I would say the game wouldn't have been that good and enjoyable without the music, but the game was also extremely good so one cannot be perfect without the other.
What shows that this OST is phenomenal is that people have a lot of favourites. Like, scroll through the comment section, and you will find at least 5 different favourites in a minute

finally got around to getting this on PSN...it's fucking incredible. so difficult but so damn satisfying when you get all the nuances of the controls down and just completely slay the tougher levels. I'm really loving it, oh and the music is top notch

@TipTup if you have the Afterbirth+ DLC, you can install the 'Soundtrack menu' or the 'vanilla ost' mods, so you can hear the old ost again. I like both of the soundtracks though, plus the antibirth one. Incase you haven't beaten mom yet (without mods), you can't unlock achievements if you have mods turned on
