- Helmsley is situated on the River Rye, North Yorkshire, England just about 24 miles due north of York. This small town still retains it medieval layout especially around its market square. The town may be small but it has some fascinating attractions including the national centre for Birds of Prey, Helmsley Castle, Helmsley Arts Centre and the Walled Gardens. However due to the current lockdown in place, some of these attractions were closed.
Helmsley is a perfect small town for a half day visit or to have a short break from the busy city life. Its location is perfect to explore the local Howardian Hills, Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors.

I'm in Helmsley right now. I wasn't going to go after watching Noel's video, but I am so glad I did. Noel missed so much out, including the lovely shop and cafes in the market Square. Definitely a must go!
Thanks for the comment. I filmed this during the lockdown where many shops, including the castle and walled garden were closed due to the covid restrictions. Im glad you enjoyed your visit though.

Helmsley is somewhere we've been meaning to visit recently. It does look really pretty and hopefully some of the sights have reopened now. Even though things were closed when you visited it still looks like a beautiful place to just stroll around!
Thank you, yes it is a lovely town to visit even just for a half day. You can also drive through the scenic Howardian Hills where you can find the Yorkshire Lavander Farm but unfortunately it is closed this year for obvious reason.

Eto ang gusto ma visit Noel, the architecture of their buildings are so pretty. Beautiful ng mga views diyan, it's good that there is a place where everyone can sit around and visit. Ang cute ng fruit stand and those flowers are beautiful Very clean talaga diyan.

Hi, thanks for the comment. I prefer to stay in York as most things you may require are accessible i.e. train, car hire etc. However if you prefer quite place then yes it's a good base.

Oo ganyan yun mga very old town sa UK after ng service libing agad sa churchyard lalo na pag galing sa prominenteng pamilya dahil ang churhyard ay consecrated ground - ibig sabihin banal na libingan.
