    The Voron D is one of my favourite trucks. I run it with OHD I tires. It's a lot more stable that way.

    I love the freightliner M916A1. To me it seems like a heavy in an offroad package. It'll pull a 5 slot trailer through just about anything, even the super 8 if the terrain isn't too bad

    The Grad has to be 1st for me in hard mode. I pull a 5 slot stepdeck semi trailer with a loaf packed on the upper deck to get an extra +/- 60 gallons of fuel. Its my go to heavy hauler. Until I get the elite engine for it I'm quite happy with the stock engine because I can run that thing forever without a refuel, and its got enough power to maintain a pace equal to the one provided by a better engine, cause power does not mean speed in bad areas. The stock engine has to have about 65% the consumption of the 2nd best.

    One thing that I kind of feel is missing from alot of snowrunner content is a general explanation of the classes. Outside scout the other trucks generally don't have clearly defined roles. Why would a player want to have a heavy truck and a heavy duty truck in their fleet. Does a certain class have more than one role? If so should plan to acquire multiple examples of one class to fill those roles? Are highway trucks just cleverly disguised cash rewards or do they actually perform a worthwhile and unique role?
    I mean a vehicle can be S tier but if it's in a class that is otherwise out-performed is it still useful?

    • @NProvince
      @NProvince  Před 2 lety +7

      Thats a very good question, but very hard to answer via comment. So The Heavy class vehicles generally are bigger, bulkier trucks with less addons, but as a whole are made to do things like, rescues, high saddle hauling, and overall support, but alot of them have the addon support to fullfil more roles like hauling cargo, via low saddle, on the vehicles frame, and also haul logs.
      Each truck class isnt necessarily held to doing a certain thing, unless it simply doesnt have the addon. The role it can fullfil is basically the drivers judgement.
      I can tell you that I have been using lesser trucks with great success and its mostly due to good driving, decision making, and overall planning. Alot of my videos go over things like this, but if you're new to the game, this channel should help you :)

    • @ldmtag
      @ldmtag Před 2 lety +3

      Classes means nothing. You choose what you like by sound, add-ons, handling, etc.
      For example, I believe, there's no thing that 5070 can do that 2070 can't. So I use 5070 in normal gameplay and a free combination of 2070 + ANK in Hard Mode. I also wanna try 114SD but I've never reached lv20🤣
      So far 5070 has the best sound, the best appearance (silver-green color, "hinged" front bumper, cabin protector, flat bed, mud tires with second rims, exhaust with flipping caps). It's good offroad but I feel like ANK with stock tires does a better job. So now I have an inner conflict, I don't know which truck to choose, help me... I don't need them both, they do the same role: trailer towing in extreme offroad conditions + recovery (which, to be honest, I never do cos I can play the damn game).

    • @NProvince
      @NProvince  Před 2 lety +2

      @@ldmtag The 5070 is one of my favs!!!! Honestly I would have a normal mode to try out trucks and then you can plan to buy them in hardmode IF you like them. I think being an experienced player like you are; you'll so well with whatever truck

    • @ldmtag
      @ldmtag Před 2 lety

      @@NProvince we both love 5070 but the developers seem to just really hate it.
      I get why they "balanced" ANK giving it a small tank, thirsty engine and making its signature tires sorta below average - they tried not to create an OP thing that makes other trucks irrelevant (caugh-Tayga-caugh). Just imagine how broken it would be if it had access to efficient 2300 engine and 240 liter tank. F the crane and other add-ons, it can tow trailers, and that's enough. And it's available right from the beginning of the game, you can drive a stock + AT Silverado to Alaska and easily access the Mk38. Of course they tried to balance it!
      But Paystar? Mediocre engine, short snorkel, probably the worst ground clearance in the game, and it's freakin EXPENSIVE! What's fun is that 114SD has access to all the same add-ons, can have crane+bed+trailer setup (Who even uses that? Crane ruins the look, it should only be installed on Fleetstar!), is fuel efficient, has better midsize truck tire set (because of UOD II ), and it costs the same. I've never reached lv20 cos I either get boared earlier or have another Paystar vs ANK crisis (when I use one - I want to use another) but it seems to be an excellent truck that COMPLETELY OUTCLASSES Paystar. The only con is engine sound. I watched lots of reviews and I can barely take that awful noise.
      Why they hate Paystar that much?

