We met in person. 3 years together and 6 trips starting in 2017. We were engaged 2019 and prepared for our wedding in 2020. Our wedding was supposed to be April 2020 but due to the crazy coof my flight was cancelled in March 2020. It was a tough pill to swallow. I starting to notice some warning signs, some odd behavior in late February early March. I found out in August that in January 2020, just a few months before we were to be married she was back with her ex. How does that even happen? It doesn’t matter if you meet someone online or in person. A bad person is a bad person. It didn’t take me long to move on and put it behind me. That is life. Pick up the pieces, move forward and don’t look back.

I've only watched a few of your videos, but have learned a lot. Learning about scammers is critical for western guys. I had a Filipina try to scam me claiming her mother died and they didn't have the money to bury her.
I didn't have any previous experience with something like this but asked around and found out that she is nothing but serious trouble. Everything about her was a lie and she had no shame when I confronted her about it.
Anyways, I learned quickly (thank God) but I know there are tons of guys who fall for these scams.
Thanks so much for putting out info that could literally keep someone from being destroyed mentally and financially.

Scammers and gold diggers are in every country and not just the Philippines. It is best to just go slow and get to know the person well before thinking to get into a relationship with them. I've seen Filipinos who were very good at scamming guys. There are many sweet and honest Filipinas who do desire a husband and who would make a great wife. And it's also sad there are a lot of guys who just use Filipinas for fun and sex and break their hearts after they tell them how much they love them and then just leave them for the next pretty girl they see and want. Take your time to really know the person and don't get crazy in lust because she may be beautiful and sexy. That beautiful, sexy, sweet girl may have a husband and child and other boyfriends which I've seen here in the Philippines.

This is a great video and all very true. This is not limited to just strangers. What she didn't mention is even your wife's "distant relatives" try to be your online friends and will try to get at your wallet in the Philippines. They will give you all kind of crazy excuses. My husband left me, my son needs medication, my house got hit by a typhoon, etc. I play along and flip the script on them by playing like I am going to help, but never send any money!! They start bugging me and bugging me, and eventually, they block me. 🤣😂

Fortunately I didn't fall for any scams. Although being someone new to dating websites in February, I quickly learned there are so many scammers. I was able to pick up on clues (I even started a list of warning signs). I almost got pulled into investing in a piggery because it seemed real and she was able to quote the costs of things and send photos of an empty area where the pigs would be. The warning sign was how eager she was to talk about the business day and night. As soon as I asked for a video chat. She was gone.

From my part i made this mistake because i was in love, they use many ways to ask for help and make you feel guilty and help your future Asawa ko. But at the end the truth will come in light. Great video, Rubeauti - and some really sad stories in the comments. I am so glad you didn't give away any money! For western guys, there are many scam websites pretending to be Asian or Eastern European. I am so pleased that I have a Filipina gf I video chat with for an hour every day. There's also pig-baiting, where attractive (often 'Asian' - though you might never really know) ladies (are they really?) tempt you into investing into something generating amazing returns on a platform that does not really exist. You never get any money back: it's gone. I've had that tried on me a couple of times. This is such an important topic: well done for covering this. :)

I lived in Namibia in the 1990s as a teenager and my brother accidentally caused my parrot to escape. We posted notices with reward money. We were scammed with a long story that kept having more layers. We ended up in the slums and giving someone cash while waiting in a taxi. They said it was too dangerous as a white person… they never came back. My mother and I laughed at ourselves. We felt it was a scam but wanted the bird back.
This was a small matter but I think I learned a bit about wishful thinking shaping judgments.

Good job with this video just being real. Thanks for sharing helping people not become victims. Poverty will make a person do just about anything, and being a Filipino, and all the love they have for their families, its easy for them to justify taking money to feed their families, Understandable, but guys need to know whats really going on with some of the people that are very poor, iv'e been there before and made friends girls and guys and they never asked me for money or even wanted to. they didn't earn that much but were professionals in their occupations and i admired them, and i met very poor people offering me some food or a drink of beer walking down the street or just say hello. I've been moved by their lifestyle and how they interact with each other is almost like all brothers and sisters. The whole country for the most part has a serious bond in love which i find attractive . Many different cultures should learn from them. I Love The Philippines. Be cause of the people! Thank you all for your fine hospitality when i was visiting.

I met one of those scammers that were asking for private photos. The excuse she used was "I heard foreigners are bigger than Filipinos. Can you please show me?" I can't imagine anyone falling for this, but some have.
I always tell everyone that the easiest and BEST way to meet a wonderful Filipina (like my wife) is to go to the Philippines. Spend some time there. Understand their culture and lifestyle. Meet them there. If you want a long term relationship and you want her to eventually come to your country, it will cost a lot of money to do it. So if you don't have the money to go spend a few weeks or more in the Philippines, you probably won't have the money for all the paperwork and everything else involved in bringing her to you. Also, in the USA, it is very rare for a visa to be given without the two of you meeting in person. So you'll need to go to the Philippines at some point anyway.
So again, just plan on going to the Philippines. The longer the time you are there, the better.

