I’ve watched so many videos on how to operate this small but powerful hand vac but your video was well demonstrated, thorough ,answered all my questions I have in mind, u nailed it, 😊.
Thank you for showing how to open the filter compartment so I could clean it. I wondered why the suction on my B&D Pivot Hand Vac was reduced and, after I saw your video and cleaned the filter with an old toothbrush, it works as good as new. Thanks again!!
Glad it was helpful Patrick. Yeah, we have to clean ours every few weeks or so and it's back to new. It's still working great after all this time. Take care, G.
No problem Alice! I'm sure you have experience in things I don't- so I guess we're both morons to some degree....lol. Never sell yourself short! Glad the video was helpful and take care, G.
I have had my B&D for a couple of months and all I can say is ... WOW. This is a great tool. I have hardwood floors and a fluffy cat. I can put this out and run around and get the fur in the corners and wherever with no problems. Pulling the crevice tool out makes it easy to run along the baseboards and shoe moldings to remove dust and fur. I dropped a bag of bird seed (very small seeds) and used this to quickly pick it up. It is even great to use if you have a lot of crumbs on the counter ... you can vac and then clean the counter. I had not used a Black and Decker in a long time and was so disappointed with the one I bought, that I never looked at them again. Although this is the latest model, it really is a great buy. In fact, I am giving one to my son for Christmas. It sure beats dragging out the cannister vaccuum for the little things. Great buy. I highly recommend. This video is really good because it shows how to remove the filter and how to close in the nozzle. Thanks@
I agree Beverly- WOW is right on target! I would bet it's the most powerful hand held out there. We have hardwoods throughout so we know first hand what your talking about- minus the fluffy cat...lol. Glad you found the video helpful. Take care, G.
I watched several videos trying to see how to retract the crevice tool. Thank you for clearly explaining and showing how to do this. (I did pinch my thumb.) It isn't easy to close so I probably won't extend it often.
Thanks! I didn't even know Dewalt made a vac. I looked it up and it's an interesting looking machine. I don't think I could take the whine though. This one really sounds like a small router but not as loud- and no whine. G.
Thanks for your review of this product. I did some research before buying the B & D 20v hand vac. I charged the vac for a full 24 hours as recommended in the instructions. After my first use, the vac died after 20 minutes. Disappointed. Am I doing something wrong? There was a clump of cat hair that was stuck under the gasket that you pointed out in your review. Now, I must clarify, I am constantly vacuuming and sweeping to keep things under control. I wasn't using this hand vac to get at weeks of cat hair build up. It did an amazing job of pick up before it crapped out. Wonder if I should return and look for something better. Or maybe this is a device best used to clean out your car. Haven't had the chance to try that yet. Thanks!
Pluto, I don't think you've done anything wrong. If you used it for a constant 20min- that may be all the battery will allow at full charge- not so different that a lithium drill. I don't really use it myself so I have to refer to my wife's experience. She uses it sporadically to clean up spills, etc and has only charged it once after the original charge. You might consider exchanging it for a new one, then you will know for sure there's nothing wrong with it. If it still doesn't meet your needs, return it for a refund. You might need to go corded past that. I hope this helps in some way and good luck, G.
The only complaint I have so far for owning it for 3 weeks is the filter doesn't seem to do a good job on protecting the motor. I observe a very thin layer of fine dust built up around the motor housing from time to time. But hey! for $65 can't really call it a con. Plus I have a two yrs warranty to play around if anything should happen to it.
Thanks for the info Kevin! I'll check ours out after a bit to see if we have the same problem. I agree though, it's not really a con. It's the best one we've had yet- to date. I didn't realize it had a 2yr warranty. Take care, G.
No problem! I can't really say since we always keep in on the charger- but have never used it long enough to run it down. Not really the answer you're hunting for. Hope this helps, G.
+Joshua Lumpkin (GameFreakTV) Sorry Joshua, I really don't know the answer to your question. Perhaps someone else will chime in and give more information. Good luck, G.
Simonkentondm If you read the book you will see you can take out the pre-filter which is the large plastic filter and the pleated filter both also both are replaceable
How would this do cleaning up lots a small bits of dirt and debris specifically in a car mat? Also...can you tell me is this multivoltage (120v-140v/220v-240v) or only USA standard 120-140v. Thanks in advance!!
My wife has tried it and said it didn't work that well for the mats. You'd probably be better served getting a small shop vac. No, it's not multi-voltage. The one I have is only USA standard. Good luck, G.
