Its a very simple crystal clear issue that Israel has occupied and oppressed the Palestinians militarily , socially , economically and in every possible way crushed their freedom. All military operations by Israel prior to the 7th of October were targetted attacks on civilians..Operation protective edge, Operation pillar of defence all were part of the periodic 'mow the lawn' strategy. Peace cannot prevail until and unless Israeli control over gaza, west Bank and the administrative control over Palestinians is broken . I wish the CNN could do such an interview of all kidnapped Palestinian children tortured in Israeli sham prisons for years. Nomenclature doesn't change the atrocities. But then when did the west consider occupied equal to occupier even children. The West has grown up normalising colonisation occupation slavery and treating some faction of human beings less equal and being okay with it. Like "third world". No there is only one world dear. And is moral racism leading to natural human empathic depravity. Almost every western channel starts conversation deprived from skewed distorted moral empathy and expects the rest of human beings to prove their " humaness" or "equality".

It's grotesque, really- people there talk about seeing the "workers" zip around in their expensive cars , but when the Ukrainian side called a meeting ( it's on video) nobody showed up. I would not send them money, period. There are more direct ways to help victims wherever, easy to look up. Donate to local legitimate groups, etc. The families of the hostages are finding out now how the Ukrainian families have been feeling for two years now. It's horrendous!
