But he was smooth with it and had it flow through the conversation without much notice of the audience, all while being funny the whole time. Some people just have that kind of charisma

Carson is not a racist, Eddie is on his show but Carson is a product of his time. People didnt even realise what they we're saying was offensive at the time.
