Hi
Привет из России!
PIN OF SHAME!!
Pin of shame + quick cash grab
Nothing better then Levy playing an entire game of chess before saying "But that didn't happen"
“What actually happened was knight b4”
And then proceeds to only show 2 moves
You gain insight into championship caliber players' gameplan and mindgames and what they do to counteract each other's hidden plans and traps whilst they try to hold the position from falling apart or giving off advantages. If he didn't do that this would just be a boring draw for my limited perception of the game
Agadmator showing 40+ engine moves at depth 69 that lead to White being being up a pawn:
this comment has been written 100 times already stop being an npc
This man could make a snail crawling look like the most intense and emotional thing ever with his commentary
Weird, but true
He's so fucking good at what hes doing ngl
ghastly, isn't it?
Sorry, that is precisely the reason why I prefer different commentators. He's so over the top, trying to make everything exciting that it doesn't feel sincere. He sounds like an influencer.
@@aseq2 I get that feeling with a lot of cheesy CZcamsrs but honestly even though he exaggerates slightly I can tell his enthusiasm is real. Him being so passionate about chess makes it fun to watch.
17:46 love how in master level games a 0.7 point disadvantage is "borderline losing" but in low elo games a M1 can be totally winnable, just shows how much small inconveniences matter when the game is played perfectly.
It IS a 2 hour game, even at 1600 elo chess that much of a disadvantage is borderline losing in classical
@@fabmc8816 no it is not
The 0.7 line might just be really hard for a human to find.
@@fabmc8816 not even Stockfish can reliably convert an 0.7 advantage
This just goes to show the incredible level of chess that these guys are playing. For Ding to clutch up with 27 seconds on the clock. An absolute legend
Levy is the only one that can make me understand every move in a world championship game
Agadmator does a pretty good job as well but yeah Levy is a great commentator.
Doubt that, Levy himself doesnt understand every move and idea
@@stianaandal1488 shhh, fanboys have to make comments
@@stianaandal1488 I think he does. Understanding the idea behind a move is easier than making it yourself. Even if it’s not whatever would have plays, I’m sure he understands it
@@Axiomatic75 i just had to stop watching Adagmators recap, cuz dude was showing too many lines i really forgot where we get into in the real game, i was bored after 10 mins and came here to watch recap and chill. I really like Adag, but this is too much now
it feels like only yesterday when Levy was covering Magnus vs Nepo, time flies really fast
Its absolutely insane, I watched the game 6 recap like a couple weeks ago. It seemed like it was only a couple months ago.
When your life is boring time becomes fast.
@@hmdchy no... When your life becomes fun it goes faster when boring its slower
@@Mewomawo my life's pretty boring.... Why is it going so fast?
@@Mewomawo Some argue there are two rates at which we percieve time, the interior perception of how long a moment takes as you experience it, and the exteriror perception of how long a moment was upon reflection hours/days/months later. The former is slow when nothing happens, you're bored. The latter is fast when nothing happens, there's nothing to fill up your memories.
levy does such a good job at translating such top-notch and complicated chess into exciting and contextualized commentary that is easy to follow. i watched hikarus recap first but it wasnt until i saw this did i realize how exciting the game was. keep up the good work
Levy is a poet 💍
The anti-puzzle sounds tremendously good. For years I have been saying to everybody that knowing when there is a tactic is a huge deal and that with classic puzzles you know there is something in the position (though now that I am getting trickier ones, I often do not know how much there is in a position - earlier on it is usually mates or winning the queen). I think it will be great feature which will improve the chess skill of many people.
agree
Exactly!
With Nepo's insane prep, but Ding's calculation, this is gonna be wild
And neither player has Magnus's Stockfish brain
If insane preparation it will win easily bro what u talking
@@TheLucidDreamer12I mean they aren’t as good, but Ian is the 2nd greatest player of this generation and Ding is clearly excellent too.
@@thesnackbanditIan is not second greatest player of this generation, what makes u think that?
@@furkankarakaya26 then who is?
Nothing better than Levy coverage on a Major chess event! 🎉

I love the anti-puzzle idea on Chessly. One of my biggest issues is that I often try to find tactics that don't exist, so a puzzle game that trains you to spot if whether or not there are tactics is amazing.
The collab between ding liren and the defense game on chessly plus has been a game changer
Didn't expect to see you here
@@kzkaa. i am everywhere
Magnus is participating, he's just late
lol
Hilarious
He's getting his shirt
Hi
😂😂
Not only Magnus is missing from the World Chess Championship recap but also Levi's stare, what a timeline we live in
😢
levi tallaksen?
He missed the stare for ONE video, chill
@@justamir5 One blunder can loose an entire game ;DD
How do I watch the games live?
