, I think so. In our hotel in Florida there was a fellow working at the hotel that did just that, he was Hispanic and I thought it was great. The only thing is the location is very nice and I'd say the prices will soon be too high for me.

Looks wonderful! Thank you for sharing. When we come for 3 months in February, we will definitely visit here. We speak Spanish, so think we will really enjoy it. Last year we spent some time in Mezcala and took the boat over to the island with the fort. We were the only ones there. Visited the museum there in Mezcala and had a great connection with the guide. Want to return and visit the painted rocks up on the hillside. Please keep doing day trips from Chapala area. There are so many wonderful places to explore. I so appreciate you both. Keep on traveling…perhaps do a day trip to Mazamitla or Tapalpa. Both places were wonderful day trips for us. I think your viewers would love to see it…
