    Thanks for the initial review. I'm looking at purchasing the Lightning V2 at the moment. I took one for a test ride around the carpark at BSC Milton today and totally agree with your comments about the throttle being all or nothing. I had hoped that a re-design of the throttle which has happened since the first release would have improved this (the throttle moves horizontally left to right now) however it still seems to be just as you describe it in the review. How did you go with the replacing the throttle with a twist grip style one? Were you able to get the acceleration to be smoother/more linear?
    Mick.

      you get used to the horizontal thumb throttle, i found the same at first. Once you get used to the torque of the twin motors, she is all good. I just wish we could get some maitenance videos

      @@cyanid3cooki3s Thanks. I ended up buying a Nami Burn-e 2 Max. I'll probably never make full use of the power that's on tap but the additional throttle control that's available along with the ability to customise acceleration, power etc for both wheels in each of five profiles/ranges is awesome. I have to traverse CBD footpaths to get anywhere and couldn't see myself managing to navigate the maddening crowd if I had to feather the throttle to go 5-10 kph. YMMV.

      Whats better about the gladiator compared to the lightning v2?

    • @Cranky-Panda
      @Cranky-Panda Před 2 lety

      Personally I went with the Lightning V2 (Still waiting for it to arrive), my main reasons were, more power, more range, swappable battery & cheaper. Also it appears you can change the suspension with mountain bike rear suspension (Eg, Air or Coil). The Lightning also looks closer to a normal scooter, which means less unwanted attention. Those were my reasons. But, if you plan to take it more off road, the beast looks pretty good "modsquad01" youtube page has a fair bit of vids on the beast scooter. It also appears the rear suspension on the beast can be replaced with mountain bike rear suspension.

      @@jamesstone9393 Thanks James. I think for my needs the Lightning V2 is going to be moer than enough for a commute/occasional weekend off road but there is a lot of overlap with the X11, the beast and now the lightning V2.
