- A vegetation fire in Butte County is at 2,136 acres with no containment. Oroville has declared a state of emergency as mass evacuations are underway. We get a live report from KCRA and updates on the help that is on the way.

It's weird, when I lived in California in '67-70, I don't remember having a lot of fires. 🤔
They had enough time to put sprinklers everywhere
There wasn’t as many people living in these areas in the 60s and 70s and a lot of these cities were small or still a town.
The trees weren’t that big
The "National Forests" were occupied by loggers thinning the fuels and creating access roads, fire personnel were also present "proactively" preventing down strikes from becoming raging infernos like we see today. Greenies had a better plan and with the help of government the forests are now "more natural" and highly fire prone, a never ending cycle.
it got ALOT hotter and drier. Drier especially. Studies were done. It's DRY.

@@nancypicchi9224 The only option is CA Fair Plan which is for fire, add CEA; CA Earth Quake, plus a supplemental for liability, water damage, anything a normal policy will cover...(if you can find a company that will insure)...easily 5000-6000/yr for minimal coverage. Also if you think insurances hand over what you are insured for, no they don't...it's up to that amount, but after their adjusters get done it's way less. Been through enough CA disasters to know the insurance game.
Been through enough natural, man made, personal crap, it ya don't have enough sense to adapt, to take critical steps, to stand unless someone else tells you to do so?
Today's plan is to stop adaptation in favor of blanket mandates, total BS sold by phony wannabes.
