If you're a fan of the original, you'll probably enjoy this. Feels higher quality overall.
@Sir Galahad you're an accurate representation of an average toxic vocal minority
gameranx I love how Daniel seems like what an actual kid would be like. Nagging and giving you the puppy eyes, over reacting to animals and asking to play games
@Sir Galahad with the "walking simulators" thing, is a common insult that these type of games receive everytime that one launches, happened since David Cage's Heavy Rain, it's getting annoying (although I admit that I was harsh saying that you're toxic)
gameranx yup I loved it
gameranx im loving it
I liked how they referenced "The Last of us" with the clicker scene lol
TrickP wdym
There is a scene where Sean and Daniel are in the woods and there is fungus on a tree and Sean has a dialogue option to make clicker noises.
Yeaaah

I can’t even imagine my life without these games. All three I loved so much. I can listen to the soundtracks from each games for hours and it just makes me feel so happy. I personally loved Lis 2 as much as the first two games.
breenewi should I buy it?? I mean rn it’s only 15$
should i buy it, rn its 50$
MTBriding 4fun Yes. Worth it
Bucket_hat_eddie Lmao this is so late but it’s genuinely changed my perspective on life it’s amazing
Lis2 was so goddamn emotional especially when
SPOILERS!!
Your in the church at the end of ep 4 and you are trying to convince Daniel and you are getting beaten down and refusing to stay down
I think the dialogue is a lot better written than the first episode of the original. Kids say weird shit and this was a lot closer to the way teenagers actually talk imo.
Is this this a downloadable game or do you buy a hard copy and how much does it cost
ONE PUNCH!!!!!!! It’s $40 for the whole season and 7.99 for just this episode
ONE PUNCH!!!!!!!
It's only digital download. This is an episodic series so you can buy the whole season for $40 and they release each episode 1 month apart I think.

Story driven games are a rare gem these days. We have to buy these kind of games to show our interest. I loved the first one and I am looking foward to play this one when all the episodes are out.
You mean the newest God of War? How about Detroit Become Human - is that gameplay enough?
AC: Odyssey. Isn't that a story-driven game? Hmm? HMM? Dragon Quest XI? Red Dead 2? God of War? Spider-Man? Tomb Raider?
Every big game this year has been a story-driven game. And I think that's a good sign that the tide is starting to turn back to the way things were.
teppolundgren a way out was story driven as well and it was great short but great
It also shows that you could care less if a game is actually a game or not.
You are substituting one evil for a far worse one.
+muhammad tahir I wouldn't know. I don't play co-op crap. I'M the hero!
IS HOT DOG MAN IN THIS GAME
THANK YOU
Yep
Work hard, Mustard Big.
Now we are asking the teal questions
Yes.
With all the Minecraft references in the first ep, I wouldn't be surprised if Daniel starts flossing in the next few acts.
Jack Herbert what?
Pls no....Seen enough of that sht. In my place all fcking 5-9 years old flossing like crazy. Even when they to bathroom they do that sht.
Jack Herbert I made it have more Lord of the Rings references lol
What does flossing have to do with Minecraft? Isn't that Fortnite? lol
Paul Denney The point is that the game is trying to be mainstream
"slightly political"
a bit of an understatement.
a cop shoots the dad, who's Mexican, and a store owner says "this is why we need to build the wall"
@@vincentrodriguez7797 you know, with stuff like this I always wonder if it feels forced...I mean it doesn't really but at the same time I wonder if it's necessary. I'm all for having diverse characters and showing the darker sides of reality within fiction but something just feels off with this. Not pandering like the BFV debacle but something else....idk maybe because it's "political" is the simple answer I'm overlooking. Does anyone else feel like this?
I feel like if you have never experienced similar things like what the characters have then of course it will make you uncomfortable. But for me it’s not because I know exactly what it feels like to be Mexican American in present day America. Anyway, I think it’s great that the life is strange team was brave enough to address these issues but I can understand how it can make some people uncomfortable
@@lydiaaa5628 It doesn't make me feel uncomfortable but I see how it seems like that from the way I typed it. I've experienced prejudice before albeit not on this level mostly things I've learned to get humour out of and have seen similar things play out like this before irl so I understand or at least grasp what they were going through. But I just can't explain it, I don't believe it's forced but still something seems off about it. Maybe the whole BFV drama has made me cynical of the "portrayal" of things in games. Like I said maybe because it's "political" but I do think games should be able to portray things as long it's accurate. Hmmm thinking about now though has me thinking this whole "setup" was just an easy way to earn sympathy points for the characters but again that's probably just me being cynical .
