good review, big difference from the R9T with proper road tyres, and gear indicator feature. Polish countryside looks great!
I love my R nine T so much and am looking forward to test riding the Scrambler. Did a lot of reading about it but haven't ridden it yet.
Nice review JoJo! 😊
I love the Racer :)
Thanx for the review. I am one of those how really likes the Karoo 3 tires. It takes some time to get used to them, works fine on roads less traveled and gravel.
Great review - I want one for my daily ride! Bring on the summer...
Beautiful looking bike. Hmm, I could be tempted... Although the R Nine T is probably easier to live with day to day. Another great video JoJo. :)
thanks for the Review. my scrambler arrive next month incl Alloy Tank. cant wait to get them :)
Love your evaluations of these bikes
Joanna your spot on about those tyres I came off a few years back tore all the tendons from my left shoulder. I think the R nine T with road tyres is an awesome machine alongside my GS1250 Best of both! Hope you’re well.
Nice review JoJo. The bike looks like it fits you well.
Love the new R9T Pure 2021 (especially in metallic teal blue matte). Definitely a head turner.
been a long time ! Nice vdo as all Time
Beautiful country
You're so right about the tyres; I had a ride on one of these and they spoil the ride completely and imo they're bloody dangerous on wet tarmac.
Your enthusiasm is great.
Scrambler or Cruiser Im confused which one should I get, any help?
@Joanna F. Benz How tall are you? I am pretty short at 5'2 and fear it might be too tall for me.
Hi there, I’ve ridden one of these also and agree with all your comments. Like you & so many others I do love it’s looks 😁 oh bye the way nice video 👍
I dont recommend those tires in anything else either! I tried:) I totally agree with you. Mitas E10 rear and Metzeler karoo 2 (not 3 as on this bike) in the front is what I would have done. Looks cool as well.
I fitted road tyres to my R nine T GS urban and its Awesome to ride on the road
Have you ever tried the ducati scrambler 1100 sport you change the way you think about scrambler bikes its a star
I rode on one of these a few weeks back and concluded much the same - a lovely looking machine but those tyres are just awful on the road....they look great though. They might work off-road but let's face it who is really going to take an R9T off-road?? Thanks for posting the review, enjoyed watching it....all the best - TMF
TheMissendenFlyer I will, most of the miles I have put on mine is on gravel.
Fair enough....
Tobias Lindstedt yeah, parking on your drive way haha
Max Evans I don't think I understand your response.
Put some pirellis on it and its Fine
Cool review Joanna. Where were you riding in this video? Also, do you ever visit Los Angeles?
Good review - thanks.
Good review....after test riding the Urban gs with those tyres I can imagine they must be horrible in the cold and damp. My test ride was on a warm sunny day and they were ok ,but very noisy. I think BMW must have lost a few sales fitting test ride bikes with the Karoo's. BUT....I loved the bike itself...so much character and lovely looking. That engine is excellent. It's the kind of bike to buy ...modify to suit yourself and keep forever! Steve
i love that bike a lot.....retro look is cool.
The off road tyres are not so bad, I really like them on the road. I have experience from them on GS, you can push them very hard on the road, it would surprise a lot of people. I do understand that riders without experience on tyres like this may feel a little uncomfortable to start with. I found that many riders get use to them after a couple of short rides. I think the TKC 70 would probably suit the riders who are looking for another solution.Happy Trails!
Thank you very much for the review. I checked out your route on Google Maps; that part of Poland looks great for motorcycle touring and is accessible from the ferry ports of Belgium and France that connect to the UK (where I live). The Villa Rubinstein looks pretty amazing (pretty _and_ amazing) too! Would you recommend both the area and Villa Rubinstein? I wish you happy and safe riding... it'll be warmer soon! :)
The Scrambler is the only BMW I would buy. I miss my old R1100GS. The flat twin is my favourite engine configuration.
always perfect. thank
Enjoyed this review…
Missing you Jo please come back & entertain us with your reviews
is it good for beginner
pls reply
Love this :)
Iv got the Racer and Love it :)
Finally in Poland:)
To była tylko kwestia czasu! ;)
Hey Jo, thanks for your video.
PLEASE DON'T TAKE THIS THE WRONG WAY - IT IS ONLY WRITTEN IN THE INTEREST OF KEEPING YOU SAFE.
May I suggest that you leave a minimum of (3) seconds between you and the rider/vehicle in front of you. You ride way to close to the rider in front of you. Another tip; position yourself in the opposite side of the lane to a rider in front. This, plus the 3 seconds, leaves you maximum reaction time in an emergency stop or turn. It may even save your life one day.
Beautiful !!
Interesting review.
So you would like to know which gear you're in?! Who shifted them for you then?
nais review 👍🏼
nice review thanks
I see this week your in Poland
"Why is everythings so big"....I had to beg my immaturity to please not make a joke lol
They are dual sport tyres so they will be more road bias as they are, those particular tyres I believe are 80% road 20% offroad and work well on both if you were more confident you would not be ranting about the tyres, it is not really an offroad bike just in looks, I love these tyres and can keep up with the Urban GS on road based tyres. and have to agree with G ride on your bike positioning on the road.
Welcome to Poland, the Mexico of Europe.
I literally laughed.
im from mexico , how come?? lol
maybe because polish cuisine is as fat as mexican cuisine is famous for?
I don't agree though. Poland and Mexico are very distinct. Just Catholicism is a major common denominator.
LOL - so precise.......
I think the comment was directed at both countries being shit holes.
You look amazing on the bike! ;)
I'm sure she is very sweet and innocent and does not have a dirty mind or intend for anything to be vulgar. great vids Jojo your smile and your love for such a great sport is awesome!
