Albert Bierstadt Reproduction Oil Painting Video

Here's another Biestadt reproduction, this ones called 'Among the Sierra Nevada' - by Albert Bierstadt 1868 - 183 x 305 cm. (my one is 70 x 113cm).
This one took along time to complete with all the detailing involved, I'll probably take it a bit further off camera.

My absolute favorite American landscape artist. If you're ever in Stockton, California, check out the Haggin Museum. They have one of the largest collections of Bierstadt paintings in the country. Combine it with a trip to Yosemite, a few hours away.

Why did you made this dark orange background? I guess it has some warming effect on the colors?

The orange is a burnt sienna - I use it to kill the white of the canvas which makes it a lot easier to judge my colour mixing. Hope this helps... 😁
