  • Often called the king of spices, black pepper is known to offer several health benefits while providing an excellent depth of flavour to any dish.
It’s one of the oldest spices in the world, and has been used as a medicine for centuries.
let’s jump right into its benefits.
    1. May Prevent Cancer
Black pepper contains an antioxidant called piperine. A study conducted in Michigan's cancer institute found that the black pepper along with turmeric could prevent the growth of cancerous stem cells in breast tumours. You can consume black pepper and turmeric together in the form of milk, mixing the two together. Many people believe that black pepper and turmeric are incredibly powerful when combined together.
    2. Good for Digestion:
Black pepper helps in good digestion, especially when it’s consumed raw, which causes the stomach to release hydrochloric acid, or stomach acid. This acid helps your body to break down, digest, and absorb nutrients such as protein. It also eliminates bacteria and viruses in the stomach, protecting your body from infection.
    3. Prevents Constipation:
As we already know, black pepper contains the bioactive compound piperine, which is an alkaloid like capsaicin, the active component found in chili powder and cayenne pepper. This compound can stimulate the GI system and get things moving, helping to prevent constipation. Just make sure not to rely on black pepper consumption for constipation relief, because too much of the stuff can be harmful.
    4. Treats Skin Problems:
Though there are many medicines available for restoring or maintaining even skin colour, black pepper is said to protect your skin from any sort of skin pigmentation and help maintain the original colour of your skin.
Because of its high piperine content, which test tube studies have found to have potent antioxidant properties, black pepper also prevents premature ageing, dark spots, wrinkles, and other skin aging-related conditions.
    5. Good for Your Hair:
The vitamin C present in black pepper can help in cleaning your scalp and getting rid of dead skin cells, making it an effective natural anti-dandruff treatment. You can simply add some black pepper powder to virgin oil and massage deeply on your scalp, ensuring that the hair roots and tips are covered properly.
    6. Aids in Weight Loss:
Black pepper can help you shed weight. It’s loaded with Vitamins A, C, and K, minerals, and healthy fatty acids, and works as a natural metabolic booster which makes it a storehouse of uncountable health benefits, including weight loss. You can try adding black pepper to green tea and drinking two to three times a day for the best weight loss benefits.
    7. Treats Depression:
Piperine, that popular compound in black pepper inhibits an enzyme that breaks down the calming neurotransmitter serotonin. According to a recent study, this makes black pepper potentially useful in the treatment of some mood disorders. While black pepper is a natural mood enhancer, it goes without saying that you shouldn’t attempt to use it to cure a serious case of depression.
    8. Helps in Treating Respiratory Diseases:
People have been using black pepper to treat colds and coughs for years - but why? It’s largely because black pepper is antibacterial and antibiotic in nature, due to the presence of immunity-boosting Vitamin C in it. It’s commonly used alongside honey to remedy cold. Simply crush a teaspoon of black peppercorns and consume them with a tablespoon of honey. Adding a pinch of turmeric to the mix will provide extra cold-fighting benefits, as curcumin, an active compound found in turmeric, helps clear respiratory infections, suppress cough and build overall immunity.
    9. Reduces Joint Pain:
Black pepper is a warrior when it comes to fighting joint pain, and unsurprisingly to anyone, it’s because of its compound, piperine, again. Piperine has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic properties. It improves blood circulation and gives relief from arthritis and rheumatism, as well as getting rid of toxins such as uric acid from the body, improving the condition of people suffering from arthritis, rheumatism and gout.
Not only that, but black pepper helps desensitize a specific pain receptor in your body, which can further reduce feelings of discomfort. So whether you’re dealing with post-workout pain or you’re trying to recover from a long-term inflammatory joint condition, try upping your black pepper intake today.

Your video pronounces turmeric wrong also!
How strange the world has become! Did you just arbitrarily alter a word's standard pronunciation stress because you want to be different? That's a fail!
