If you have the work visa for it you can work. However the Language Assistant visa is confined to France but you can freely travel in the Schengen area

My parents are from Mauritius. Mauritius and Reunion are geographically the closest pieces of land to one another, but they've always been unique entities whilst maintaining some commonalities as with all neighbours. Mauritius is an independent island nation and Reunion is an overseas department governed directly as part of France...but the two islands share very friendly relations stemming from similar histories and cultural ties

Yes it is, you can find a few English speakers to help you around, Google Maps and Google Translate are also a great life saver

Because the area serves as a market on particular days and a parking lot on other days...all explained on the blog link attached

Blacks are relatively spread through out the island- I saw a good number when I lived in St Denis/Clotilde.
It’s good to know that so I know that when I come to reunion island, I always avoid Black people dangerous and thieves

Most of them are from the Island of Mayotte or Comoros. Not indigenous people but there is no indigenous people to the island :)
@M Hello, Yes I am from Reunion Island. Most of descendent of the french settlers lives in the highland region yes, But you have to konw they are considered creole as everyone else on the Island, we all have the same culture :) They don't have a specific way of life, they speak creole ( with an unique accent its true haha ) sorry, I don't know any website that can help you ^^ But if you have any question, I can help you ;)

How do get a work permit in reunion island's
I got it from French Embassy in Kenya - you could check out my blog, addikahbelinda.com and see if you qualify to be a language assistant from your country to work in Reunion

@@belindaaddikah like I'm fron India we don't require visa for 15days stay and If I'm able to find a job there would I get the work permit.
@@d3junction hey, as far as I know you would need a work permit and titre de sejour before being offered a job. You can also consult this site www.reunion.gouv.fr/motifs-imperieux-liste-des-justificatifs-a8194.html for further clarification on documentation etc.

They are still there I believe.
The island was inhabited until the French came.
