    a great resource and channel recommendation that I borrow a lot of practices from. If you want to go more in depth and get a deeper understanding, or just get some good ideas.

    Ey man, thanks so much for this. I noted a jittering in the output of the subtract (rotate to OP) that made the boxes jump a bit when looked at closely. I took it to a chop, filter it (with 0.24) and back to top and to the "vel" null. Its way smoother now, although expeeensive.. so I inserted a switch and use it only to render. Cheers, and thanks again. Learning tons.

      Yeeah! Nice. I’m wondering if there is a way to get that “filter” action in tops to remove the jitter and speed up the process..

      @@maximilianogaggini5959 I don’t think you are speaking nonsense. It probably is something along those lines.
      You just gotta start thinking of them as values represented as colors. And then it’ll start to make sense.

    Hello Simon:
    First of all, thank you very much for your magnificent tutorials; they are among the best on CZcams without a doubt.
    I saw something on your Patreon that interests me a lot, and I wonder if it would be possible to talk to you about it privately?
    Thank you very much again, and I await your response.
    cheers

    awesome tutorial! Thanks a lot for sharing. One simple question: where should I tweak parameteres if I want the whole cloud of particles to move slower? I've tried reducing the Constant + Speed CHOPS, the LFO frequency, etc. but is not working at all. Thank you so much.

    • @supermarketsallad
      @supermarketsallad  Před 3 měsíci +2

      The math after the noise or the amplitude of the noise. Or of you want to make it a little more user friendly, add another math to attenuate those values.
      You might also want to lower the value in the level top before the over.

    tysm for the tutorial! one quick question: when you are adding the color with the lookup, you delete the noise and it does not affect the project. however when I do it, it removes all of the particles and there is an error in the geo saying "all ops must have the same number of instances". how do I fix this?

    • @supermarketsallad
      @supermarketsallad  Před 5 měsíci

      That error occurs when your color OP and translate OP have different resolutions.
      Make sure that the nodes you use to instance colors have the same resolution as nodes you use for instancing position.

    Incredible tutorial, i got a question , i am trying to make a particle system of my own, and i started from yuor tutorials, but still i want to ask, where do you lean or where can one learn such knowledge with TOPS? i have been doing paketas tuorials as well but i still struggle in understanding ATTRACTOS, i understand the basics of it but i cant seem to implement good attractors in my particle system. any suggestion would be nice :) and again great TUT

    • @supermarketsallad
      @supermarketsallad  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Find your own ways with TOPs.
      For attractors you need two things
      Directions, a texture that represents the direction “toward” the attractor.
      And a mask, selecting which points in your texture are affected.
      I have a tutorial where we make attractors

      @@supermarketsallad Hi! ive followed the tutorial to get attractors to work and its working but the positions are super weird.... I'm treating the RGB vaules like XYZ but the attractor position doesn't seem to change based on the values i give to the thresholds... So like changing the R value should move it left and right. But it seems to move almost no distance in a weird diagonal direction, and then disappears. Any ideas why this happening? That aside this is a amazing tutorial thank you so much for this! BTW my goal to link the attractors to the XYZ possitions of my hands via a kinect.

    • @supermarketsallad
      @supermarketsallad  Před 5 měsíci +1

      @piebomb101 diagonal… it sounds like the thresholds are set to luminance rather than rgb.
      So you need 3 thresholds one for red, one for green, one for blue.

    • @piebomb101
      @piebomb101 Před 5 měsíci

      @@supermarketsallad hmm no I definitely have the 3 set to R G and B. whatever values I set the threshold to seem to have almost no effect on the positioning. A tiny bit of movement and then it just disappears. I've tried placing it after the curl noise and also after the bounding limit but same problem. Its very weird...

    Hi, when I add the count to the sprinkle I add "**" to that but it turns red. Can't have a ton of points. Why? I watched too many times and repeat every step.

    • @supermarketsallad
      @supermarketsallad  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Writing ”**2” means ”to the power of 2”
      If that isn’t working for you, you could just square the number in a calculator and put that value there
