- Ida calls her pasta 'maccaruni cui feri' while in Italian it's maccheroni, but however you want to call them, these hand rolled macaroni shapes are fun to make, and are delicious served with freshly foraged porcini mushrooms. You can of course use ordinary mushrooms. This dish is vegan up to the point you add optional cheese at the end. Here are the ingredients:
for the pasta: 200g 00 flour, 200g semola rimacinata, 200ml of water.
for the sauce: 500g diced mushrooms, 1 garlic clove, 500g bottled, tinned or fresh tomatoes, handful basil leaves, salt, extra virgin olive oil - Krátké a kreslené filmy
It's incredible to see the difference in local ingredients like olive oil. When you buy it in Canada, you know what country it comes from. When you buy it in Italy, you know the exact village. I bet it smells amazing.
Missing my nonna. For those who's nonnas' are still alive, love them. ❤❤❤
Whenever I make "maccarruni" I see the hands of my great grandmother rolling dough on Sunday mornings.
how lucky they are to have all this top tier fresh produce at their doorstep!
Beautiful fresh Porcini mushrooms. Gorgeous dish. Grazie, bella 1:33
That looks delicious. Ida seems very shy but very proud (as she should be) at the same time. Brava!
This makes me want to pack up and move to Italy. Such a beautiful environment with wonderful people....and the food......Thanks Vicky & Team!❤❤❤
Food is also healthier. I read that people (who can't eat gluten) who visit Italy don't have any issues. When they come home they become sick again.
@@footyfan101ful Part of the problem is American wheat fields are sprayed with glyphosate, a weed killer. Many people who think they have gluten intolerance are actually reacting to the glyphosate. Italy doesn't spray its wheat fields with it. I buy all my flour and pasta from Italy for this reason.
Grazie Mille Ida ❤
I so love that Ida uses a “Nona knife”! She made it look so easy to create such a fantastic and fresh dish of pasta, along with Bianca’s foraging skills, of course! How wonderful to live among people who share their love of food with each other. TFS, Sharon🤗♥️🍝
Ida is beautiful! Friday night is my favorite night - because I know there will be a new Pasta Grannie! Love this channel so much. Well done, all.
I'm glad you are a regular viewer! 🙂🌺 best wishes, Vicky
All Pasta Grannies Are Special, But For Some Reason, This Video Was My Favorite.❤❤❤
Reminds me so much of my Nana…especially with her long hair up in the “bun”❤
Wow... I hope can taste Ida homemade cooking.. The fresh mushroom really blow my mind, Makes me drooling.. Love to see her very healthy in her age... Hope she is healthy and long live
As much as I love every granny in this series, I’m equally in love with their beautiful kitchens. They may not be the most modern, although most have all the convenience items you could ever want, they are full of character and made to last, just like the grannies themselves. It is so different than the all white and stainless steel popular in my part of the US right now, and I’m so glad. Everyone is different though, so you should have whatever makes you happy in the kitchen.
The kitchens definitely don't follow fashion and owners see no need to replace them while they're still in one piece! 🙂🌺 best wishes, Vicky
My mother would have thoroughly enjoyed these videos. How I wish she was here to watch them with me! She told me how her mother made pasta so quickly and easily and always made enough to share with neighbors. That was here in America. My grandmother came here when she was a young married woman, leaving her family in Italy. I never knew my grandparents but i somehow feel a connection with these beautiful people preparing these beautiful meals. Thank you, Vicky!! 🙏❤🙏❤🙏❤🙏🥰😘
hello Maria, I'm pleased the videos inspire such warm memories for you 🙂🌺 best wishes, Vicky
All the gentleness of her nature is there in her disarming smile, in her actions ....the charming , soft spoken, shy way she converses.
Love you Nona . Thank you for your delicious recipe.
Wish I could have had a closer look at the way you have piled your hair In a sweeping upward style.
hi Sarah, we did film her dressing her hair (she coils it into a bun) but it didn't really fit the narrative, so I didn't include it. 🙂🌺 best wishes, Vicky

Thank you Vicky for your response. Yes I understand , it cannot fit into this narrative. Maybe some other time , in a different context.
Warmly, Sarah
What a lovely lady and so skilled at making the maccaruni which looked out waveringly delicious ! Thank you Vicky and team. Ramon x
I'm glad you enjoyed it Ramon! 🙂 🌺 best wishes, Vicky
Another fantastic video Vicky & team ❤
Thank you 😊 🌺 best wishes, Vicky
I love how Ida is clear this isn't 'her' olive oil, this is olive oil she bought. LOL. Love these videos!
Ohhh, how wonderful to have access to fresh porcini. I forage for mushrooms from time to time with a knowledgeable friend, and we do sometimes find porcini, but they are fairly rare here. So delicious.
I have eaten pasta with tomatoes and mushrooms this way Never knew basil was added i tried with thyme and oregano delicious Neapolitan recipe
I just love this channel and all the wonderful gannies starring in the videos. Watching them calms me down
Happy to hear that! 🙂 🌺 best wishes, Vicky
I would eat this every day! ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for sharing!
Such a sweet old lady! Her recipe and pasta looks delicious
One of my favorite pastas to make. My nonna (who was also named Ida), and now me, use a nonna knife as well. 😁
Another magnificent video, thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it Simon! 🙂🌺 best wishes, Vicky
Ida is extraordinary! Brava!!
OK, time to make pasta! Thanks for the inspiration!
A simple dish, but with pasta and porchini that fresh, you could serve it to a king...I'm glad the neighbours there are friends, that's how a village is meant to work. I wonder what they did with the giant pumpkins...
I forgot to ask, I'll check how they cooked them. Often you'll see them piled by the roadside for decoration in the autumn. 🙂🌺 best wishes, Vicky
Che meraviglia! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Another lovely and talented nonna! Thank you so much!
That looked so good... These fresh porcini seemed just wow! And with products like this, less is more! Thanks for this video!!
“Less is more !”, I would say that is generally the motto of Italian cuisine and it is also what makes it particularly tasty. Few ingredients but good and genuine ! As opposed to, for example, American cuisine, where the motto seems to be "just more, it's more !", filling dishes with lots of ingredients and sauces. Simplicity is what pays the most in cooking.
MMMmmm voglio mangiare questo piatto 😋
Grazie Ida...bravissima ❤🤗😘
Buonissimo! Grazie! 💚
So wonderful to give attention to such talent. Thank you.
Hi I just got the 2nd Pasta Grannies cookbook the other week and in the acknowledgements you thank Michelle Lovric. I love her books. The Venetian ones in particular, obviously I suppose! I reckon you're a very lucky lady Vicky!
Yes, I'm lucky to count Michelle as a friend; I'll let her know we share a fan in you 🙂🌺 best wishes, Vicky

No idea what is semola rimacinata, can anyone help?
It's durum wheat flour, milled twice. It gives that yellowish colour and a certain bite to the pasta and it's perfect for bread and pizza as well. The other one is soft wheat flour, commonly used to bake cakes. Hope this helps!
@@cristina1582 thank you so much! I'll try to buy some (I'm in France)
Have a nice day...
The 'rimacinata' means 'milled again', so it's the very fine variety. I think you're generally likely to find it in France, here in Belgium most supermarkets have it.
@@TartempionLampionAmazon has it for sale😉
6:19 So sad to hear.
It’s,pronounced macarooni?
Lecker!
