And Matrix of key size 2*2
We will do that "key matrix * p.t matrix " like
(11*3)+(15*3) = 0 and as we know 0 is 'A'
And (11*2)+(15*5)=19='T'

Thank you so much for video it has really helped me understand the Hill Ciphers. I have one question though. How would you encrypt a word with odd number of letters with 2x2 matrix, like HELLO. First step would be encrypt HE (7 4), then LL (11 11), and then O (14 ?). What would be paired with O for encryption?

Maggi Sure yes you have to compulsorily take this key, There are some specific rules to select keys , you cannot take any key randomly , just google to know the rules of selecting keys. For exam just choose my key and solve the example

How to fill the key matrix if the key is given in words

In some text they multiply the plan text like this to get the cipher text [4 5] [2 4]
[5 6]
I.e 4 and 5 is row they taken 2,4,5,6 are colums acc to textbook
but you have done like taking 2,4,5,6 as row and 4 and 5 as colums is there any difference in both of that....we get different cipher text of both ....

how you taken the key ?
Key is usually given in the exam , because in Hill Cipher example you cannot take keys randomly , their are some rules you need to follow, you can easily get that rules from Hill cipher wikipedia page.
For exam just remember one key and you can solve any example using that key.