Thank you for your review! You have had this hand vac for a year now. Do you/your wife still like it? Can you charge the vac with the nozzle extended while charging with it mounted on the wall?
L Adams No problem! We still love the vac and it still works great! It sees much use. I don't know off hand if it can be charged with the nozzle extended with it mounted on the wall. Sorry about that. Hope this helps! Good luck, G.
L Adams You're welcome. My wife and daughter are sleeping so I can't get to the vac at the moment. But now that I think about it and reviewed my video, you should be able to charge it with the nozzle extended if the charging stand is mounted to the wall. You could also charge it with the nozzle extended and the charging not mounted, but you might need to leave the pivoting nozzle/head open a bit and not fully closed. I hope this makes sense. Take care, G.
***** i just purchased it based on reviews i read and the video i saw you do,im looking foward to mine my dirt devil scorpion died so bad not even a full year,it did okay but the power level and suction was low,it lasted maybe 8 minutes..it kinda sucked..pun intended lol
Veronica Mills Good deal Veronica! I'm not familiar with the scorpion. Hopefully the reviews you read and my video don't let you down. Our old Oreck died a similar death and it was never that great to start with. Yep, it sucked! LOL. This on will run at full power the entire time until it runs out of battery and stops. G.
***** oh trust me the scorpion was not all that great they came out with many models trying to improove it it did not have a lithuim battery like the black n decker here, and by the way i love this thing so far Black & Decker, now it can really picks up good and lasted way longer than i expected, and i found out Oreck rips people off they make stic vacumes with short lives that you cant buy replacement batteries for,im not sure about their full vacumes they have a good reputation for those according to them and a few reveiws ,but after reading numerous reviews and owning one of their stick vacs which i did buy a replacement battery for but its weird because u can buy them but you cant install them, they need to be professionaly saudered and then theres no gaurantee it will work so i just cut my losses on the Oreck stick vac,all products have a short life now, they dont make things to last anymore you need to buy warrentys which is a scam because u buy a two year warrenty for a product covered by a one year manufacturers warrenty ,but in reallity the 2 year warrenty starts the same time as the one year manufactureres warrrenty and its really just 2 years altogether instead of three like you would think..very deceptive and dissappointing, hope that makes sense..but thats how companys are making money ripping us off
Veronica Mills Well, it sounds like you found the right product for you! I'm glad you're liking it so far. I agree on how the extended warranties works- not what you would expect for sure. That's why I never purchase them and will take my chances with any product. Thanks for getting back to me. Good luck, G.
I'm not sure since we've never used it for that purpose. If it's short hair on a hard surface, it would probably do OK. On carpet or upholstery, I don't think it would do very well. Hope this helps, G.
Ginny, unless they've change something- all I have to do is push the filter in until it "clicks" into place. Not much help, but hope it helps. Take care, G.
Make sure you get the lithium and not the QVC shit battery. They do that to fool older people. The old one holds a charge for a whopping 2 min before it goes down to a almost dead speed.
We've owned the 18 v and also this Lithium model. Loved them and would have recommended them until the batteries died after approximately 18 months. Now in the market for a handheld vacuum with a replaceable battery. Consider these vacuums as a consumable consumer items - not a long term investment.
This one still works Jack, although it doesn't last that long now. I agree- a replaceable battery would've been a good thing. I had taken it apart and the pack could be rebuilt although I don't know at what cost. Take care, G.
Don't buy this product. There are many cases of controlled obsolescence on his model. The battery will stop running precisely after the warranty ends and there is no possible replacement. All the plastic pollution caused by this makes me really angry.
We're probably about 6 years in on this one- so well over the warranty period. It still works great but the battery is showing it's age and doesn't last as long as new for sure. I will agree planned obsolescence is a problem! Take care, G.
I’ve watched so many videos on how to operate this small but powerful hand vac but your video was well demonstrated, thorough ,answered all my questions I have in mind, u nailed it, 😊.
Thanks Claudia! Glad it gave you everything in one place. This vac is still working great after all this time. Take care, G.
Great review, right to the point. Especially liked the easy dump / clean part as that is what I was looking for.
Thanks! It's proving itselft to be a great vac. Good luck, G.
Thank you for showing how to open the filter compartment so I could clean it. I wondered why the suction on my B&D Pivot Hand Vac was reduced and, after I saw your video and cleaned the filter with an old toothbrush, it works as good as new. Thanks again!!