    Realistically all the 8X8's are S, with Tayga's and Voron's being high A's.
    There are things a truck with a 8X8 frame cando, and places a truck with a 8X8 frame can go, that no other truck simply can't go.
    Take for example some of the ice crossings in Kola or Amur. There are trails that basically cross over broken slabs of ice. 8X8's can usually make these trails because as your first axle crosses the gap, the second axle keeps you suspended. By the time the second axle hits the gap, your first axle is back on solid land. Then the rears do the same. It's very hard for 8X8's to fall into cracks, dip into ruts, etc.
    Meanwhile since a Tayga only has 1 front axle, it'll make it as far as the first gap in the ice, the axle will fall into the crack then you are 100% stuck. Maybe if you have chained tires which grip ice you could reverse and pull yourself out, but with Offroad or Mud as soon as you fall into a crack in the ice, and a 6X6's front axle WILL fall into cracks in the ice. That's it, they are done.
    I love the Voron AE, Voron D and Tayga 6455B. OG Tayga and Voron Grad can go fornicate themselves with an iron stick (Tom Tucker Family Guy reference, if you didn't catch the quote) as far as I'm concerned. lol
    But as much as I love those trucks. They simply can't go where 8X8's can go and simply can't do what 8X8's can do.
    I'm sure 6X6's have their advantages in utility and such. But stickly talking from a offroad perspective, complete floor wiping. The 6X6's just can't match the 8X8's capabilities.

    I've gotta say the Voron AE is my favourite Voron, at least now in Taymyr, the D was a little unstable like you mentioned in your review and the Grad just feels really weak with the 3rd engine upgrade, though maybe I need to test the Grad again haha. If there was a mod to change the location of upgrades I'd move the Grad's engine, the Twin Steer AWD and the MH9500 AWD Upgrade to the first three maps. As for the 64131 I only just purchased it on the last logging contract of Taymr and I'm kicking myself I didn't buy it sooner, it's awesome, people say it is slow but honestly it's the perfect balance between speed and suspension damage. Not sure about later maps but I copped a lot of damage on the sealed roads of Taymyr.

      The AE is a great truck. Alot of great trucks mentioned here as well. It would be nice to see some upgrades earlier. Kinda wish that was part of the New Game+ feature (Scramble upgrades). Its crazy how the vorons each offer somethng different for different playstyles and then the 64131 is really just a grind it out type. Glad you've been enjoying these trucks!

  • @DartXL
    @DartXL Před 11 měsíci

    I didn't like little Ziks 5368 until I picked a task that suited him exceptionally well. It turned out to be the best machine for loading logs by hand!
    When you park backwards to the log loading point and use the crane in the optimal mode - mainly back and forth movements of the boom without unnecessary swinging left and right - it makes the process much easier and faster and I even started to like manual log loading. Hence there are a number of requirements for the machine for this purpose in addition to the possibility of installing a log-loader crane. These are a short frame, good maneuverability, all of which make the 4x4 option attractive for this purpose more than anything else. Passability is less important, as I haul it behind me on a winch to the loading point when the logs are unpacked, so I use economical engine and low suspension for stability. So, a small Ziks on a winch on a powerful truck with a standard sideboard semi-trailer has become my formula for success, allowing me to deliver many stacks of unpackaged logs at one time. When I arrive at the unloading site, I simply tip over the semitrailer, spread the logs on the ground, collect them in groups of three, pack them into the log trailer (but a third special vehicle with an add-on for transporting/packing logs is better) and complete deliver log pack. In the case of long logs, you can use TUZ 16 Actaeon is just right in this case, because it only use to be packed logs on the unloading spot. Try it)

    I agree with most of what's said here, especially with the Tayga-King being top of the OffRoaders, I used it extensively however I never really liked it that much. Slap on the big baloon tires and just do everything. It felt boring. I prefer the Voron Grad, even though it's (at least on paper) a weaker truck, the Grad feels more alive in my hands, it's a lot more hands on, you need to manage it's AWD and DIff locks, and even though it has far fewer add-ons, depending on the gearbox and tires you use it can beat the Tayga in a lot of jobs, and more importantly it's a much more fun drive. I also dig the American trucks, they are a lot of fun, again depending on how they are used and I wish some of them had a few more tire\suspension options. But objectively they are weaker for the most part to their russian counterparts.

