Mozart's enemy in real life wasn't Salieri. "Mozart's greatest and most bitter rival was the dashingly handsome Spanish composer, Vincente Martìn y Soler, who came to Vienna in 1785. It was Soler, who because he was angry that Mozart's new Italian comic opera, The Marriage of Figaro, was chosen over his piece, Una Cosa Rara, as the 1786 season opener, started an uprising against Mozart with certain members of the opera company and arranged most, if not all, of the cabals that occurred during Figaro's opening performance." Compared to him, Salieri was more like Mozart's ally. "when Salieri was appointed Kapellmeister in 1788, he revived Figaro instead of bringing out a new opera of his own, and when he went to the coronation festivities for Leopold II in 1790, Salieri had no fewer than three Mozart masses in his luggage. Salieri and Mozart even composed a cantata for voice and piano together, called Per la ricuperata salute di Ofelia, which celebrated the return to stage of the singer Nancy Storace. This work, although it had been printed by Artaria in 1785, was considered lost until the 10th of January 2016, when the Schwäbische Zeitung reported on the discovery, by musicologist and composer Timo Jouko Herrmann, of a copy of its text and music while doing research on Antonio Salieri in the collections of the Czech Museum of Music. Mozart's Davide penitente (1785), his Piano Concerto KV 482 (1785), the Clarinet Quintet (1789) and the 40th Symphony (1788) had been premiered on the suggestion of Salieri, who supposedly conducted a performance of it in 1791. In his last surviving letter from 14 October 1791, Mozart tells his wife that he collected Salieri and Caterina Cavalieri in his carriage and drove them both to the opera; about Salieri's attendance at his opera The Magic Flute, speaking enthusiastically: "He heard and saw with all his attention, and from the overture to the last choir there was not a piece that didn't elicit a 'Bravo!' or 'Bello!' out of him [...]." Salieri, along with Mozart's protégé J. N. Hummel, educated Mozart's younger son Franz Xaver Mozart, who was born in the year his father died.[45]"

