When deciding which of these two quads to buy, there are a lot of things to consider. Do you buy the plush 650 XMR that is awesome in the mud, or do you buy the insanely powerful, aggressive 850 XMR that lets you conquer every mud hole you come across? Find out in this video!

imagine a 850 calling a 650 a baby over and over again while being a baby itself to the 1000...
It's like everything else. 31s or 30s work until everyone else has them and someone gets 34s. You only need a 570 until someone gets a 650 and goes into a mud hole nobody would before. It's a giant game of keeping up with the jones'. It's just about hitting trails and holes you can do so you have fun.
I sold my 2012 outty 1000 and ordered the 2020 XMR 650 when it came out. I was not disappointed in my decision. It has plenty of power. I just installed halos, and the xmr snorkel riser kit which, I think, looks really good. I don't submarine my bike, so this was what I call a 'last chance precaution mod'. Even though I don't need them, I plan on installing a clutch kit, and some kinda of exhaust at some point. I think the 650 is perfect.
The 650 has plenty of power and can do just about anything you want it to. Great machine to have.
Killed the intro!!!🔥🔥🔥
Thank you!
Killer video as usual. Thanks
Thank you Mike!
Awesome video guys!
Thanks Paul
Great video, looks like a great time
Thanks Dennis!
Looks like fun but all our local woods trails have been totally torn up by disrespectful riders and now many can't be passed by regular riders on regular machines. It's fun as long at you aren't ruining the only trail for everyone to use.
Love the Video... may have to get ma a 650 😂, thanks for the inspiration
Absolutely. Its a great machine that anyone would be happy owning.
Great vid!
Thanks RC as always!
I love the two way microphone as your quadding.
Thanks
Thanks for another great video... I chose the 650, but I'm not doing mud holes and that stuff, just trails, and backyard rippin and snow play... Also curious what system you guys use for helmet comms etc. it sounds great.
But the drivers in this video the 650 driver was less experienced
Just started following you bc I’m thinking of picking up an xmr 650 or 850. I’m from Saratoga NY didn’t realize you were relatively close
Awesome! We hope we helped a little with your decision. If you grab either machine you’re going to love it. We’re actually from the Newburgh area, but this place was only a hour and 40 mins from us which is a easy day trip. Should be a similar ride for you, if not closer from Saratoga. Good luck with the machine hunt🤟🏼
Already ordered my 2021 650XMR soooo.....yea 👍😁
Its an awesome machine! The 650 is getting some bigger tires soon and is going to give the 850 a run for its money!
What mic setup are you running?
Awesome videos brother. Keep up the killer content, definitely a new subscriber. Also what's the name of the song on your outro?
Thanks you! It's a new song that Seth and Marshalls band is writing.
First r Max I’ve seen getttin sun too nice 🤘
We want to do a full in depth look at the new R Max. It’s definitely an awesome machine being it has such a short wheel base for a 4 seater.
My 2020 650 xmr blew the secondary clutch so been waiting on parts. Thanks for the vid guys
Dang that’s crazy! Are you upgrading to a aftermarket or staying stock?
@@LetDirtFly staying stock but if I upgraded probably would have got parts quicker.
True. The factory stuff right now is hard to get right now. Marshall is going to be going with a new primary soon and going to shootout of the stock clutching vs a clutch kit vs a entire primary replacement.
@@LetDirtFly I honestly just wanted to get it back running and didn’t even think about it at the time been missing so much ride time I only have 500kms on my 2020. I don’t much hit the mud like you guys because most my ride gang isn’t mud machined
Really? sorry to hear man such a new machine too
There is a very noticeable change in Seth's attitude since he started rockin the 850..hahahahaha!
It does things the polaris couldn't. Lol
We’ll see how his reaction is next video. We’re breaking the Polaris and CF Moto back out 🤟🏼
I would have been on the live chat at 9 tonight but my wife has me watching below deck at that time lol not my fault
Happy wife happy life. Lol
seth needed that cam am power
Now Marshall is baby brother 😩
Liking the new intro
Thanks Kevin!
Cool to see Seth giving 0 fuc&s and his axles holding up 🤘🏼.
Fun !!
I have an outlander 650 🤔
Yes I do agree that the 850 xmr needs some kind of exhaust which one are you guys thinking of putting on? Also will he do the ecu flash from wholesaleatv also because they run way too lean from factory.
just ordered the mbrp, and the cvtech clutch for it. flash will be coming soon.
@@sethharman3006 awesome! Mbrp is a nice one too! 👍😎🤛 it’s plenty loud and not as loud as the yoshi.
@@MrTylerg506 from what i hear it sounds great. Just don't want it to loud.
@@sethharman3006 Oh trust me it will sound awesome! Also it won’t be too loud/annoying. 👍😎🤛
How does the 850 ride compared to the sportsman 570? Thinking about getting an XMR but don’t want a bike that rides like a tank lol
OK so the Sportsmans is a pretty cushy ride stock. I had hd springs in mine so the ride wasn't anywhere near as cushy as stock. But the XMR is still stiffer then the Polaris with the heavy springs.
