      Wrong this is a powerful scene that the fact that spiderman is only 17 freaking years old in the movie (ant may told Peter that 2 years ago uncle Ben died) and guess hoe much FORCE, STRENGTH requires for a teenage spiderman to stop this 200 mph running freaking huge train with humans inside it. No marvel movie will ever make better hero or more emotional super hero movie than the original 3 spiderman movies... just re watch spider man 2 and you will see how the actors perform and how sad and amazing this piece of art movie is

    A lot of people comment on his facial expressions in this scene. If he looked like he was stopping the train effortlessly, this wouldn't have been nearly as intense and it would have looked REALLY dumb if he had a smug look on his face.

      Haha well I actually thought he did great portraying Spidey....not so much as Peter Parker. I liked them both for different reasons. Tobey had that lovable dorky charm and nobility that made you root for him and buy into the idea of him saving people, Andrew got the webslinger's wittiness and cocky attitude down although there were a couple times he came across as more of a douche than a kid having fun.

      I would say if a film or idea has 3 or more it's a franchise (Fast and Furious, X-Men, Spider-Man, Star Wars, Dark Knight, Superman, Jurassic Park, Harry Potter, Back To The Future, Toy Story, Transformers) the one exception is the MCU films Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Ant-Man, Guardians Of The Galaxy, & The Incredible Hulk as all those films are intertwined. If it's just 2 it's the original and the sequel (Ghostbusters, The Amazing Spider-Man, Tim Burtons Batman, JS's Batman)

    • @megapulsar9244
      @megapulsar9244 Před 6 lety +1

      shindean give Andrew a chance. Sure he didn't do anything as near as stopping a fucking train at full speed, but he had his great moments too. I'm thinking about the rescue scene on the bridge where he saves the little boy in the car, it's actually in some way a similar type of action scene, using his great strength to hold on to the car *with only one hand* . It's not as impressive, I give you that, but still, it's got it's own charm.

  • @adammalkovich187
    @adammalkovich187 Před 8 lety +165

    Andrew Garfield is a good actor...but Tobey Mcquire totally nailed playing Spiderman and Peter Parker, because I can tell he really gave it his all at the end of this scene. Also, as many of you are already saying, I don't think any superhero film accomplished a scene as well as this. I mean, Spiderman swings into battle Doc Ock, where the fight actually looked realistic. I mean, Doc Ock's tentacles actually look like moving metal arms and not a bunch of overboard CGI. If that's not enough, the fight was very satisfying, and clearly demonstrated what both characters are fully capable of along with what they both would do in extremely tight situations. It seems like villains get away too easily in a lot of movies, but Doc Ock gets away by actually using his brain and speeds the train up endangering people. Peter is not given any time to rest and has to use basically all of his powers and strength to stop the train to the point where he passes out. You could say he was lucky to save those people...but come one, he clearly gave everything he could and that's what makes a great scene.
    This fight lasted long too, and when you add the part where Peter has to save the train, it adds up to about 6 minutes of action...and that's not counting the other two fight scenes in the movie.
    All the fights in The Amazing Spiderman movies are too short, don't show off everything each character can do, end up too easy, simple, or sometimes stupid. I wanted Electro to be the best Spiderman fight ever, but it ended up being a huge disappointment.

    Tobey was a way more believable spiderman cause Peter Parker was supposed to be this nerd that everyuone picked on, wasn't particularly handsome, and he gains super powers. The New peter parker is super handsome and smart and cool and I'm supposed to believe that someone like that got bullied in school....just stop it. Tobey was such a good spiderman. Fuck the rest.

    • @ruvelf
      @ruvelf Před 9 lety +29

      SkateDelMar Peter Parker was a good looking nerd that everyone picked on because he was studious and mild-mannered. He gains super powers, and as a result, becomes way more confident and cool. He achieves the affections of multiple beautiful girls and gains multiple friends, including his high school bully Flash Thompson. The Peter Tobey played is too much of an awkward nerd, and the Peter Andrew played was too much of the opposite.
      We have yet to see a Peter Parker that is has a 100% accurate depiction. If you don't believe me, get your hands on some of the early issues of TASM to see that Peter is not nearly as awkward and nerdy as the (fantastic) Raimi movies make him out to be.

      +AuroraS 92 A teenage Spiderman isn't true to the plot. Teenage Spiderman would NOT get involved in Civil War, and if he did, he'd be on Cap's side from the start since he wouldn't want to reveal his identity. It actually would have been better if they brought Tobey back, since he would be married to Mary Jane by then and teach at Midtown.

    While others heroes may be stronger or faster, Spiderman has all that any hero really needs: heart, perserverance, and a hell of a lot of courage - and he's got 'em in spades.

    Seriously, this is what makes Spider-Man such a great superhero. He is very weak compared to the rest of the superheroes in the Marvel universe but he never hesitates in putting his life on the line to save others. Iron Man could stop the train in 10 seconds but for Peter its extremely difficult. Still, he does it anyway. Basically, he's a great person.
