      Thanks! I ordered the kit from china, found it on eBay and then had to do the import etc that I mentioned. The kit had a lot of issues, but nothing I couldn’t fix as a first timer. I’d rather have to cut off a mounting tabs going in the wrong direction and remake my own than pay an extra £1000 or more.

    Hi Buddy,
    Planning to go widebody. What's your wheel and tire spec in both front and rear? does it rub in the front when full turn? Thank you for your help!

    • @KingandTitanRacing
      @KingandTitanRacing  Před 11 měsíci

      Hi Vince, sorry for the slow reply, I wanted to be with the car to double check for you and have been travelling a lot recently. The wheels are 17” all round with Michelin PS4s on. That’s a great tyre for track and road, I use them on my Vantage as well.
      Rears are 17”x9” with an ET of 25. They’re a perfect fit with the widebody. I did try 10” but they were too wide in the end.
      Front I’m using a custom billeted bolt on 50mm spacer and 17”x7.5” with an ET40 offset. They do rub a tiny bit on the weld in the wheel arch but you can hammer that flat without cutting it. Just paint over any scratches and then under seal the arch.
      Hope that’s helpful, sorry for the delay.

      Thanks! I used a kit from a company based in China who was selling through eBay. I put a link in the description but it no longer works so I guess they’ve stopped selling them. From a design perspective it’s a copy of the APR kit.

  • @twrcrew8852
    @twrcrew8852 Před 8 měsíci +1

    wait, why would you put sealant over all the panels? doesn't that defeat the purpose of the MR-S having un-boltable panels 360 degrees around the car for ultimate serviceability when you need to scrape rust off the frame or tend to repairs easier than any other monocoque in existence?

    • @KingandTitanRacing
      @KingandTitanRacing  Před 8 měsíci

      Yeah that’s a great benefit of the MR2 but when you widebody the reality is the production of the kit just isn’t as good as factory. I just used the sealant to fill the slight gaps to the edges of the panels I wouldn’t want to remove. Skirts and 3/4 panels. Bonnets and bumpers are on/off all the time. Thankfully mine hasn’t got any rust on it and then I did the under seal anyway as an extra precaution.

    • @twrcrew8852
      @twrcrew8852 Před 8 měsíci

      @@KingandTitanRacing i feel that normalizes the car a bit. One deciding factor for me to purchase an ZZW30 over the SW20 was the removable rear panels that are otherwise permanent/ common rust spot on japanese cars. at least it's still virtually possible when you get crashed into/ struck by grandma's door at market. even if you must remove extra sealant.

    • @KingandTitanRacing
      @KingandTitanRacing  Před 2 lety

      This is a copy of the APR kit, there’s a few companies that do those as the originals are very rare. I got this one from EBay and imported from China but the seller doesn’t do them anymore. I got one of the last tho they had in stock and it looks like they’ve not produced anymore. These kits can cost anything between £1500 and £8000 just for the kit depending into he material. All in this build has been under 17K to date and all that’s left to do is the engine swap. So it depends what you’re after. When this is finished it will be a 400 BHP monster and the budget will have come to around 20K.

      We’ll see with use, have had good reports from other builds on this one and the bonnet we did has stood up to a good few road tests. Not ideal but the only solution on hand. It’s bonded really well to the kit which is encouraging.

    • @KingandTitanRacing
      @KingandTitanRacing  Před 2 lety

      @@andy2906 ha, I know what you mean. Filler does have a chunky weight to it. Overall I’m happy with the weighty of the bumpers though, still not notably heavy. And that filler has been sanded back many times so the finished product is probably close to 2/3 of an inch.
