    I see the dipstick tube is on the drivers side, while the 350cu in 4-bolt 1975 era is passengers side. Like you, trying to use the OE cast iron exhaust manifolds doesn't have room for right side oil tube. It right in the way. Didn't want to do heads as all matching the 86 Monte SS look. Still scratching my head! Thanks for the video.

    Just found your video. I have a '66 Caprice with a 327 and the same problem with the steering box. Have been looking for some shorty headers and you saved me a lot of headaches. Thanks for posting this - it really helped me out!

      Would you have a part number and make of the shorty headers that work on your 66? Shorty’s now seem to reference as,”block hugger. The shorties that you found that work, they don’t have a slanted exit? Straight and flat at the exit flange? Not in the way of the starter and solenoid on the passenger side? Great video. Not much out there for 65-70 B body Chevy’s

      the brand are headman headers, they are not hugger headers and stay clear of the starter, they don't make them anymore from what I've seen@@paulmacdonald4712

    The Hedman Street Headers fit GREAT on these cars with a SBC. The 681 series clears well. I'm running the Hedman 68173 Black Ceramic on my 1967 Impala. Fit like a glove. 68173, 68170 and 68176 all fit well on these cars. Only real difference between them in the header finish.

    • @paulmacdonald4712
      @paulmacdonald4712 Před 6 měsíci

      Does the drivers side hang low, which is typical of many off the shelf, multiple application headers.
      How much clearance do you have on the drivers side? Is your front end stick height or lowered?

    • @dragonlips2005
      @dragonlips2005 Před 6 měsíci +1

      @@paulmacdonald4712 Nope- no driver's side sag with the Hedman. The tubes are very much level with each other. Stock spindles in my front end, but I did recently convert it over to full tubular A-arms from Global West, with QA1 coil overs. Maybe 1.5 inches lower than stock. I've used the headman on the bone stock suspension and it still fit perfectly. For driver's side clearance, were you asking between the header and the power steering box?

    • @paulmacdonald4712
      @paulmacdonald4712 Před 6 měsíci

      Thanks for your responses bro, it really helps navigate to the correct headers for our application. More of ground clearance. I have 30 year old Flow tech 11100 FLT’s on mine. I have 3” of clearance at the front tubes. 2.5” at the flange due to the driver’s side drop. At the steering box? The tubes cleared? No dimpling.. Wasy access to all plugs? Again no dimpling of tube 1 on drivers side?

    Cool video 😃 I have a 1965 Chevy c10 and I'm having a very similar issue as yours, with my truck the inner part of the wheel well stretches past the steering column and gets in the way, and sure enough the muffler shop mechanic recommends the exact same headers that finally fit yours. Thank you Peace ☮

    I have long tube headers on my 78 camaro. They are headman hustlers. They fit beautifully on both sides. They clear my steering box, and my clutch linkage. They also have a ball shaped end on the collector, so you do not need collector gaskets.

    66 Nova with 350 small block and CPP power steering box - TWO failed attempts so far. Sanderson shorty headers - rubbed shock tower on driver's side, but clear on passenger. Rams Horn manifolds - clear on driver's side, but rub shock tower on passenger side. Have an OE set of factory 327 manifolds coming - praying driver's side clears the CPP PS box.