Anonio Salieri you are the most epic song writer from your era its simple yet it is so beutiful and it is easy to play if you have problems with one of your hands
I might be crapped on for this but I was moved to learn about the story of Mozart and Salieri in a game I play called Fate/Grand Order. They main point of the game is that historical figures, gods, characters from folklore, and etc. are summoned as servants to help fulfill the mission of their master, a mage who summoned them. Anyways, there was an update where Antonio Salieri was added to the game but was named Mozart Alter in the main story (due note that I haven't reached that part of the story yet). Alters are basically incarnation a different side of a character. That led me to search about the real life relationship between Salieri and Mozart and I was amazed. Their story was really something else. How Salieri was accused of killing Mozart, even though he had a really strong bond with him. This may or may not be concrete information (correct me if I'm wrong) but the part where Salieri began to think that he really killed Mozart. Even though he didn't do it, there was something in him that kept bugging him to think that what if it really was him. Maybe there was really part of him that wanted Mozart to die, due them being rivals. Anyways, it the little history lesson really moved me. It's at those random moments where you wouldn't expect to learn something.
GERSHWINGAL7 Well, Salieri showed prodigious ability in all aspects of creating music. Nothing ordinary in this. It should also be noted, that Salieri was a pivotal figure in the development of late 18th-century opera.
GERSHWINGAL7 I agree that Mozart beats Saleri, but still, this music isn't ordinary. I mean, Mozart would have written it, it would have been hailed by everyone.
I dont understand why people underestimate Salieri and kiss Mozart's ass so much... Italian musical classicism is totally under rated, its equal or better, even, than venniesse school
+Franco Siniscalchi the strategy of the movie looks like: "make the other smaller than you, then will be feeling better". But the other must be someone that is bothering you and not anyone..."
***** However the genius (Mozart) died poor, forgotten, and full of venereal diseases !!!!! And if not for the kindness of others, his music would never have reached the ears of posterity ....
Decades after Mozart's death, a rumour began to circulate that Mozart had been poisoned by Salieri. This rumour has been attributed by some to a rivalry between the German and the Italian schools of music.[37] Carl Maria von Weber, a relative of Mozart by marriage[38] whom Wagner has characterized as the most German of German composers, is said to have refused to join Ludlams-Höhle, a social club of which Salieri was a member and avoided having anything to do with him.[39] These rumors then made their way into popular culture. Albert Lortzing's Singspiel Szenen aus Mozarts Leben LoWV28 (1832) uses the cliché of the jealous Salieri trying to hinder Mozart's career.
Mozart thought he might have been poisoned by his rivals at court, but he never accused Salieri. Salieri was also one of the last people to visit Mozart on his deathbed.
+82dorrin and how you think you get poisoned .. ? by the person closest to you .. you guys leave out he joined the freemason a couple years back and made the magic flute which uncovers alot ... look into it
And make a kind old man, who allready suffered because he had lost his musical creativity in old age, grieve during his last years of life. But maybe he did meet his friend Wolfgang again after death; ''You actually allowed yourself to be touched by those shitmasters, dear Antonio? I would have told them they could kiss my ass. Sapperlote! Now let me introduce you to Bach.''
Salieri's music was rediscovered after Milos Forman's film. It was rediscovered and given it's proper place. Despite presenting Salieri with an evil aura, the film brought justice for this great composer.
People who only seen Amadeus. Shut up. You who have read the history books you may speak. And you who have read the german and italian history you may correct any errors. There is always a lot more behind the scenes then any history book can get down.
But he did confess that he killed Mozart when he was committed to an asylum, which was proven wrong. You could say that the movie is being told through the distorted point of view of events he believes happened.
I haven't read or seen either so fuck you...... how did slipknot bring me here? I mean I'm grateful salieri can pull emotions from your soul but seriously started with dbza and now I here , the fuck happened.
Oh yes I saw a guy called Doug Walker talk about Amadeus. I wanted to direct that comment to people who have only seen the movie and take it like the Titanic movie. I saw the movie and really loved it. Just that people who wants to take it as fact should reconsider.
Salieri is justly being rediscovered today for his wonderful music. Not only Salieri never hated Mozart, but the "excellent" movie has nothing to do with history. It's a fiction.
Salieri was a truely ingenious composer. Of course he wasn't perfect little Mozart, but he wasn't buttered bread either to use the expression. I find him to be a charming composer who deserves his place in the pantheon of the best. Besides, he wrote over 40 operas alone! (I just had to include that).
Daaaamn stop that whole comparison thing. Just because of a (very entertaining) movie? Honestly: they both had a different style. How can you even try to compare them. If I am happy and want to keep my good mood I'd listen to Mozart but if I'm alone thinking or writing or whatever I'd prefer Selieri. I really don't know why you guys would call Salieris music medioce (except for the sake of comedy.) And I don't really get why you would hold Mozart so high. He was good very good in fact yes but flawless? Nah. Both have their strenghts and weaknesses. and I embrace them all. Because I know that I wouldn't be able to do something near that great.
+Hel LokisDaughter Mozart and Salieri had some rivalry for jobs. Salieri, for example, was chosen over Mozart as the piano teacher for Princess Elisabeth of Württemberg (because Salieri was also a famous singing teacher). Also when a poet was preparing to work with Mozart, he was ordered back to play a play of Salieri on a wedding, which Mozart wasnt happy about. Although its unlikely Mozart and Salieri had a bitter relation, Mozart was annoyed by Salieri a few times. So its funny that in that time Salieri was sometimes chosen over Mozart, while Mozart now is obviously much more known. I personally believe when you play on such a high level, it isn't really about who is ''better'' but more who you like better. It becomes very subjective. Sure some can say Mozart is better because of technical stuff, the child prodigy he was or whatever, but anyone can just simply say they like Salieri better because it appeals more to them.. and you cant really judge taste.

+Hel LokisDaughter No, I don't said that. I am referring to the people that likes to say that Beethoven and other compositors from German and Austria make music for the superior minds.... things like that.
“His teaching of budding young musicians continued, and among his pupils in composition (usually vocal) were Ludwig van Beethoven, Antonio Casimir Cartellieri, Franz Liszt, Franz Schubert and many other luminaries of the early Romantic period. He also instructed many prominent singers throughout his long career.” Wikipedia s.v. Salieri. Where are your pupils, who will write music history, oh greatest music-genius of all times?
Why! Why in the world did the movie industry have to take two great composers and put a plot to it, as to give Mozart all the credits and make Salieri look like a vicious, jealous fool?? Why all this propaganda again? If making a movie, why not tell the truth about these great men??