Nice roads! Maybe worth a visit? :-) If you add a rev-counter you'll have the gearindicator in the lcd-display together with temp.
that's what everyman wants to hear when a leg is thrown over, "why so Big" :D, great video thanks JoJo
For me you are wrong on nearly every point. I'm 183cm so the riding position is perfect.... for me. I have road tyres so it rides, handles very well. I found the suspension from new very hard. 3000km later its much better or I'm used to it. My heated grips are VERY hot but I use light weight gloves. I've just been in a 2500km tour and comfort was fine. The riding position means I can cruise at 150kmh which is enough? I agree with you! The bike looks & sounds great. Brakes are very powerful, it wheelies everywhere. I like not having a rev counter and gear position indicator. Mine also changes gear with out the clutch no problem at all AS LONG as you don't load the pedal before dipping the throttle.
What did you think of the Tyres Jo?
Not sure.. Haven't quite made up my mind just yet.. ;)
I hope you'll do it with Triumph also, waiting for it
She going to say ah it's too small!! Ohh, no vibration!
Wonder what Jo Jo is doing now?
I sat on one at the Zurich Moto Show last year, and also thought it was quite large. Like most BMW's, it's made for big Germans.
You're quite right! I feel small on all BMWs. Well, unusually small ;)
I liked the moment you said "it's so big" lol
smh
Cutest review ever
~YEAH~
Nice Nice ❤️
ale fajny akcent!
I think you were reacting to being cold during the first part of the video. (I ride both sports bikes and naked bikes down to freezing or slightly below, and it is of course a matter of getting your clothing sorted out so you are comfortable and can still move around easily. Then, the lack of wind protection is really just a feature of upright/naked vs. tucked behind a fairing). I think the decision not to include a gear selector shows that this model was intended for not only someone looking for the retro look, but also someone who--as you indicated--wants to just cruise along and concentrate on the bike and the ride. That is, it is for those times you want to enjoy the variations of shifting with the clutch and throttle and mentally keep track of the gear position. It certainly is a nice looking variant, and it was encouraging that--apart from the semi knobby tires---you grew to love the bike by the end of the day!
Awesome video and bike. Btw how tall are you?
Thank you! I'm 5'4 :)
Did you end up purchasing it?
She likes it Big!! Ohh the vibration!!
Hahaha she likes saying that!
How tall are you???
+Alex P 5'4
I did not even read Poland, when I skipped Joanna's review straight to the riding. Her accent did not sound Polish, but the roads looked totally like in there.
I don't think Poland is the Mexico of Europe. Poland has its own identity, it does not need comparisons, but that's just my opinion.
there's nothing more enjoyable than a handsome girl riding a handsome bike talking professionally about the motorcycle...
You mean beautiful
Cool video. You're like the Nigella of motovlogging :)
This is one of the nicest things I’ve ever read in the comments section. Thank you SO much! ☺️💙
Joanna F. Benz You are very welcome :) I’ve watched a few of your videos since and learned about your son, your dad, your job etc. All that while living in a foreign country... you’re an incredible person.
Heated vest and a windshield = winter bike :)
You are invited to ride in western Canada any summer

Re burnout: just doing your civic duty and sanitising the rear tyre. Appreciated! One good-looking bike.
Also, doing my civic duty by reminding everyone to never buy an ex-demo bike! ;)
Has a nice rear end.
Just seen you on A27 heading east 😬😬
HA! I had a meeting with Harley Davidson folks... Shhh, don't tell BMW I'm cheating on them! ;)
良いバイクですね、乗りたいな。

So it vibrates , tyres are horrible , suspension is soft and bounces you up and down.....but the bike is gorgeous and enjoyable......... oh and the tyres are terrible... oh and the tyres are terrible . wow . wtf
Where is your accent from? Cute voice
hey jo!! OK? great video! new sub. Rebecca xx
Riding it like my grandmother why do you complain about the tires so much? You never skidded or lost traction. !
Mizz Jachine.
'Ooh the viibraaaaatttionnn.....' [Cut to RedTube]
I"m shocked (pun intended) that you didn't like the stock suspension on this thing. If it's anything like the ones on the R9T, they are shit. It was the first mod I made on my R9T when I got it because they were *that* bad.
Yes finally a beautiful girl with my love
I've seen plenty of BMW GS riders using those exact tires kicking sport bikers asses in the twisties.
Those tyres work well on gravel, light sand but you can't compare them to sport/touring road tyres. Ever.
No one compared them to sport/touring tires.
So what is it then, that makes GS with adventure tyres quicker than sports bike ?
You totally missed the point. The point is those adventure tires are fine for the street. Are they the best? Not always, but for this style of bike they come close. And in the hands of a skilled rider will be able to keep up with anyone else on the street.
And what if sport bike has been ridden by another experienced rider ?
It will blow GS out of the water, knobbly tyres and all.
I ride GS myself, hard and fast but it's not easy to keep up.
Lot of complaining- years ago bikes never told you what gear you where in or how much petrol you had (you look in the tank) - knacked bike ? Pffft. You sound irish sometimes. You didn’t like the knobbly tires. Others have said they are ok. They look good.
Interesting review, I understand your feelings.. I haven't ridden it, but it sounds like it is aimed at old geezers, not young women. I thought that 44 teeth overrated the bike and I did post a dismissive comment that I later withdrew cuz it's not nice to be mean. You are more suited to sports bikes I think, hence your epic video at Cartagena. Excitement rules...and you don't need a beard, which you do with this bike.
Great looking bike let down by cheap looking forks.
😍😍😍😍😍😍💥💣👍
Heated vest! Heated vest...