I enjoyed the first game, specially the rewind concept, but the story was so leftist (Like everything entertainment related nowadays). Haven't played this one yet.
My verdict : I wasn't emotionally prepared.
100% agree😪
Fuck I waited until all episodes were released and I still wasn’t prepared
i still cry about the ending i got.
I honestly miss Arcadia Bay and the well built relationships in all of the older characters.
Yeah if Life is Strange 3 doesn't have the old characters in anyway its gonna be bad they can't just make 2 games and not explain alot of shit and just make an game with completely different characters
Real ApokalyptoTony i really hope they combine old and new characters
Squalo Oceano I was bummed when lis 2 wasn’t with max and Chloe, but I’m so happy Sean and Daniel were in this one. It was so emotional, and I love it as much as the first game.
SPOILER: THE life of the characters isn't normal. Its Strange!
Koichiou mirou
Dam you!
Thnx for ruining the game
Just the way the wolves come up when you make a decision gives me the feels, but I'm also a bitch for brotherly bond stuff. Loving the way it feels right now. I hope the choices continue to feel so impactful, because it feels great now.
Absolutely agree with you, finally someone in this comment section who doesn't bash the game just because it has political themes in it

To be fair these are all teenagers. Anything they say is doomed to be awkward and cringey

I’ll wait for all episodes to drop, I hate playing one part and then wait months to play the next one.

"I've looked enough, time to draw now"
Hm.... Pretty good, but I can add more details if I want.
Reading the comments reminded me why I stopped reading CZcams comments
The original LiS is by far my favourite game, the one which had the most impact on me, so getting this one is a no-brainer. I'll just wait for all episodes to be released. It was agonising having to wait while I played Before the Storm.
That's the best way to play LiS imo. Playing them all in a row instead of waiting a month for the next episode!
watch E;R’s review on it. It’ll change your perspective.

Literally finished the 1st Life is Stange game last night. I cried, many times. Damn that game was SO good. The voice acting was SO good, all the characters and drama felt too realistic. I love it, and though it won't be the same, now I have to continue before the storm. A little disappointed that it's a whole new set of characters, but Square Enix had to made the story jump somewhere.
Th1cc J3ff if you haven’t played lis 2 yet, be ready to cry way more than the 1st game.
@@breenewi6405 nah, wasnt that good
Cloverfield I am a huge fan of lis 1, but this game I genuinely loved just as much.
@@Lost20048 I disagree. It was much better.
@@poett8875 too many forced political agendas, the powers felt forced and nearly only appeared at the end of each episode and overall just wasnt a good story. The first one is way clear.
Just finished the first LIS game yesterday. It is now one of my all time favorites. Going to play Before the Storm next.
I played the first one and liked the time travel mechanic because of how you could question your decisions but at the same time didn't feel like quick saving and reverting back to old saves to make a new decision, that was made a game mechanic with the time travel ability. also the neat little puzzles they did with the time travel ability
This game is touching my heart, as a elder brother I realized how you have to took care of your brother before it's too late, Sean story is complicated in the first episode how he must protect he young brother that don't know they Father fate until a night in motel, Daniel know about it and he mad. That sudden change effect in a game maybe make you little shock but that's make this game a masterpiece.
I played ep 1 on Xbox One X on a 65" 4K TV and MAN is it beautiful! But...I was really surprised when you spoke about the sketching mechanic and then saw it in your video cuts because I NEVER saw it or came across those prompts one time during my playthrough! I usually use a second save to replay a Life Is Strange game at LEAST twice through with very different choices so next time I'm going to make sure I find the sketching stuff. It may be that I didn't turn on his stereo in his room to chill...anyway. Great job, Jake!
I really Enjoyed this episode. I really like this series and can't wait until the next one drops!
Absolutely LOVED this episode! I Can’t wait for episode 2! Is it weird that I watched this after I bought the whole season a month ago? Lol
I love this game so far. I already feel super connected to Sean and Daniel.
I enjoyed the first episode. I'm going to replay it on a new save knowing what I know after finishing it. I'm definitely looking forward to next episodes.
