…. I disagree. I sent my first Free Solo in Yosemite Valley in 1982. This is about experiencing life & being in settings that few have witnessed or tred. FWIW The Poles/Polish have some of the greatest High Altitude Climbers & have for decades. Much respect to the greatest Polish Alpinist Jerzy Kukuczka:

These are definetly Alps. Could be Austria, Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland or even Slovenia. Btw we have mountains in Czechia but they are way smaller than Alps.

I used to think the whole altitude thing was a joke. But I recently went to Colorado and hiked some 14k ft mountains for only a weekend just 4 hikes. When I got back to Minnesota which is like 800ft my cardio was INSANE. I was running waaaaay longer with ease. Working out way longer with ease. I was biking with zero effort when normally I'd be dying. Altitude training is no joke and it last like over a month once I got back.

Respect to all the rock climbers out there, that is an activity I find no interest in simply because I feel it’s not a fun way to risk my life. Id rather hike or run up a mountain, but climbing it just seems like an unnecessary way to risk your life. However if it is your passion or you find use for it, I respect you.
I do think he went up the side actually. I doubt he free climbed the actual rock face! That would be VERY dangerous!