An American guy I know has had a long distance relationship with a much younger Filipino woman, for a number of years.
He's been going to see her twice per year for a month at a time & sending her money every month in-between.
It turns out that she's been married all along & her husband has been in on the scam of draining the American guys money.
What gets me is, having a gf thousands of miles away for 10months of the year is no recipe for a good, healthy relationship anyhow.
In my mind either commit 100% or not at all.
By not doing so, he found out the hard way, she wanted his money & nothing else.

I've been with my Filipina for three years, and this is what I've learned.
#1. Never send any amount of money that you're not willing to lose by either giving it to her or investing in a house/Lot / buisness. Always Be prepared to cut your loses and walk away.
#2. You don't need to tell her exactly how much money you make or how much wealth you have . Make a budget and agree that the amount in the budget is hers to spend and when it's gone it's gone.
#3. Never ever bring her back home to the west. Make her live in the Philippines and visit once or twice a year until you're ready to relocate there.

It is sad that there are so many ways to scam people but most prey upon the lonely and desperate who maybe don't socialize very well. I fell into a scam with an online app, they start out fine and sweet then after a while might ask for help with an emergency or some excuse. Then it is something else until you finally get suspicious. IF it is too good to be true then it probably is. All you can do is move on and don't be stupid twice. If it happens again then it is your own fault and not the other persons. Rubeauti have you considered setting up a Patreon account? Good luck and stay safe.

If they post in Filipino languages, they usually assume that you don't understand or won't interpret it.. Kids accounts will tell on mom too. I am lucky to be married to a wonderful and honest Filipino lady, and never met as fine a lady in the states.

Most of us are too much in a hurry so we look online instead of waiting until we are there. Online scams happen online. Yes, I found mine online and it's been great. Thanks for the great video again.

Great, sound advice Rubeauti. It is interesting seeing all these freshly and not so freshly scammed guys shooting their shot with you in their comments.. My comment is late but I think a part of the problem is many men, no matter where, tend to project their attraction on a woman, Filipina other otherwise, with even mere politeness or friendliness on the woman's part. Unfortunately because it is just projection, they think their target of their affection is as equally as enamored in them.. Especially when they do not notice signs, body language etc that the female really has no interest in them. But they move forward regardless. I used to do this too so I understand the behavior.

Hi Rubeaui. Very good topic and one guys should be paying attention too. Scammers come in many forms and will try anything to get what they want from you. I can't even begin to tell you how many I have come across in my time online chatting with people. Some are very bold and ask right up front on the first time chatting some wait a while to ask for help and in most cases you can see it coming before it happens if you are paying attention. I even had one try to get money from me using the Pandemic saying her brother was arrested for being out past curfew and needed money to get him out of jail. In the past I have sent money to some for a birthday or something like that but no great amount. Some never chatted after I sent them a few dollars some did for a while but suddenly disappeared and some asked for birthday money a second time in the same year. Needless to say they got no response. I have an ex there that was great till meeting in person and it never worked out cause I really felt like I was being used and some things happened when I was there that did not add up and after I returned home suddenly she needed help for everything even though she had a good job. Moral of the story is pay attention to the conversation and never promise anything and don't send money and most important meet in person and spend time 24/7 with them and see how things go. Keep up the good work with your videos Rubeauti. I always enjoy them a lot. You are very beautiful and any guy would be lucky to have you as his partner. Keep smiling and stay safe my dear

1 common trend iv found, is they claim to not know their home address, or they have extreme problems 1 after the other. 1 claimed her mother was in the hospital with blood sugar over 500 but sent money to a "friend" then in the same few days they claim their phone isn't working and they need more money, can't get a job, contracted food posioning. Can't afford food. Won't video call, or promise to do things the next day but change the subject, lots of gaslighting.

I had a filipina who was very good in her scam. A single mom who always brought out a chaperon with us for one year. After one year I found out the chaperon was the father of her baby. She gave a plausible excuse for him to come along. I also met her lola tito tatay and ate. The ate often came out with us. It was not the traditional meet with the lola which I thought was odd. just a quick hi and rush me off to the other room. So when she asked for me to go for the home run I declined. Two years later I finally met the lola without her there and everything was in the open. The lola told me to leave her as she was scamming. one year later Karma got her and she took a OFW job where she thought it was a hotel job but she became a bar girl.

I came close to getting scammed but I watched enough videos with similar advice during the Pandemic (while waiting to travel there) that I was able to keep any money I sent to a minimum -- and I always considered it a donation, mostly to help CZcamsrs who were just starting out and needed help with their new channels. As far as personal relationships, I will not send any money overseas and I will wait until I get there to try to meet someone to spend the rest of my life with.