I feel like they learnt a lot after making the first game. Graphics look better, characters feel more real and believable and Daniel is (imo) a better second character than Chloe. He's a lot less annoying and the voice actor did a great job.
Sean might feel a bit cringy to some, especially during that mirror scene, but I remember doing similar things when I was 16.
Minor spoiler warning. This game will hit you in the feels like a truck in the first hour and make you cry some more towards the end. The scene with watching old christmass video left me in tears.
Pro tip: look around for interactions. They're not always obvious and they're interesting. I feel like some might be important in next chapters.
I just wish i had Max's powers during the Gas Stop scene. I stole everything
I believe it is essential that you feel a connection to at least one of the two brothers (I was lucky to love both of them) so you are drawn in. If you are, I am sure the IMHO excellent storytelling, well-written dialogue (I am one of the people who actually enjoyed the conversations Sean has with his friends and family) will take you on an emotional roller coaster ride if you let it.
I have never seen a game where your actions and words matter as much as they do in LIS2 - everything you do or say can potentially influence the relationship between the older and younger brother and also how the younger brother sees the world.
Several of the episodes have different variations to the ending and the final episode no less than four (with 3 minor variations added) determined by big and small decisions you make along your way.
There was a small Easter egg that I really enjoyed. If I recall correctly it was at the gas station, a poster for, "Tommy's Holiday Camp."
Tommy's Holiday Camp was one of the settings that The Who used in their rock opera Tommy.
After telltale does anybody feel comfortable buying the episodes before they are all out? I sure dont
My first thought aswell. I feel like this game format can only go so far, and it will have to rely on the studios ability to write a gripping story. Hopefully this is as gripping as the first game.
Square Enix isn't telltale.
Only Dontnod is not starting millions of licensed projects all at once that burden their staff to the breaking point and has the backing of Square Enix thanks to the success of LiS1. So yeah. I'm comfortable with trusting they will deliver a solid season.
I think that when an episodic game is released, it should have all the episodes already coded and finished, and make the episodes come out like normal. It makes sense in a telltale-shutdown situation
Its published by square Enix I don't think they will be going bankrupt any time soon
Before you buy, know that it is the best game ever
I totally agree with you this game made me feel like no other game the emotions the interaction the characters man I felt empty when I completed the game lmao
Same here. Loved it! Awwwoooo
I was so stoked at first when they dropped the Vonnegut references, but it wasn’t until later that I realized just how clever (and cruel) it was to drop “so it goes” before such a tragic part of the story. (“So it goes” was a literary device used anytime a character died in Slaughterhouse 5).
Played it and loved it. Fav moment? Maybe exploring the store... there was a lot to absorb in there and some interesting interactions.
I loved the original but the idea of going on a walk with my little brother really turns me off.. The last game the girls were young but they werent little kids it atleast had an adult tone and some dark story, I worry this one will be to soft for me.. I will have no choice but to play this but I will likely wait for a sale or atleast more episodes to be released before I commit.
It turned me off at first as well but at the end of the episode, I genuinely did care about them and wanted to see what was next for them
This game DOES have a dark story moron, their dad is literally murdered by an officer
FS a spoiler!!

Ryan Saunders the life is strange dlc were the main characters as kids, at first it was all childish but at the end it was sad for Chloe. Lol all life is strange games are dark at first it's all nice then the later episodes get darker and darker but let's see later on where it goes

I played the first episode and I'm loving it. the new characters are great and the story is tense.
Played the first and this one was absolutely amazing!!!The sonic boom after the kidnaping to the chomo was so satisfying.
Absolutely amazing - LIS 1, BTS
Absolutely trash - LIS 2
MrKillabizzle I want the second one I loved the first one
Hope we see Captain Spirit again :D
I adored the dynamic between Max and Chloe -- probably my favorite character dynamic in any game -- but I will eagerly say that I think this episode is stronger than the first episode of LiS1 by a wide margin. Visuals, writing, mechanics and presentation, everything has been improved. LiS1 felt like a time travel mechanic wrapped around a game/story that "wrote too many checks it couldn't cash in" per your lingo in this video. LiS2's opener, by comparison, is SO much more focused and realistic in its scope, while simultaneously doing more, bigger, with more variety. Max and Chloe will always be special to me but I am very glad to see DontNod back on the saddle with a chip on their shoulder after the disappointing prequel of last year.
