It's Stabbing WestwARd😉
This was their 2nd single from their 2nd album, "Wither, Blister, Burn & Peel", released in 1996. 28 years ago(when I was 18 years old)😮 It's the first song I ever heard from them(as I was dealing with a situation of unrequited love, so the lyrics and overall feel of the song really struck a chord deep inside "If only you would speak to me, or cared if I'm alive"), and it's the song that got me immediately hooked on the band.
Many times, unrequited love ends up leaving the person experiencing these unreciprocated romantic desires with feelings of shame, hence the title of the song🤔
Stabbing Westward is my 3rd favorite band of all-time(with only Queen at #1, and Depeche Mode at #2, outranking them in my mind & heart).