He hosted the game several sessions, so I didn't unlock a single truck and saved my money to buy the 5070. When I saw that the 5070 is almost on the same tier like a F2070A I was really disappointed since he only invested like about 20-30k in the truck and I invested like over 100k. There is, at least for me, now real balance between some truck categories and the actual trucks after all. Expected way much more when I first bought the 5070. But hey, now I know it, just won't get my money back, lol.

I don't know about the Tayga 6455b but i'd put the 6436 behind the Voron Grad as I like the switchable awd + diff way more. But other than that love the tier list.

      Ah soo you see how hard this was for me lol. I wanted to put my fav vehicle (64131) in S.
      As for the Vorons I see your point. However, For some reason people think the crane, bed, and trailer combo are meta, but I think the trailer addition is just a liability. I would rather have control over my cargos balance from a low saddle connection which is directly connected to my own vehicle balance. With a hitch trailer you have very little control of the balance of that trailer as well as the semi trailer for me is so much more manueverable as well. If you've seen any streams, I strictly use that with great sucess. I feel people get caught up on the crane, bed, trailer combo alot.
      You definitely have really valid points. Great comment!! Im glad you liked the video :)

      It does feel rather tippy especially with the raised kit. The advantage of having 51” tires which requires the raised suspension is the trap. Without the suspension, it’s not too bad, but I definitely understand why people let this one collect rust once they move on to different regions

  • @Andrea-B-65-UK
    @Andrea-B-65-UK Před rokem

    The UOD 11 tires are originally a Soviet off road tire & they are an incredible mud/all terrain tire that are also brilliant in snow
    In the 1970's Pontyr Tyres in Wales UK made a copy of these tires called the Mud Plugga for Land Rovers & Japanese 4X4s
    Firestone bought a licence to produce them in the form of the Firestone SAT, although at a much higher price than the Pontyr Tyres Mud Plugga
    Definitely not an American tire by any stretch of the imagination
    They are probably the oldest off road tread pattern tire that's still in mass production & manufactured in many countries worldwide

      @NProvince  Před rokem

      I think they should give it more fuel for sure. Balance wise, if you’re using the small crane; that’s a big influencer of its balance. I would remove it and also use the AMHS tires as well. I believe you’ll have a better experience with it

    • @Tytus01UNIT
      @Tytus01UNIT Před rokem

      @@NProvince yeah, maybe, but after removing that, we would lose most of the uniqueness of this truck :D What I love about this truck is the look and crane AND lights that are unique - all sides and actually giving some light on sides and back (I haven't see that detailed lights in any other truck). It seems I have to finally recover tayga 6455b to get nice crane+bed+trailer combo and good tires on the offroad truck. I hope it will be close to stability that normal tayga has.

    • @NProvince
      @NProvince  Před rokem +1

      So another thing I actually heard is to turn the crane to the aft on the Bandit and this will help mitigate the tipping as well. I haven’t tried that method a lot, but it’s worth a shot especially if you really like having the crane mounted. The 6455B is one of the more stable off-road trucks in the game. Both Taygas are very easy to drive and keep on their wheels

    Hi, question about your M916A1. I noticed you have the raised suspension equipped but in this truck’s case, there are no bigger tires available. So isn’t it better to keep suspension low in that case to reduce the chance for tipping over?

    • @NProvince
      @NProvince  Před 2 lety +1

      That’s a great question, most of the time I think it depends on driver comfort. There are a few trucks I don’t use the raised suspension. However, in my trailer review video I mentioned how saddled trailers act as counter balances in a lot of ways. Since this is strictly a tractor, with a saddle, it’s balance will be better when using a saddled trailer with counter balance positions between truck and trailer. I hope that makes sense

  • @lunseren

    I think autonomous is maybe a bit overpowered. It almost makes the truck more or less unstoppable

    • @NProvince
      @NProvince  Před rokem

      It is a very power asset in this game so the simple reason that recovering, or rescuing can completely be negated IF you have something to winch to. The Actaeon being the only one to get this makes it very strong