Couldn’t have said it better myself. I loved the original to death, despite its shortcomings, and while I wasn’t initially thrilled with the new characters/setting/story, it’s grown on me a LOT from this first episode and I can appreciate it for what it is and I love it so far.
My favorite part is a spoiler so I won’t say, but it’s a specific nod to the first game, that was pretty awesome.
The game engine is better, no question, but I'm not feeling anything for the brothers yet... maybe by ep.2? I hope so....
My biggest gripe is the politics. Only one person they meet doesn't want to lynch them, and this is portrayed as completely normal in today's America. It's the most absurd portrayal of people I've ever seen. Subtle as a car crash.
I agree another game that forces political agendas *sigh*
@@GodlyHype it's not forceful you're just weak

*_Here are my thoughts on Life is Strange 2:_*
Life is Strange 2 is a good narrative by most standards. It follows a clichéd story of two brothers whose father was wrongfully killed by a police officer, much unlike the originality of the prior entries into the series. The game stacks up well with other choice-based storytelling titles of the same nature. With that being said, it fails to get even remotely close to achieving the special bond that is present in both Life is Strange and Life is Strange: Before the Storm. In the original Life is Strange, Chloe's need to find Rachel, the one person who was there for her in an intense time of desperation, re-sparks a bond that she and her childhood friend Max once had. Then in the prequel, we get to see something truly special develop between Chloe and Rachel. A friendship.. but more. The type of relationship many of us could only dream of having. While there were a few cringe-inducing dialogue lines in the original, it felt real. Like real interactions taking place between real people with real emotions. The saddest a piece of entertainment media has ever made me feel was the final scene of Life is Strange: Before the Storm. When Rachel's phone is ringing with a call from Chloe and an additional nineteen missed. The player can do nothing but watch as we hear the sound of a camera's shutter capturing a soon-to-be-murdered Rachel. It gives us the same sense of hopelessness that Chloe must have felt calling Rachel. Life is Strange 2, on the other hand feels entirely scripted, and while it is a decent game, good at best, it fails to live up to the name and expectations of its incredible, emotionally-charged predecessors. This game makes me long for nothing more than another continuation of Chloe, Rachel and Max's stories. Maybe one day, DONTNOD will deliver to us Life is Strange: Beyond the Storm. But until then, we'll have to settle for this.
Not a joke: I didn't know that this game existed..... I only believe in LIS:1 and LIS:BTS (before the storm not the K-Popers lol) and I'll wait until LIS:3 (Beyond the storm) and I have to say it might be quite challenging but if Dontnod can make it they would secure a buy for the game, I hope they'll make it
Dood you have to put spoilers
Thanks for the spoilers shit face.
The road trip theme is actually the thing I didn't like, so it's good you point it out. I liked the specific location filled to the brim with characters that you'll discover, uncover and get to know. In LiS2 this is not the case. You'll just move from place to place and you'll never get to know the characters that well until you move on to somewhere else.
A shame, if you ask me. Especially because that was one of the strong qualities of the first game.
My lil bro and I enjoyed the first and prequel game, this is a must for us :)

Just finished episode 1 and I'll say it's a work of art. Because of spoilers I can't say much else.
The scene with the cop that was advertised made me laugh out loud. It was like something out of a Neil Breen movie or The Room
I loved Max's time abilities in the first one that's what really set it apart for me. For that reason i din't enjoy the second game quite as much but since there aren't any of the old characters in this one unless it has some unique selling point I'm not sure i will be into it enough to buy it unfortunately. To be honest i was hoping the third game would pick up from the first one because i have not had enough of chloe and max.
So when you load up the game it asks what happens to Arcadia bay and then depending on that it makes a reference to the first one. Passed that I’m not sure I haven’t finished it yet

I just got before the storm on a psn sale yesterday and still have that to play, but really loved the first game. This game looks good graphically and the story sounds interesting like the first game, although I think I prefer friends to siblings
I freaking loved the first LIS game but I'm not sure about this one and my biggest problem is that its a road trip going to lots of different places. One of the many things I loved about the first game was the town of Arcadia Bay which felt like it's own character and that feeling wont be in it's sequel.
"before you buy"
huh. kinda too late for me, i preodered it immediately
The first episode also has a problem with contrived decisions like how (spoilers) Your dad is killed because he approached an aggressive officer arresting his kids and he is shot even though he earlier said to be carful since I quote “Things are very scary in the country right now” also why would the officer be so nervous as to pull his gun on a kid that is a foot shorter than him in a situation where the kid both wasn’t armed and was trying to help the person he incapacitated. Also isn’t it a big coincidence that a cop was passing right through the neighborhood as the main character punched the bully. The game is just full of so many coincidences and contrived decisions that it’s distracting.