Genius!
Salieri was the creator of the beautiful opera music! For me, Salieri and Mozart are on the same level, both created music that will last forever.

We came from the Amadeus film 1984:
"Salieri is the God of ordinary people"
I feel guilty now. This my first time listening to Salieri and this is some of the most fantastic music I have ever heard.
His work is just unreal man! I love the Italian style and that atmosphere!
That vulgar and privileged Austrian brat could never have pulled something as amazing as this. This sublime display of passion and love is something only a sophisticated Italian could ever create. Bravo, bravo maestro. Emperor favored you because your music truly is worthy of imperial court.

Sir. Salieri ... your music is perfect to me. And in our language di must say... Davvero GRAZIE Antonio!
Grazie
His music is very bold, unpredictable, and full of passion. Bravo, Antonio!)
Thanks from my beloved relative
E bravo salieri 😌 roba ITALIANA
Grande musicista.
A me piace davvero tanto.
The point is that people watch movies and believe that fiction is reality. The positive side is that the movie Amadeus made many of us curious about Salieri’s unjustly forgotten work.
Beautiful music, like this symphony.
Bravo, Maestro!
"I DIDN'T KNOW MUSIC LIKE THAT WAS POSSIBLE!" -Mozart.
Absolutely beautiful!! 🥰💚
With the film «Amadeus» I have discovered Salieri, I am very happy with this.
I love Italian stuff!
its decent, but could use a few more notes
+lotiq How many more?

+lotiq Maybe it has too many notes.
i'm watching rn xD
This work is beautiful as it is , it is dumb to advise that he should have used a few more notes.
Realmente un gran compositor.

An excellent work of music. I am enjoying this. First class composing. It is dainty and joyous at times. Very good.
salieri was really gifted i like this music it rings inside my head
Bravo!
Quelle belle musique mélodieuse !! Merci Grazie Danke!
Carina e deliziosa! Bravo Salieri!
yes i believe both Salieri and Mozart were amazing composers... i love both their music!
Grande musicista Antonio Salieri
So many commentators doing the Mozart vs Salieri thing like Coke vs Pepsi or Ford vs Chevy. It's sort of idiotic. Both made great music. Just listen and enjoy.
Ford is better!!! I love fords 😊
Coke is better!
Anonio Salieri you are the most epic song writer from your era its simple yet it is so beutiful and it is easy to play if you have problems with one of your hands
Grazie signore!
Would be nice to not see Mozart's name splattered all over the comment section......
it's not, only references to him are
Incredible, stirs the emotions like nothing I've ever felt before.
I feel like I could fly with this in my ear.
Great man and Composer. Good to see his music being appreciated.
Delightful, court composer!
beautiful..... Salieri is a genius composer, i like his music and this piece is perfect.
Master Salieri, you work won't be forgotten
There are no "better" and "worse" composers.
Beauty is in the ear of the listener... 8-)
You sir, have opened my mind to a new way of hearing things
I loved the movie a lot anyway. And Murray Abraham was a great great great Salieri
Beats mozart hands down! Most underrated classical composer. One of the Greats.
i wouldnt say he beats mozart but he is underrated nonetheless
you have got to be kidding! What a bias you are showing...Mozart was a magnificent genius. This music is just ordinary.
GERSHWINGAL7 Well, Salieri showed prodigious ability in all aspects of creating music. Nothing ordinary in this. It should also be noted, that Salieri was a pivotal figure in the development of late 18th-century opera.
*****
Indeed. Some of his works in the field of opera are simply masterpieces - tremendously inspiring.
GERSHWINGAL7
I agree that Mozart beats Saleri, but still, this music isn't ordinary. I mean, Mozart would have written it, it would have been hailed by everyone.
I dont understand why people underestimate Salieri and kiss Mozart's ass so much... Italian musical classicism is totally under rated, its equal or better, even, than venniesse school
+Franco Siniscalchi Not sure entirely where I stand on this issue, but I am a Clementi fan...
+Franco Siniscalchi
Perfect answer !♥
+Franco Siniscalchi the strategy of the movie looks like: "make the other smaller than you, then will be feeling better". But the other must be someone that is bothering you and not anyone..."
***** However the genius (Mozart) died poor, forgotten, and full of venereal diseases !!!!!
And if not for the kindness of others, his music would never have reached the ears of posterity ....
+Roger Penrose Just because you are Italian doesn't really make it any different. I am Italian too but from Abruzzo.
I love this piece!
Its well organized and sensible, two qualities I love seeing in music.
This man is a legend
Salieri's music was actually more German than Italian. His teachers were Gluck and Gassman.
Mozart thought he might have been poisoned by his rivals at court, but he never accused Salieri.
Salieri was also one of the last people to visit Mozart on his deathbed.
+82dorrin and how you think you get poisoned .. ? by the person closest to you .. you guys leave out he joined the freemason a couple years back and made the magic flute which uncovers alot ... look into it
Read Maynard Solomon's book, 'Mozart: A Life.'
None of the nurses said anything about Salieri.
Salieri was a great composer. He mades wonderful music.equal to Mozart in the same time. Both where friends but not enemies.
Grande antonio salieri!
One hears such sounds, and what can one say but... Salieri.
That is wierd.
Ahturos you mean you saw Nostalgia Critic
A wonderful composer. The greats he guided could reach so high because they were standing on the shoulders of a giant.
Salieri is justly being rediscovered today for his wonderful music. Not only Salieri never hated Mozart, but the "excellent" movie has nothing to do with history. It's a fiction.
I occasionally wish there would be an plug-in in google chrome that would disable the comment section in youtube. This is one of those occasions.
Then why comment. What an imbecile
because someone's an attention ho :v
Salieri é ótimo, Mozart é fantástico!
Salieri's has a sincere and kind-hearted feeling to it. Ah yes, the classic composers are a family after all :).
Cada vez me gusta mas Salieri. Un maestro.
Beautiful! Thanks for posting. I can't stop listening :) There is something a bit catchy, relaxing, sad, and capricious in the same time.