    The azov 5319 is a good truck but not being able to tow and trailer when having flatbed and cranes brings it down and terrible fuel tank unless it a easy mission it’s unusable. Something like the Voron d or tayga 6455b that can do this are more reliable and usefully

    • @NProvince
      @NProvince  Před 2 lety +1

      I understand what you mean and those are good points, but for me that combo setup I don’t use. Semi with a small crane for me is better maneuverability, more influence on trailer balance and overall Im weird I like it more. I’ve used the hitch trailer combo for almost 1000 hours of play and since I’ve switched over, I’ll never go back. However there is a catch, some trucks have trailer collision issues, but not many. I definitely see your point of view and it’s a really good argument and I respect that :)

    • @NProvince
      @NProvince  Před 2 lety

      Yea the Step 33-64 would be on this list. I think when I made this video on the 26th or 27th it wasn’t out yet or I just didn’t have enough time in it to make a good judgement. I think it would still be a C with the other 4x4s because it’s coming into the game so late, and also despite having really good performance, it’s been having a lot of issues with low saddle hauling where the trailer catches which impedes turning.

  • @justinlynch3
    @justinlynch3 Před 2 lety

    I refuse to use the Zikz with those mud tires with that stupid setup lol. I hate the look of that when the front tires sit wide and the rear tires sit in snug to the frame, absolutely can't stand it. Must set off some type of OCD or something XD.
    When Saber adds spacers to that rear axle, then I'll put those tires tires on the Zikz. Until that time however, it's dully rears all the way with the Zikz for me.
    Also this list didn't go as I thought it would. Now I never used this tier list thing, so maybe it's limited in how much you can add. But I thought the Highway/Heavy Duty class would still be there to show us where the Offroad trucks stand by comparison.
    But yea I think the Actaeon is a little better then the other 4X4's for 1 reason, autonomous winch. I use it as a fuel truck and because of this winch the Actaeon stands at least a little bit of hope at actually getting somewhere. Meanwhile the Warthog is just as tippy and has no offline winch, so this thing is almost doomed to failure soon as you take it off the road. Tatra 805 might be a little more stable but still lacks a offline winch. Biggest issue with Tatra though is it's to small and to light, it should be a scout. It has the power, but it doesn't have the mass and grip to haul semi trailers. Hell I remember one time the 805 was struggling to pull a service trailer DOWN HILL. lol It really needs to be switched over to scout trailers.

      Good points as usual Justin.
      Ya know I thought about leaving those trucks in there to to have a running overall tier list, but felt I should compare classes for a few reasons.
      I think the highway and heavy duty by whole are a lil less capable due to being lighter weight, less armament (always on features), lacking tire options, some have no raised kits, and also overall capabilities.
      I love making all trucks have a use especially the Heavy Duty class. I will use them to do things most people use the elite Off-roaders, but I think Saber made the highway and heavy duty for support purposes, the off-road class for workhorse, and heavy for a blend of things, but not as versatile as the off-road trucks.
      What I can do is post a picture on my community CZcams thread and have them all in there.

    • @justinlynch3
      @justinlynch3 Před 2 lety

    The Acteon (Gaz 66) should really be in the A or S category's
    The reason being it's by far the most capable 4X4 ever manufactured. It will go just about anywhere & through anything
    It's 4L diesel is of moderate BHP with incredible amounts of torque, it's also fitted with the most incredible auto diff locks, very long travel suspension & incredible axle articulation
    It is by no means fast, the most capable off road trucks never are
    Its only drawback is the position of the gear levers, set well back between the seats. However the Gaz 66 has more than enough torque to be put into 4th & will easily pull away from stationary
    I wouldn't put any US truck above category C, then only the ANK's & Fleetstar (Michigan truck). Due entirely to them all having highway suspension & being pretty damn lousy off road, practically useless for taking shortcuts
    The best vanilla SR truck for getting anywhere is the Kamaz prototype, Azov 73210, the upgrade in Imandra i used the 73210 with 5 slot sideboard semi to go get it. Without any suspension or engine upgrades, i have only one truck with raised suspension Michigan Fleetstar, the only US truck i bother with, raised/active suspension is on the whole pretty pointless & more trouble than its worth