I'm digging this episode (I'm about 20 minutes away from completing it) but I have to agree with you on the whole point. Literally me and my girlfriend (we played the original together and we like to play these story based games together) were trying to wrap our heads figuring out why they even forced that scene so much... It felt so out of place, I think the overall following sections could have been implemented without the need for something so unbelievable to have happened.
It's already a bit too much to have a teenager who gets punched just fall to the ground almost dying or dying (don't know if he died or not honestly) but to have a cop passing by and then suddenly shooting the dad for no apparent reason is so lame... Really disappointed us a lot. The scene with the store owner is a bit more believable because we can just attribute his actions to racism but the other scene is just a cheap trick to make you emotional.
I mean, as a Hispanic whose seen her dad stopped by jumpy cops multiple times, and after seeing that Faceboom Live stream of a calm black man being shot by an officer, it makes sense to me. Esteban was likely trying to just protect his children, wanted to do anything he could to keep that officer from hurting them. That officer, after seeing all that fake blood, and then reacting to a Mexican man coming at him, likely reacted based on his subconscious prejudices and fear. Frankly, it all seems pretty plausible to me 🤷🏽♀️
Also, it isnt unheard of for cops to be passing by neighborhoods where they know there are Hispanic or black kids. It's simply the world we live in, my friend, and it fucking sucks
Life is filled with coincidences, most film and videogame stories base themselves on improbable situations. Also, police in the USA has, over the years, proven to be jumpy, social and professionaly underequipped fro the defusal of non lethal situations. Is it a fair representation? Not quite. Is it impossible for it to happen? Not at all.
Selcouth Human frankly I don’t think there is as much of a for lack of a better term witch hunt for Latinos that there is for black people by cops I am Hispanic and I live in a place where most of the neighborhood is Hispanic and I’ve never seen a cop car patrolling my neighborhood and I haven’t really heard of many cops profiling Latinos also I am Latino and I’ve never been profiled or had anyone have a prejudice towards and I frequent places where people who you would think would be prejudiced would be like gun stores or hunting stores and I haven’t even had as much as a rude comment I just hope someday everyone can say the same
You should put Spoliers in caps and put it on top so no one won't miss it and then get spoiled but yeah I totally agree
When are episodes 2-5 being released? I bought the 2-4 bundle as in ps4 store it says it was available from September 27th but I cannot play the episodes. Really annoying I even went to the wiki page which says all episodes are playable but they aren't.
Bought the first Life Is Strange when it was on sale, just going by the overwhelming number of positive reviews. It really surprised me how good it was, and how the weight of the decisions i made stayed on my mind. So buying this new season was a no-brainer. Ive only played the first part of the first episode, but it already has me feeling a range of emotions. I know its gonna be great just like the first season.
I hope it doesn’t end like season 1
Twiggymaster666 knowing don’t nod it probably will
I love the original Shaka-bra
I dunno, I liked having the location in Oregon. Beautiful State!
My favorite part was when the bear shows up and Daniel uses his powers to make it flee...Ok fine this doesn't happen but we all fully expected it to, right?
1:28 Hi, welcome to 21st century teenagers.
I want to buy this game, but I’m a little disappointed that the new seasons pass is twice the amount than the original LIS seasons pass in the PlayStation store....I understand that with the games growing popularity over the years that season 2 was going to cost more than season 1, but I was thinking $5-$10 more not $20 more?!...Sheesh😱
The only reason I got it on Xbox One was because you can't buy the first episode on its own for PS4! Yes for PC on Steam and Yes for Xbox One but the PS4 Store only lists the whole season at $35!
If you want to save your money, wait until the complete season is out on Blu-ray. Then buy it used, play it, and after that sell it for the same price you bought it.
The dialogue is not as cringey as the other LIS games. When I went through the text messages on Sean's phone it looks pretty accurate how people actually text in real life.
does anyone know who the original thumbnail is over for these before you buy thumbnails?
so far I like the original better. the whole rewind concept made it fun.
The thing is.... the original Life is Strange was great and only cost me $20
This is trying to market itself for $60.... is it 3× as good as the original?
