IMHO, don't waste your time looking at, or doing a video for, the BRP GO apps. I'm with you, Google Maps is my go-to. I use the "Downloaded Maps" function of Google Maps for travel in the US or in remote areas where the cell coverage may be spotty. Also think that BRP dropped the ball in not adopting Android Auto or Apple Car Play. Why should our bikes be any different than our cars and trucks?? I use my phone for my music as well, utilizing (in my case) Samsung Music to avoid significant data streaming costs for sites like Spotify, Amazon Music, or CZcams Music. I was appalled when I found out that CZcams Music still eats up data when you have it set to only play music that is on your device!! Unlike yourself, I use the audio system constantly. I find that it works really well, and I'm quite happy with it!! Thanks for the videos!!

I had forgotten all about that download function in google. Thanks for tweaking my memory on that and thanks for your interest in the channel.

Learned more here then from most salesman we've talked to.
We ordered spyder a while back and were waiting, waiting.
We ended up today purchasing a beautiful red 2020 with 14000km. We informed our dealer the other day about our decision and they were very understanding about the situation.
    Again great video.

I have noticed some inconsistency in the dealer knowledge on these products also. My wife was looking at a Ryker late last year and we knew more about the options that they did. Sorry things did not work out for your new RT. This component thing is really dragging on. Enjoy your 2020... safe riding.

Very informative! I believe dealers should go through these explanations to new users who have bought their first Spyder. And I agree, there should be Apple Car Play and Android Auto that are the standard now.

Considering the cost of these machines at minimum the apps should be included!!. Thanks for continuing to follow along with the channel.

You may have figured this one out by now but I thought it worth a mention. I have the same bike. The Mode/Eco thing retards the throttle performance and makes the bike "sluggish". I do like the shift indicator and when it is just me I typically ride in Eco mode. When riding with a passenger (or in traffic) I turn it off to get maximum performance. Try this, while riding under throttle press the button and you will feel the bike retard the throttle quite a bit. On the cruise control you can bump up (and down) your speed ny 1 mph using it as well (just like in a car). I enjoy your videos!

Thanks for your video. I have a 2020 RTL (same colour but the Black edition) and I actually learned a few things here lol. I agree on the BRP Go and Nav options. I cannot imagine paying additional fees to use navigation on a machine that cost 35Gs (here in Canada). I use Bluetooth from my phone for both music and navigation (Waze) and it works just fine for me. Would be nice to see Android Auto or Car Play though but highly unlikely we will ever see that from BRP (IMHO).
    Enjoyed your video.
    Cheers
    Kevin

I am sure I will delve into the BRP GO thing eventually, but I am having too much fun riding for that. My phone works just fine for NAV on our first Spyder so onward we go. Thanks for your interest in my channel.👍🇨🇦

As per your comment at approx 14:49, no, they don't know what they are doing. If they are charging to use their map instead of letting us use Google's Android Auto, it's because they are money-greedy. Just like why you can't put a key-ring on your key, you need to pay extra for a key-ring holder. It's total BS.
A 2024 Sea-To-Sky is over $40,000 Canadian, yet they still won't include Android-Auto or a key-ring holder? But hey, they include a suite case for the front of your ride, which you will rarely use, but the key is used EVERY RIDE.
BRP needs to pool their owners and get feedback so they can be made aware of the "real world" they are apparently not aware of.

I’d did a bit of checking and as I am sure you probably know the 24’s come with apple car play but not android auto. The reason behind this as I understand it is that Android / Google does not allow it to be used on motorcycles. Anyway, thanks for your comments and for your in the channel.

    • @AndreChampoux
      @AndreChampoux Před 2 měsíci

@@BikeBoatandTravel BRP lies about why they don't support Android Auto. They blame Google for not allowing it on bikes, but the Gold Wing has it and so do the Harley's.
      czcams.com/video/g-H_AFgjhUo/video.html
The BRP Pro App allows you to connect to Apple or Android. Just not Android Auto, but Sygic Maps which sucks:
      1) Because it's pay to use
      2) Because it can't find a lot of the addresses that Google Maps can.

Murphy's law!!! The only thing I watched your video for was to find out what the button fwd of the Reverse button was, and you never even showed it 😒😒

    • @BikeBoatandTravel

You are correct. That is the BRP CONNECT button. I don’t use that software so that is why I probably missed it the video.

@@BikeBoatandTravel Perhaps it's time to make a new video.
Your video is titled "WHAT DO ALL THOSE BUTTONS DO??", but you don't cover *all* of the buttons. There was even a part where you said you don't use it so you don't know. It's either *all* of the buttons or it's not.
Maybe your 2nd video can go more into detail with the display and all of the parts, even cover the trips & stats, screen display adjustment, etc.
Anyway, I learned about the App yesterday, so I found out what that button does (the hard way). If you do cover the App in a new video, please use an Android & an IPhone, so everyone gets in on it, including the software it can connect to. Also cover that if it's not working, it's probably your USB cable (I learned that the hard way too)
      **Thanks