One of the first Filipinas that I talked to on a dating site last year lied on her profile saying that she was not married and had no kids. Turned out that she is married to a guy that left her to go work in Dubai and she has two children with him. The legal problems that can arise from being with a woman like that are dangerous for a foreign guy. Not to mention that if she was willing to lie like that, there’s no way to trust her about anything else.

Then if they do video chat but only once in awhile or at certain times only, that's the next red flag...
An final asking for money from the start is the biggest red flag they are a scammer....

I did get scammed. This was before I had ever even thought about going to the Philippines. I had "followed" woman on Facebook that I thought was attractive. I would see pictures and videos that she would post form time to time...nothing unusual, and I had no reason to suspect that she was anything other than what she appeared, and she really wasn't. After several months, I think I had commented on a photo or something, and she had commented back. Eventually this led to chatting. It was all pretty normal...nothing overtly sexual, or any kind of "special" pictures...just normal conversation. Well eventually, she just came out and asked me for some help to fix her family's broken refrigerator. I didn't think anything of it, and asked her how much she needed. I think it was about $150 American. So I said sure, how do I send it? I had now idea how much money that really was for a Filipina. She thanked me profusely, and I think even sent a couple of videos saying thank you. ( not dirty...just regular videos ) I didn't think anything of it. Then a few weeks later, she was asking for more money for something else...I don't remember what. And again, I said sure, no problem. By this time, I think she figured that she had her a sugar daddy. There was never any talk of me coming over there or anaything...just friendly requests for more money. About this time I started to see videos popping up on CZcams about this topic, I think by the Filipina Pea. That's when I realized......Now I know...and I won't send a single penny over to anyone over there. Thank you for these videos!

I loved this video. I signed up for a one month period on a dating site and within 2 days had over 1000 likes and hundreds of wanting to chats. I selected 4 ladies to chat with and one by one started marking them off due to many of the signs you mentioned here. Way too many compliments (oh, I liked them but there were a lot), one wanted to call the first day and when I called her she let me know how hard her life was to get me to feel. As and send her money, one after two days of talking let asked me for money. Because her mom was in hospital for an emergency, another wanted money to start a buisness so she would be financially set for when I come to visit, the fourth I had hopes for until she told me she couldn’t send me any photos of herself or video chat because her phone was to old. So I stopped the dating site. I am planning on buy the Philippines next summer and possibly moving there in two years. Was hoping to getting to know someone as a tour guide and friend before I come over next summer but now just plan on winging it. Lol

I was in the PH years back just out of Uni. The ladies were getting many hundreds to thousands of old fashioned pen-pal letters. Some put shoe boxes of them outside their boarding houses, etc. But, the ladies I met IRL shocked me with photos of old men they were courting by mail. They needed money for a better life for their their entire extended family. These same ladies would ask me if I'd be the father of their child, but didn't love me. Also, after professing love, they could just ghost me (light switch suddenly goes out when they can't get money). You have to be able to stomach the poverty and crimes you will encounter IRL. You see the posts of guys saying they have a great wife and dozens of kids, but I'd say there are 99 more who got badly burned. Bottom line, just don't get your hopes up too high. Initially, it will seem like you can find true love (happy). Later on you realize it's not. Peace.

@@bobbruce4135 I’m not going in hopes of finding true love or love at all for that matter. I did the dating thing as an experiment due to the fact I follow several CZcamsrs who have had guests on their shows. The guest talk about how badly they got burned or went broke quickly by giving their money to their “love” and then their love moved on. Each guest said they met their “girlfriends on the dating sites and were soon sending them money without ever meeting them. So out of curiosity (because I like to see things for myself) I signed up for Filipino Cupid. And I was shocked, not fooled, by how many ladies thought I was all that and a bag of chips. As each one made their way to asking for money I wished them a good life and deleted them. I will have to admit the last one lasted two weeks before getting around to it. I feel bad for guys that truly fall for this and go over thinking they are meeting the love of their life to find out they’ve been a little careless with their finances. I’ve simply been playing with the idea of moving abroad to help retirement go further and this is one of the areas that are suggested. I’ve got several I’m going to visit in the next couple years.

Great video as always! This is off topic but have you ever considered doing a video on STI/STDs in the PH? What are the most common ones, attitudes, how to bring up a discussion with your (future) partner and avoid stigmas, where a couple could get tested, costs involved, and how to handle a situation where it turns out a test returns positive. What people consider an STD. For example here in the US a lot of people are in denial that HSV is an STI ( I think it's likely that those people may have it and want to dismiss it as an issue). Even medical professionals down play it (HSV). The older I get the more I run into this issue. It's a hard issue to deal with when one person has it and the other does not. It's a hard decision to step back. I have tried to think about how my partner would handle the situation if the roles were reversed and base my decision to proceed on that. This topic gets very little attention on the PH vlogs I watch so I am suggesting it to vloggers I watch. Thanks!
