Thank you for uploading this video instruction for wrapping mallets. One can read instructions and get an idea, but actually watching someone do it, creates a whole other element to the learning process. Kudos!
I'm not sure if it has been stated before, but to get that hole at the top you should wrap the mallet slightly off center. Not too much or the yarn will just slide off the core. Also was that a home-made marimba you were playing on at the end?!

here's a few things for building marimbas Attend a school or self-study with online lessons Make sure you are fully committed to it before you start (I learned these and the reasons they work from Delfords Magic Plan site )
There are several components to doing a pro job. One resource I discovered which succeeds in merging these is the Delfords Magic Plan (google it if you're interested) definately the most incredible info that I have ever heard of. Check out this awesome resource.
