Car SOS 300HP Vauxhall Cavalier Turbo! *SUICIDE DOORS?!*

- What a day this was! We got invited down by Darren to have a look around his Vauxhall Cavalier Turbo, but this is no ordinary Cavalier, this is the Cavalier the Car SOS team got their hands on and modified it to have suicide doors so Darren could ride in his dream car again, after his accident 14 years ago. Was an absolute pleasure to meet Darren and amazing to see the work Ric Wood and the Car SOS team has done to help Darren experience his Vauxhall Cavalier Turbo once again! Soon we will be taking Darren down the 1/4 mile to see what his car can really do, stay tuned!

This was probably Car SOS's most unique build.The engineering behind the building was really cool to watch, from how they design it in CAD.To making their crazy idea work. I wonder if at any point they thought they might've bitten off more than they could chew. To think they did everything in 6 weeks,like wow.Hats off to the people that made it possible.
The badges that are fitted on the wrong side of the trunk made me laugh.
Thanks it's my car, and is now debadged, and I think that they were a few headaches and sleepless nights, but I couldn't be happier

I had the adsatly the same car even the same colour loved the car.bought at 2 years old.aroud 95/96.Makes me smile fond memories , longest I've ever kept a car had it over 4 years.

I was involved in the building of the cabs for the film 28 days later and yeah, what you see on camera vs what you can get away with in real life is quite significant. Here's a fun fact, in the scene where the cab drives over all the other vehicles in the tunnel, it really did do that!
The stunt cab had wider tyres fitted along with skis welded underneath and all of the cars it drove over were wrapped in a metal mesh like that green coated metal fencing used in the UK to give it a flatish surface to bridge the gaps between roofs which was edited out from the footage.

The best SOS I have ever seen.
Great channel , glad I've subscribed , the engineering on this car is on another level . A disabled friend of mine started building a suicide door conversion on a mk 5 golf to carry his mobility scooter sadly he never finished it .
This is the best thing CAR SOS has done. Amazing job. So happy for Darren. 👍👍👍

The mechanism is just like fj cruiser. I watch that episode and it's probably one of the most amazing Car SOS episode out the others because of that modification.

Fantastic car! As for the leaking on an XE, I have had my XE leak free for 15 years now, and I know exactly all the points where they can leak and know how to address that. It really isn't necessary.

The calibra 4x4 turbos were animals aswell as the cav turbo and the red top corsas which gsi was a corsa B if I'm right?

WoW that's a nice mk3 Cavy c20let I always wanted to get Suicide doors on my cavy but no one would do it for me I've sill got my mk3 Cavy c20xe had it for over 20 years now
With the values flying up on mk3 Cavaliers I would leave it standard

They ruined this car don't know if the guy would be happy or not
But when the owner passes the car on i cant see how it will fit any other owner unless they slso have the same disability. Chopping a B post out for one owner as a bespoke resto doesnt seem to be the right thing for these now rare and apprecisting modern classics.....
So would you rather it be sat on his drive rotting till he passes away, where he’s getting no enjoyment out of it and gets depressed as he’s unable to do anything about that?

You get why they did it though? It had to be adapted to allow the guy into his dream motor. Its no good him having his perfect dream car but no way of getting inside it, that'd be torture.

Hello mate, this car is amazing, they did such a top job for the fella, I did hear u mention 3d printing him a cap, I was wondering if u able to 3d print me a 2005 corsa c sri door badge, as someone nicked mine and looks terrible, if u have an email I can message u, or if u can't, no worries, I'd pay obviously, thanks
