If you’ve been following our Channel, then you know that we launched our adjustable driver backrest for the 2020 & newer Spyder RT models all the way back in 2020. The Smartmount Detachable backrest has been an extremely popular seller for us, but there’s always room for improvement. We’ve listened to your feedback over the last couple of years and relayed that info back to the MFG and today we’re happy to announce some exciting changes.
We now offer the backrests in two sizes. First up we have our Standard Backrest that measures 6.5” tall by 10” wide and features black stitching for a stealthy look. For those of you looking for true mid-back support, we now offer our Grande Backrest which measures 8” tall x 12.5” wide and features “Platinum” stitching to match the factory seats.
Both backrests offer 1” of Vertical adjustment as well as 3” inches of horizontal adjustment so that you can fine-tune your backrest into a position that best fits you. You’ll also get a removable storage pouch so that your passenger can store little trinkets such as chapstick, sun tan lotion, chewing gum, or really anything else that’s small enough to fit.
The smartmount system allows you to tilt the backrest completely forward to allow your passenger to throw a leg over when mounting or dismounting the Spyder. You can also easily pull up to completely remove the backrest from the bike.
All visible mounting brackets and hardware are now black for a cleaner look and best of all the backrest will arrive pre-assembled to simplify the installation process.