Edit: AUD
I don't think LIS was 20 when it first came out...
Definitely want to play this but I'll wait for the full game to come out
I was waiting for your "before you buy" before I bought the game.
I loved the first game to bits, greatest game I ever played, alongside Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines (whole different cup of tea, though). I was immediately excited for Before the Storm even though I was a bit skeptical about it living up to the original, being a prequel and made by a different sudio and all. But then against all odds it turned out to be everything I wanted after all.
So I've been looking forward to this ever since the very first whispers about it and I was totally fine with new characters, too. But then came Captain Spirit and it was just... dull and bland. Nothing about it resonated with me in any way. And then with every bit of trailer they released I got more and more un-hyped for this. I don't even think I'll play it now, I feel nothing for these characters, this setting, anything. No part of this world engages me in the slightest. And hell, I'm pretty liberal, I should be eating this up if that was the only problem with it. But there was just something about the first story as a whole that made it special and so far (future episodes might well improve in that regard) that something is just completely missing from this next chapter. I have rarely felt so let down by a video game sequel and for that to come from a franchise so dear to my heart is honestly painful. Here's hoping Dontnod survives long enough to make LiS 3 a once again interesting game...
ThegreatMizuti777 it was always meant to be anthology and BTS screwed that up and now so many people are only focused on Max, Chloe and Amber, and don’t have space for main characters who are not them.
Look at it as a stand alone game and you feel differently.
bro i thought the same until i played it. it's by far the beat experience with the games. i got so emotionally attached that i still cry at my ending. the choices actually matter in this and it's sk impactful. i highly recommend, you wont be disappointed.
Just finished this episode last night. Wished it was longer but they played up all the necessary story beats and got rid of the elephant in the room by the first episode, so I'm happy! I played and enjoyed the two other Life is Strange games, and preordered this one, so I'm obviously biased, but these games are a must-buy if you're upset over Telltale going under and want to get your interactive story game mode on.
I wish I'd waited, because Episode 3 leaves you in a major cliff hanger. I also wish there was a "Quick save" that could save the game with current choices, and making a bad choice, having the whole game save written over with a "Bad Harvest" Maybe I'll make a batch file that I can do it myself.
This games on my radar but I’m going to wait for all the episodes to be released and or a physical copy
I didn't like it as much as the first LiS. :| oh well
EssCee96 the first was a masta piece but the second is also ok but not on that level

EssCee96 i love the game. Especially after the last episode. In my opinion, lis 1 will always be amazing, but lis 2 made me so much more emotional and sad. I love Sean and Daniels characters
2 is way more impactful. i bawled at the my ending. in lis2, the choices actually matter than in lis1. lis1 is very teenage drama centred and thats all good but theres no depth. lis2 is by far the more heart wrenching one.
So I buy. Ok thanks.
I’m really salty about what happened to Mushroom 😂
Should I get it? I mean I enjoyed the first one but I never played the prequel
IM GONNA SAY IT....... THE VOICE ACTING FOR THE OLDER BROTHER IS HORRIBLE AT TIMES AND THE FACIAL EXPRESSIONS ARE OFF
The voice acting and Facial animations have always been garbage in these games. But the games are still enjoyable.
Sean's voice acting isn't bad. It's fitting, although not I do get what you mean, sometimes it's just, bad.
Facial animation is garbage. Only slightly better than the original. The same for body animation, it's good in terms of realism but bodies are very unexpressive.
@Justin Rodabaugh that is not an excuse look at until dawn, look at beyond two souls, the new walking dead ( not that great but still better ) when your game is episodic and is supposed to tell a story then facial expressions and lip syncing better be good, lip syncing wasnt that great in life is strange 1 and before the storm but it was still one of the best games, it's still important to improve on them tho but i guess they didn't want to.
There is hidden dialogue in the first Life Is Strange. If you 100% the game twice and see both endings then in the background during the credits you will hear the developer's voice whisper in a heavy French accent, "I'm le sorry that the writing in this game is tré weak and full of social justice garbage. I don't understand how teenagers talk or act in real life, but I was told by my fellow Frenchmen that you Americans like to say phrases like 'Shaka-brah' right? For the sequel I will eliminate plotholes, make your decisions actually affect the ending, and have the characters actually be likeable. We will even include a strong male character next time... Hon hon hon, just kidding mon'amie. Shoutout to tween girls on Tumblr for the support. I made this game with you in mind as well everybody who isn't a cis-hetero white male... pouah, because privileged people are tré gross."
