- Wing Chun (chinesisch 詠春 / 咏春, Pinyin yǒng chūn, kantonesisch wing chun ‚Ode an den Frühling‘) ist ein vermutlich im frühen neunzehnten Jahrhundert entstandener (süd-)chinesischer Kampfkunststil (im Westen oft als Kung Fu bezeichnet).
Der Name der Kampfkunst stammt aus dem Kantonesischen, deswegen gibt es keine eindeutige Romanisierung des Begriffes. Aus markenrechtlichen Gründen und um sich von anderen Schulen und Verbänden abzugrenzen (siehe weiter unten), sind zahlreiche Schreibweisen gebräuchlich, so z. B. Wing Tsun (W.T.), Wyng Tjun, Ving Tsun (V.T.), Wing Tzun, Wing Chung, Wing Shun, Wing Tsung, Wing Tsjun, Wing Tjuen, Ving Chun (VC), Wing Do, Dynamic Ving Tshun (DVT), Wing Zun. In Pinyin, dem offiziell verwendeten Umschriftsystem des Hochchinesischen (Mandarin), werden die Schriftzeichen als Yǒngchūn transkribiert. - Sport

看來有很多外國人對於詠春功夫都非常熱充，而且他們有研究詠春用於實戰，反觀我們詠春的各個門派，只知爭拗誰是正宗，很少研究或改進這門功夫用於實戰
，或許以後我們若想學真能打的詠春，可能要找外國師傅才行。

Interesting mix of good and not so good.
I don't agree that high kicks are part of Wing Chun but if they work with the application of Wing Chun then I dont see why one shouldn't use it i mean if ot works go for it
ok only few of them can say I practice wing chun there is a lack of wing chun 's first principle ...... soft structure and fluid movement because rapidity and force doesn't necessarely means effectiveness

I see clearly two extremely diferent levels : the arms movements and punch techniques are really very fast and possibly very effective in a street fight....but...the kicks and the legs movements and techiques are absolutely irrelevant, and maybe very easy to catch the leg or the foot of the fighter because the kicks are totally slow...except in the exercise in the 2:30 minute....but these Kick is taken from Kyokushin Karate ( i recommend just take a look of european Karate and World M1 Champion the unforgottable Swiss Samurai ANDY HUG ) and in Kung Fu Ba Gua Zhang and in Pa Kua is also usuall....sorry my english... I m thinking in Schwiizerdeutsch and then traslating to english...E Gruess vo de Schwiiz

not really ..... wing tsun helped me to get out a fight more than once .... with some scratches ok but alive .....it depends how you apply its principles soft structure and movement fluidity

Wing Chun is great system. Created for selfdefence. A lot of people train it, but really low percentage of them do really know whats it about and can use it successfully in real fight. Why so? Is it because of fake Sifus with lack of knowledge or maybe the point lays that WC people stick to much to chi sao forgetting about sparrings? Hm... Both for sure.

michak000 There are some trainers, who dont teach you everything beacuse then want to always be better than you, the student. Gladly i had not had such a teacher.
I'm doing wing chun since 3 years. But i feel it like a part of me, it is now in my body and i cant make it go away.
