    Hello Dennis. I like it. Next walking stick of mine will have a copper tip.
    My last one had a store bought rubber tip and I did the same thing to get it flush (didn’t glue it) and snug enough for it to not fall off. Thanks for the video.

    The copper plumbing pipe end cap works pretty darn well. But, the end wears through pretty rapidly, so I end up with a sharp, jaggedly, edge tube instead of a cap. So I started using plumbing pipe of the appropriate diameter that I cut to the length I want. The wood that sticks out of the end weaves off until it reaches the copper. Then they wear very slowly and at about the same rate. The pipe never seems to match the diameter of the stick, so I hammer form it to the right diameter on the horn of a small anvil. Always heat the pipe to a cherry red before hammering. That softens the copper. Hammer along the length to make the pipe smaller and along the width to make it wider. Copper work harden as you hammer and can crack, so heat temper it frequently. I’ve “tinned” the copper with silver solder, to make some of my tips look as though they’re made of silver.

    Dennis, thanks for your videos, they're really neat. Have you since tried to drill a small hole in the center of the top, best as possible, then using a 1 inch hole saw just dut down to where the cap would stop? Fill in with epoxy [putty] and maybe top off with a shinny stainless phillips head.

    Nice end cap Dennis.
    Would the Penny fall off under use?
    Take care Dennis.

      I don't think the penny would come off. I used thick CA and Accelerater Also I tapped it good to see if it held on good.
      Not a very scientific test but enough for what it is.
      Thanks, Cheers

    Another good video, do you find the metal on the bottom affects grip ie. makes it slip on hard surface>

    • @OzarkArtsandCrafts
      @OzarkArtsandCrafts  Před rokem +1

      Yes, I probably will slip on hard surfaces. Only good for hiking trails and strolls through the forests.