Since the start of game 1 I had high hopes for Ding because his defence skill is amazing and highly underrated in my opinion
Levy is legitimately a natural at commentary and chess explanations. There is no way 3 people would've understood if it wasn't for him, and he managed to explain it to 300K. It's just as impressive to see him do what he does best, as seeing Ding and Nepo battle it out at what they do best. Clutch, kudos.
I just realized…the person who dethroned Magnus….was Magnus himself. Absolute madlad and a Gigachad
Bruh
glug glug
On the one hand I want to see some Magnus matches on the other hand now we have a World Championship without knowing who will win it beforehand
@@karstencarsten9964 personally I thought Ian was gonna prob win beforehand but y’know, it’s not as certain as with MAGNUS.
That actually was drunk Magnus, 2nd player in the world
your recaps are so far and away my favorite thing about this channel. so well done.
Was routing for Ding and glad he didn’t entirely lose, gonna be an epic WCC
Nepo, being inspired by Levy, now also stares at us
Levi's ability to make any game extremely entertaining is incredible
Levy's
this series is going to be a banger! Can't wait to see all of em' thanks Levy !
Levy makes the best and the most hilariously interesting chess content. I have been playing chess for a while but he got me into it more than anyone ever.
Was a fantastic first game, can't wait for all the coverage!!
I've been hyped about Ding ever since he had problems with online tournament due to time zones
I wish him to win
that match seemed bang on. Nepo as the aggressive attacker and Ding being the best defender.
Levy nails another recap! Thanks for the chess championship recaps; my favorite of his series
Thank you so much for the game recaps as always Gotham 🤙
All the best from Scotland 🏴 ❤️

It's fascinating that I just saw the stream coming out then I just see this. Perfect timing Levy!
Great recap, really shows how danger was creeping in this position and Ding's defensive prowess
As someone who knows very little about chess, your recaps makes high level chess very digestible. They make me want to learn more about chess and become a better player myself looking forward to watching the rest of the series!
Excited to watch the games. Thank you for your effort making these videos.
Imagine if they draw all 14 games and have a boxing match to decide who's the winner 🏆
The first world chess championship I chose to follow. I like the sound of Levy's voice and he's here to make sure I don't miss anything cool on the board. Thanks! I'll keep watching.
Insane comeback of Liren, well played to the 2 players
Watching this game live was an emotional rollercoaster 🔥
Watching the world championship game live and not seeing Magnus’ name was weird.
Thanks for this Levy :) don't have the patience or time for the full games in this format
Great recap, looking forward to the rest. Thanks!
It's more interesting if Magnus participates, but Levy makes this WC recap hell lot of an interesting too!
Only Levy can advertise about his website in such an important video and still have me listen to the entire ad 😂
So glad I get to watch this entertaining recap, instead of 7 hrs of fighting for a draw.
I have to say, I think the "anti-puzzle" is genius and revolutionary when it comes to internet chess training. Thanks, Gotham Team!
I was already expecting such good analysis of world championship matches... obviously its your moral duty as u are chess streamer of the year 🎉😎
Doesn't matter to me
Rooting for Ding all the way I’ve always been a huge fan of his style🔥 I do wish hikaru would’ve qualified tho 😔
Hikaru retire on classical game
@@datualiomar3333 he still had a chance to qualify for the match in the last candidates and lost
Nepo is on fire during candidate.even hikaru get 2nd place in the candidate.magnus not gonna let hikaru play on world champion.magnus gonna defend his title
I never thought that I would have the UFC Championship match spoiled while watching the chess world championship live coverage...
The way Levy explaining stuff is definitely out of this world for beginners like me :)
You have managed to make this boring draw not boring for me. I watched it live, but this video was way more exciting. Thank you!
The mouse slip is the last thing Magnus Carlson will be known for.
You know he's still world champion in blitz and rapid right?
@@viccyAI isnt he not competing to defend tho?
@@denonimophantom He is, the only title he decided not to defend was his classical title
@@viccyAI blitz and rapid XD dude its for children
@@JacobsKrąnųg lmao then you go do world champion for blitz and rapid if it's for children.
Thank you Gotham for covering this WCC! Not many people is making content about. Can't wait to the next games!
It's sad to know that FIDE advertising for a tournament like World Championship is so poor that most of us have to rely on content creators like Levy to know about them
So cool that they’re hosting an entire tournament to find out who’s the second best in the world
Ikr xddd but it's still nice to see
The first game is spectacular and even both players play like kings in here.
Yes!!! Finally! Puzzles that teach you to spot when you don't have a tactic! I've wanted this for awhile now thanks Levy
Damn well played by both players. I would have lost in 3 moves.