Fire content also man good job 👍
Now I want to see what a cvtech clutch would compare to the 850
Been looking into it. Might be coming in the future.
the 850 is getting one. just ordered it.
" come on baby 650 "
Laughs in Renegade 1000
Nice camera!
What intercom system do you guys use ??
lexin b4fm & ft4
Hey bro I got a 2021 650 xmr and I got 31” outlaw 2’s and I still have problems clearing things. I had 29.5 assassinators and it helped me out with clearing but they’re just too heavy
Are they true to size?
A lot of the ground clearance issue with the 650 vs the 850 is also the suspension. It’s much softer then the 850 so it sits a bit lower. I’m eventually going to go with Ella suspension which I’ve heard helps keep your ride height much higher without sacrificing ride quality
@@LetDirtFly they are true to size
@@LetDirtFly nice bro update us when you swap the suspension
I figured a pipe, tune, and clutch would of made up the difference
These two options are what I'm trying to decide between right now. I mean the 650 has enough power but my ego says get the 850.
There are big differences between them. The 650 is still a great choice. You can check out some of the later videos to see what was done to the 650 to make it more like the 850. I would go 850 if the extra 2k isn't the deciding factor. -Seth
@@LetDirtFly Considering the new xmr 850 doesnt have Fox Podiums anymore would the Reny xmr 650 with the Fox Podiums be a more equal value platform? I would just get a novawinch anyways and cvtech reguardless which machine. Now it comes down to 16,150 Fox or 16,500 200 extra cc's.
@@legowolf22 Power is worth the money. I would go 850.
Where in NY are those trails? They look pretty good, I'd like to ride them.
Atv club near troy. Posted a link on our facebook page
@@LetDirtFly Ahh ok, that's a little far from me. Too bad as those trails look good.
In order to ride them you must have the membership for the year. Unfortunately no day passes, but if you lived close enough it’s 100% worth it
Where do you guys ride in New York Bc I’m from ny
We are in the hudson Valley. Near Poughkeepsie
Lol that 650 is real cute compared to the 850
What state are you guys riding in
New York
Where yall riding by Albany ny? im down near catskill
white oaks atv club in troy area
@@LetDirtFly there's a club in troy ? lol . never knew. good vids.
Marshal will have a 1000 next video ;)
You never know 😅
Haha “braydon price” that’s the best comment ever.
LOL I’m waiting for Seth to start playing bumper cars now 😂 ugh I hope not 😩
@@LetDirtFly now that would be worth subscribing on my girlfriends account too. Haha
Bro Skimming the isnt the same as going through it. That 850 would have the same if you actually went through the hole
Where you get those hats at?
Super clean sent them with some products to try out.
Plus with only a clutch kit your 650 isn’t getting all it naturally aspirated power
Cvtech would make a world of difference compared to that clutch kit an your rite ground clearance is king
Look into the CV Tech. We want to do a clutch shootout. Stock clutching vs a clutch kit vs a entire clutch replacement. Should make for a really cool vid!
5:50 you can tell it’s about the driver and not the atv
Me having a friend 15, 6,3 he needs the 850 but when I got on it I couldn’t even reach the bottom I’m also 15… lol
We used to use wood blocks back in the day to reach the footwells lol
🤘850
Yes Sir. Its' a beast.
Stock cryptids on that 850 are not 30s either
no they are not.
Any idea why they didn't put true 30s on the 850.
@@jarrellstephens1867 i don't know why they are under sized.
I think it was for clearance issues. The “30s” they put on are pretty tight to the footwells and they probably promised 30s to the public, so they had to do some fudging on the tire size lol
@@LetDirtFly thanks didn't really think of it that way. Makes sense. I think everybody would prefer a 28 that's true over a 30 that's a 28.
Just get a 1000 don't even bother with anything less.
1000 isn't for everyone. Personally didn't want the long frame.
Cryptid are garbage tires
They work great for us and our riding style, but if you follow our social media, we now have System 3 Xm310 and Terache Aztex tires. Keep an eye out for the next video coming soon
Just winch it out lol you fucked up by not having it I 4×4
I wanna get into the quad seen, a Can am, of course. I've been told multiple times to get one. My struggle is what size? I think a 650 XMR would be all I need? But an 850 XMR seems to exceed at the mud holes. I think a 1000 would be way too much personally. So I guess it comes down to budget?
So there’s actually not too much difference between a 1000 and 850. The 850 actually has more torque because it’s a longer stroke. The 1000 is a smaller stroke but bigger piston so it make more power up to. If you’ve never risen a quad before or are newer into mudding and what not, I’d definitely recommend a 650. It’s a perfect starting point. Once you get comfortable, you can do some mods like a tune, exhaust and clutching and you’ll be keeping up with 850s easily. If you’re a more experienced rider I’d go straight for the 850.
@LetDirtFly Thanks. I really appreciate your imput. Now I gotta find a quad. I like 👍
Well well well...