No problem! I'm glad the video helped you out. G.
Thank you for taking the time to demonstrate.

No problem Thomas! Take care, G.
THANK YOU for showing how to seat the filter. I'm a moron and couldn't get it firmly seated. You're a prince!
No problem Alice! I'm sure you have experience in things I don't- so I guess we're both morons to some degree....lol. Never sell yourself short! Glad the video was helpful and take care, G.
this was a very good demonstration...answered all my questions. thank you

Good review I still have an old Dirt Devil hand vac still works great. Thanks G
Thanks Roland. We had an Orek but it was never that impressive. This one works great. Sounds like the Dirt Devil is a good one as well. Thanks, G.
Thank you for making this very great video. You helped us so much! ;)
Glad it helped, Bobby. Good luck, G.
Nice review G. I bought the Dewalt 18v years back and do not use it too often. It has a ear splitting whine.
Thanks! I didn't even know Dewalt made a vac. I looked it up and it's an interesting looking machine. I don't think I could take the whine though. This one really sounds like a small router but not as loud- and no whine. G.
***** Yep like a 15k router, and loud. The Dewalt will take 12v, 14.4v, and 18v batteries. I had both 12v and 18v when I first purchased it.
acklan3
Yeah, with that much noise you might as well just drag around a shop vac! G.
Pretty much. I was using it to touch up my truck between washings, but not to often these day.
Thanks for the review Forest.
kd3piano No problem Jenny...lol. G.
Seems it will be a good one! Hope it works out for you. Thanks for the review.
Me too. It's a pretty powerful machine. Time will tell though. Thanks Mac, G.
Good review, thanks!!!
Thanks and no problem! Good luck, G.

Very good review. Thanx
Thanks and no problem! Hope it helps, G.
Hi, thank you for the review. It's been 4 years, how's the battery hold up ? I wanna buy one myself but worried about battery life.
Arie, it's holding up just fine for us. It's been a great vac, and still is. Good luck, G.
Pretty clever design. Yes Sir, I like it.
I agree. It's still working great! Good luck, G.

purchasing.... great review

Thanks! Ours is still working great! Good luck, G.
How long is it from one end to the other? (with the crevice tool extended). I just want to know how far I can reach with it.
+NightNinja
With the crevice tool extended and from where your hand would be holding it, it measures about 16.5". Hope this helps! Good luck, G.
+ghostses Thanks!

No problem! G.
has this model been updated since this video was made?
I don't know Kelly. Take care, G.
Yes. That's how that dang filter comes off. 😁
Yep, glad it was helpful. G.
Hi, How long does the charge last on frequent use.
I can't say for sure, but it does last a long time. Not much information, but hope it helps. Good luck, G.
+ghostses Thanks for your quick response.
No problem! G.
My brand new, FULLY Charged battery = 13 minutes of non-stop useage B4 the battery died.
2nd useage = 11 minutes of non-stop useage B4 the battery died.
thanks a lot
No problm Kevin! Good luck, G.
looks like youre having fun lol
Veronica Mills LOL.. I try! G.
Is it a wet vacuum also?
I don't believe so. G.
Why don't you show the charging stand?

I did show the charging stand 58 seconds into the video. G.
