    Went to a doctor that was consistently late and spent hardly anytime with the patients. The last time I was there she was almost 2 hours late and spent only 93 seconds with me. I know because I timed her. Needless to say, I don't go to her anymore.

    I managed to saw a couple of fingers tips off a few years ago and the amazing surgeons at Durham Hospital ( the original one) stitched them back on. I flew out to Borneo the next day with the advice not to get the dressing wet and to have a doctor look at them in a week or if I got them wet. I somehow managed to keep them dry, had no pain, no discharge so went to make an appointment at a clinic just across the road from my hotel. Looked very swanky and modern. Made the appointment and turned up the next day scout 15 minutes early. I was bursting for a pee so went to the customer toilets and they were still locked so jumped into the staff toilet. I was there doing my tinkle when I noticed a load of latex gloves hanging out to dry next to an open window then I noticed the flies coming in the window doing their usual walk over everything then land on the gloves have a poop before departing. I quickly departed the clinic and waited another week till I returned to the UK before opening the dressings at an emergency clinic the minute I arrived. All was well!

      Oh... dear. Ohhh... holy cow. Let us hope and pray the staff intended to take 'em home and use 'em to keep from getting paint on their hands or something, but it would _still_ be a health hazard. I think I might have ventured to assemble gauze, tape, alcohol (not the drinking kind, though one may want it afterward), antibiotic ointment, and some serious surface disinfectant for my work area, and changed the dressing myself. How did you saw off a couple of fingertips? Using power equipment without proper safety? Oh, and remind me never to get sick or be injured in Borneo.

    I have a doctor that will consistently run at least an hour behind. I was there once where she ended up 3 hours behind! She’s alone in her practice. I walked out to the waiting room after my appointment. There were 5 people waiting! Plus 2 more in rooms. It’s not right for doctors to overbook.

    I was in incredible pain from a herniated disc. Got to the doctor and was put in a room.
    2 hours later I left. There was no one in the office. They had forgotten about me. They later called and I told them I was going to get another doctor.

    I have recurring cellulitis. I’ve been hospitalised with it twice. The last bout of it I phoned my GP at 8am (their rules) to try and get an appointment. Was put in a queue. At 8.15 I finally got through, and was told they were fully booked. I was given the phone number of the ‘out of hours doctor.’ I phoned them and immediately got through to a lovely receptionist. She told me a doctor would call me back. Which he did. He listened to me, and prescribed me some antibiotics. The prescription was sent electronically to my local pharmacy, for me to collect. I have not seen my GP since 2018,when I was diagnosed with arthritis in both knees. I’ve been seen by specialist, face to face and via telephone. I was due to have a telephone consultation in May this year. Two days before the appointment I received a letter cancelling that appointment and giving me a new one for April 2025. That will be 20 months since I last saw the specialist and had treatment in August 2023. How is that acceptable?

      Sometimes, a doc can be called away to a hospital with an emergency. Other times, they can wind up with a series of patients whose appointments have run long, and there's a cumulative effect. And occasionally, they were simply late getting back from taking advantage of lovely weather by going for an early-morning jaunt in the Cessna or quick round of golf with their lawyer, dentist, and contractor buddies.

    • @margaretbertoldi2271
      @margaretbertoldi2271 Před měsícem +4

      I am not smarter than you, but I am a doctor so I can answer that for you. It is called being on call/working in the hospital, etc, as well as the office. We go and “do rounds “, which is seeing our patients in the hospital, and start our day in the office. Sometimes at the hospital, bad stuff happens and makes us late. You were the first appointment at the office, not of his day.

    • @bitemykrank1970
      @bitemykrank1970 Před měsícem

      @@margaretbertoldi2271 Your argument holds NO WATER whatsoever. I'm talking about a GP, or "General Practitioner" in a regional town. The doctor in question DOES NOT do Hospital duty, DOES NOT do Nursing Home duty, DOES NOT do housecallls of any kind. He simply does a 9am - 5pm clinic shift 5 days per week, like a normal job. There is NO WAY he can be one hour behind appointment times at 9am in the morning. The OFFICE MANAGEMENT makes it this way, as they often quadruple book the same time, so you have four patients waiting for the same appointment time on the same day. I was still in reception one time, having just booked an appointment for an injection later in that week, and whilst I was still there, the girl on the phone booked the EXACT same time as mine, exact same day for another patient and hadn't even finished entering my details in their system at this point..... THIS kind of crap is why the appointments are never on time. I know doctors are only human and can only give the time they can, but as we only have 5 doctors in this town for a population of 350,000+ in the area, this is half the problem. NOT ENOUGH trained doctors want to work in the bush, they all want the city office and $5000 p/w pay cheques. We have one of the worlds best healthcare system's in Australia, but it's still far from perfect. Thankfully, I rarely get sick and rarely need a doctor, but I am on ongoing lifetime medications that require regular visits to obtain scripts.

    Mom took high B12 shot for six months while her GP stopped coming to work. Finally, specialist she saw said a test _he'd_ given her came back with 5X toxic levels of B12!! More months later, they STILl won't release her records so she can change physicians! [And what's with 5:45 ? Can't "guess which country", font too small.]

      The photo shows a screen running medication ad videos in a doctor's office, so it can only be here in the US. My husband ran into this recently in a hospital ER. Before he could use the remote to flip through channels, he had to wait through something like 15 minutes of ads. _Then_ he could see if he could find something to watch.

      Apparently it’s an ad on a tablet, which says _don’t hesitate to find out about how Otezla could help you_ I’m going to guess the country is the U.S. as Big Pharma basically bribes doctors to buy their products.

    0:46. Maybe have a poster of the upward view into a tornado? Haha. Or personalized posters to match their patients eg: animals, flowers, Nature, sports, hiking, etc. 3:35 written by AI and/or the typist has a bad case of hiccups. 5:12 pull it! Pull it! Then realign them slightly wider or narrower and wonder if your doc will notice any difference. If you are asked, deny it looks different. 6:13. Looks like he’s a family doctor. The worst pix I’ve in a dentist’s waiting area were 9 large-ish photos (3 across, 3 down) of different kinds of bad teeth and gums! omg! Nightmare stuff! Pity for any parents coming in with youngsters