Actually the two were good friends. They did have a working rivalry, but there is no evidence that they harbored any ill will toward one another
He spent his adult life and career as a subject of the Habsburg Monarchy.
Gracias signore.
Ahh, this one has always been one of my guilty pleasures.
"Guilty" of liking good music I guess?
Salieri was a truely ingenious composer. Of course he wasn't perfect little Mozart, but he wasn't buttered bread either to use the expression. I find him to be a charming composer who deserves his place in the pantheon of the best. Besides, he wrote over 40 operas alone! (I just had to include that).
I'm sure Salieri would be happy that he made it to CZcams after all this time
it is great... regards from Croatia...
I really don't know why you guys would call Salieris music medioce (except for the sake of comedy.)
And I don't really get why you would hold Mozart so high.
+Hel LokisDaughter the strategy of the movie looks like: "make the other smaller than you, then will be feeling better". But the other must be someone that is bothering you and not anyone..."
+TVCAD1 Quite sad isn't it?
I feel bad for all the people who just believe everything they see in the movie. But it's nice to know that there are some people who are critical.
+TVCAD1
Soo you're saying that I feel superior because of where and by whom I was born?
Guess I'll just pretend I didn't read that xD
And yes you are right. Both of them made incredibly great music.
+Hel LokisDaughter No, I don't said that. I am referring to the people that likes to say that Beethoven and other compositors from German and Austria make music for the superior minds.... things like that.
Sallieri is good person
BRAVO Antonio !! cosi mi piaci ;)
Sayuri mameha It's Hollywood, kid, they always do this sort of things.
Sayuri mameha It's Hollywood, kid, they always do this sort of things.
It wasn't the movie that started all this rubbish. It was an opera by some Russian guy whose name I can't remember, which in itself speaks volumes .
Jack Fletcher opera by some Russian guy? So funny. LOL.Alexander Pushkin was a famous Russian poet and author of world class pieces of romans, stories and poems. He was a cornerstone in changing the Russian and literature. He wasn’t a musician. And actually, he wasn’t even ethnically Russian, his ancestors were Arabic or black, I am not sure.
@@luisrincon7819 shut up moron it is a bloody masterpiece, if you are ignorant enough to not know about their history then you have no right to blame the movie for your own lack of knowledge.
