    Partially because of your videos, I traded in and I have financed a 2022 Elantra N-Line - pick up on Monday. Super excited, great car!

      How are those fuel injectors?

    @greghammond7869 Před rokem +1

    Just a comment about what you were saying at 3:55 regarding injector cleaning, it's a useful thing to do - but you can do it yourself for the cost of a bottle of GDI intake cleaner and about 10 minutes of your time. You take the intake hose off, and intermittently spray the cleaner past the MAF sensor while somebody in the car revs the engine to 2000 RPM.

    Nice review! By the way, fuel injection service is unnecessary and just pure profit for the dealer. Just stick with whatever your owner's manual says to do.

  • @flavoredmoney8755
    @flavoredmoney8755 Před rokem +1

    Pretty sure that $175 service was a rip off.. all they do is pour a bottle of fuel system cleaner in and because these are GDI engines the cleaner never cleans the top of the valves.. to remove carbon properly you would need the engine walnut blasted. They used a $10 bottle of cleaner and. Charged 175 seen it happen before

    • @auto_joe
      @auto_joe  Před rokem

      See I don’t know a lot about it and I won’t pretend I do. The way he described it as was that they would use the fuel system cleaner and hold the engine at high revs to blow the carbon out of the exhaust. I may be missing some details as that was a few weeks ago now

    • @flavoredmoney8755
      @flavoredmoney8755 Před rokem

      @Auto Joe oh OK in that case sounds like they sprayed it into the manifold.. which would work better than putting into the gas tank.. but still a $10 job you could easily do at home.. anyways love the car and glad ur maintaining it!

      @auto_joe  Před rokem

    I don’t have an N line but I have a regular 2021 Elantra would you also recommend having the oil change at 3750 or is 7500 okay?

    • @auto_joe
      @auto_joe  Před rokem +1

      From my understanding, the manufacturer only recommends the 3750 intervals if you drive your car hard, otherwise 7500 should be fine!

    • @godzilla7391
      @godzilla7391 Před 16 dny

      I change mine in my Elantra N every 3k, no matter what. I've always done that, and have my Genesis coupe up to 143k and runs fine. I also do that because I hear Hyundais warranty can be nightmares, so I didn't want to even chance it. Changing oil is cheaper than replacing engines

    • @auto_joe
      @auto_joe  Před rokem

      I have not yet. I’m not sure if I will or not. I have had a couple runs, pushing my car on empty backroads though. I would say that it handles at the limit just as you’d imagine for a FWD car with no limited slip differential

      Hey Charles! The transmission hasn’t given me any trouble. It definitely isn’t as crisp as it was when I first bought it though. I also put a lot of wear on it, driving it at crawling speeds in traffic. However, it’s still holding up strong!

      I don’t keep up entirely with forums and what not but in my own anecdotal experience I’ve had none of those issues. There are also a lot of not so serious problems that flag an engine light. Definitely just do your homework and make the right car buying decision for your own needs. It never hurts to cross shop!

    3750 miles is unnecessary. Severe maintenance schedule per Hyundai is 5000 miles. 3750 is wasting money for little to no gain.