Also my puzzles is 2500 and my rapid is 1400 XD
I guess also as a bonus the highest estimated rating I have had is 2300 and also 2 brilliant rook sacs in a row
Yeah, I am also around 1500 and my puzzle rating is 3000
@@Millershevitz 3000!?!?! Wow im 1800 and puzzle Rating of 2600 lmao
just realised that i wouldn't have been aware of this tournament happening if it weren't for this video lol
thx for bringing chess to us, the masses
That’s actually a really great idea, for the anti-puzzles, helps your eyes find tactics and combinations. Cool stuff, I’m gonna actually go to your site more now
I’ve been slowly watching you build your empire, Levy. And it’s dope.
Magnus dropping off the title hits hard
😞
It is for him to take over his throne again as a challenger in the next season 🔥
Fear of preparation and lack of motivation for Magnus agree that because I am 100%sure
@@prarjucarju957 yup
@@johnphilip7741 he isn't going to play next season
No clickbait, no Magnus in the thumbnail, great analysis. It's like we're back in 2020.
The wait for this series has been with bated breath, but in every sport it's nice to be guaranteed that a new, never before seen champion will be crowned
Even tho there was no sacrifices this video, whenever I hear Levy scream whatever piece is getting sacrificed, it gives me more chills that hearing Goku going SSB Kaioken 20X
After seeing Ian’s defeat in 2021 I didn’t think he would have it in him mentally but I’m glad he came back for this one
He was just nervous last year and made dumb mistakes
yeah, that's the Russian power
If nepo stared at me like that I would seriously get a heart attack
Anti-puzzle is great! It's much more challenging than regular puzzle, but it's refreshing to play a mode where I can't just guess my way through the puzzle by picking the most forcing move.
Great content bro. Im a noob that loves chess, you’re breakdowns are the best
Dobrojutro
Magnus be like :
Now i don't need to prove myself
I AM THE BEST !!!
Thanks Levy for making world championship game’s entertaining.

"And now Ding
Castles his king"
why is this 720p
It's funny how we have been so used to Perfect moves by magnus in the world chess championship that it genuinely felt weird to see these top players making inaccuracies only to remember that they are humans 😅
Oh come on, even Magnus makes mistakes.
Did you copy paste the bot's comment or the bot copypasted yours?
Puzzles, where it is not guaranteed that they have a solution, is an incredible idea
I haven't really been keeping up with the content, mostly fell off of chess, but I knew this was my go-to place for coverage over the championship. Hell, I'm waiting until you post the post-game video to even find out what happened in the game, makes it more enjoyable.

Levy, you’re charismatic as hell.
The storytelling in this video was awesome - you convinced me, a guy who’s never played chess, that this draw was something spectacular.
Not only that, but you explained it in a way that made some super-complex high-level thinking accessible and exciting. Not just telling us that they’re geniuses, but showing us how.
I’m now stoked to see how the rest of the games pan out, because no matter what, it’ll be fun to hear the analysis.
This was an awesome game, and Lev keeping it exciting the whole time as usual. The kids got moxy.
another clickbait video by levy to farm views
Truly a clickbait title to draw people.
Fellow pin of honor seeker
I absolutely could not believe Ian played Bishop D6. C7 just seemed like such a natural move and there just was no threat even with the bishop on the edge of the board
The anti-puzzle stuff is *exactly* what I've been looking for! Thanks, Levy!
“Dobroye utro” was so clear so I got scared for a second
Levy never misses. Thanks for the content every day. Happy Easter! Hope it was great for you and your family.
With that positional brilliance with the knight to counter the queen capture is just astonishing. I heard Anish talk about it as well in their live stream.
These recap videos are truly the best
The puzzles where there may or may not be a tactic are GENIUS. You might also think about adding puzzles where there may or may not be a long mate on the board.
Thank you, Levy. For reminding me how awesome it was back in the day when you come home from school and the first thing you're gonna do is to immediately turn on the TV and watch Yugi disintegrating his pathetic opponents.
I love your early enthusiasm, these will be the most sophisticated games we see for a few days, and lots of them. Really looking forward to your insight that makes these games undertandable for us lesser rated players.
You have a real gift in explaining chess for the common man. Thank you for breaking this down for us. Amazing, really.
Thank you so much for the amazing recap levy!
Gotham, just wanted to say that i love your chessly+ additions. Will definitely check it out!
Levy needs an award for getting me interested in the championships
This game from Ding reminds me of Caruana vs. Ding, Candidates 2020 (First half as far as I remember). It had been a terrible tournament for him, but he somehow managed to pull that masterpiece of in between.
Really enjoy having the clocks visible, thanks for the content Levy you're crushing it
This feels like both players were 600 elo and decided to try a new opening but didn’t know more then the first few moves of the opening
I love how Levy makes this as if its a book or a movie😂
Watching Levy's recaps is the best thing.
levy i honestly loved the anti-puzzle idea
This felt like Argentine narration on the game vs Mexico in the world cup. Amazing
