    I love the Deepmind. The sliders for one really make it so much more usable and easier to remember than dials. Thanks for this brilliant video. I have subscribed 👍

    I'm working on a cover of "Tears in the Rain" from Blade Runner using only a Deepmind 12, and this gave me a really good staring point for the pads, great work!

    This is an amazing patch, I shared this on the gearslutz Deepmind 12 thread

    This is awesome, thanks for taking the time and sharing. I was on the verge of buying a string machine, but honestly, this comes pretty darn close to what I was after and sounds really beautiful :)

    Thanks for this!! I bought the deepmind 12 for several reasons. One was that I was hoping I could emulate a syntorchestra in the mode of klaus schulze.

    I had a Waldorf string machine and sold it to put money towards my deepmind! This is very close. I’ll try it out when I get the chance. Thank you.

    Sounds beautiful! I really love this synth. By the way, at 5:32 you can change the LFO's shape easier by holding down the LFO's edit key and move its corresponding rate slider.

    It does sound beautiful and lush, but it's not exactly the kind of sound you'd expect from a string synth. Maybe if you open up the filter and take off the delay so you can hear all the sizzlyness string synths are famous for.. I'd love to hear how that sounds!

    Here's a challenge for you - see if you can emulate the distinct sound of the Juno-60 chorus with the Deepmind 12. I haven't been able to do it. By the way, this sounds incredible what you did here.

    • @johnrichardson3297
      @johnrichardson3297 Před 6 lety

      Juno-60 Chorus is an Algorithm chorus, you need the specific pedal to emulate it,

    Very nice! I too own a DM12 Rackmount. Coincidentally I just shelled out for a Waldorf StreichFett. It’s very hands on for strings. But your example shows how versatile the DeepMind actually is. Keep creating these video’s! Love them!

      The StreichFett is very neat, I am thinking about adding one after the holidays when I get more space for my setup.

    Beautiful stringssound with stringmachine character! I would like to hear this patch without internal Chorus through my Wersi Voice :-)

  • @marcmistermarc
    @marcmistermarc Před 4 lety

    Hi Yuki, that’s brilliant. Would it work as well on the Deepmind 6 or would it not have enough polyphony ?

    • @crashedsite
      @crashedsite Před 4 lety +1

      You can see only 3 lights lightning up (of the 12 lights, each representing 1 voice of the 12 voice polyphony) when he plays chords, so 3 finger chords using only 3 voices, so this should be fine on a Deepmind 6, I was wondering the same thing, wanting to buy a Deepmind 6 :)

    If you only have money to buy one VC340 or a Deepmind 6. What would you buy?

    • @YukiTheSynthDragon
      @YukiTheSynthDragon  Před 4 lety +1

      Personally the deepmind, but I say that having no use for the vocoder.

    • @danielaragao
      @danielaragao Před 4 lety

      @@YukiTheSynthDragon The vocoder is nice but feels too luxury to pay 500 just for the vocoder. Can you get the same strings and choir of the VC340 on the Deepmind? or something similar?

    • @danielaragao
      @danielaragao Před 4 lety

      Also I already have an Odyssey...

    • @YukiTheSynthDragon
      @YukiTheSynthDragon  Před 4 lety

      @@danielaragao Not sure, never tried a choir sound.

    • @Goettel
      @Goettel Před 4 lety +1

      @@danielaragao Maybe you made up your mind already, but my 2c: you won't get the choir sounds of the 340 on the DM, unless maybe you're a great programmer. Even then, you won't be able to stack your choir with strings, as the DM has no stacking. The VC340 is quite limited, but its sound is iconic. As a first synth, the DM is a much better buy, but if you want THAT sound, get the VC340. For the price, save up to get them both :-)