Shiro the lip syncing in BTS was much much better than LIS 1 and it has improved with this game
*Everything is political* Even this comment section 🙌
Yes but presenting politics with there exaggerated stereotypes is dumb.
Right?
@@chewbacawookie4507 How's it exaggerated? It's portraying something that has happened many many times. It's undeniable that cops have been shooting a lot of unarmed people in recent years.
ElaborateTiger The shootings are not 1 to 1 with an example in reality. Yes there are undeserved shootings where a cop shoots some one who is unarmed. But not to the degree that is shown in the game. Why does the cop shoot the father? Because the father is standing in front of him? The shooting follows no logic. It just consists of the devs wanting an easy way to start conflict and the story. It just comes off as shitty writing to me.
Im agree. Also in anny case they are monetizing with such delicate theme as this lol
You can buy things from the store! Though maybe it's a task
I'll wait for the complete LIS2 story bundle. Once I start I won't stop, it would burn me waiting for part 2 months later.
Careful with episodic games. Remember what happen tell tale's unfinished games. Lol
And Tell Tale disbanded... That's horrible...
Zip Draw this is backed by Square Enix though
After all the money the original game ranked up, this is going to be fine
There are serval differences between TT and DN. Life is Strange is a own made universe and so no expensive licence was needed. Also it has it's own touch but still is progressing from the first game machanic wise. They have improved the item system and the whole UI.
The episodes have a lot more time in between. (It was 8-10 weeks between the episodes in the first season) So we can expect better quality because the devs had more time to build the story.
DN also don't just realieases this kind of games. Vampyr, for example, is also made by them.
I think they are just fine.
That's why I always wait to buy the full game.
Honestly, as soon as my decisions aren't wiped for the entirety of episode 5, I'd feel like it's better than the first game.
So far tho, I'm extremely disappointed, it's boring and bland and literally no decisions matter for the whole episode, hopefully it gets better.
When did decisions change anything in the past games? Honestly just curious.
The decisions don't seem like they mean anything just yet but they'll mold your little brother's attitude and choices.
Like, if you steal stuff, he'll think that's an okay thing to do.
But I do agree that the choices don't Seem as grand as the first game made things out to be. And the game does drive a little slower but I do think your choices will be more impacting as it goes along. Especially without the safety net of time travel (which I kinda miss but I'm curious to see how this sequel handles the new power)
$63 nzd is a bit much.. I have first 2 but i might wait till this one is cheaper.. I normally would get life is strange on first day but.... I can wait for this one. How many episodes are in it?
I loved this made me cry bro
I was actually surprised at how political the game got. Not complaining, looking forward to the rest of the episodes!
In what way is it political. That's why I've been holding back from getting it
@@thedrunkenirishman9832 They have a character say "Your kind are the reason we need that wall build." Among other things. Take that however you want.
Please don’t consider not buying this game because it’s “political” its not gonna force politics down your throat
Its literally part of reality. Grow up
"Everything is political."
no need to see this. never question dontnod. 🖤😁
@Sir Galahad Than why are you even here? Why did you even click on the video?
@Sir Galahad I used to not like these types of games either, but I've found they provide some of the best stories in gaming. I've started to like stories more now as compared to when I started gaming.
@Sir Galahad I understand. It's more of an interactive story then it is a game. But the focus is story telling, and I feel that dontnod do that well. I get why you can't get into that though, not a genre for everybody. But for what it is the first lis is a great story, so I personally have high hopes for this one.
@Sir Galahad I agree, dontnod made the only interactive story game I've ever liked. Though I bought lis before the storm, which was kind of bad. I haven't liked any telltale or quantic dream games I've played very much. I feel like dontnod make stories good enough to stand on their own and worth buying, and for me lis showed that.
@Sir Galahad I haven't played that in so long I forgot about it. Really good game. The tension in that game and the fact that your decisions actually changed what happened made the game great. But minimum gameplay besides hiding and puzzles is common in horror games.
Watched a 13 hour youtube video of a complete run through of the story. Yes, there were some things I found disagreeable, but such is life. The important thing is that I really grew to care for the characters deeply, and I cried at the end. Then again, I'm a sucker for coming of age stories like this.
The mushroom is my favorite part
Life is Tumblr
Life is Strange always does have problems with that cringy, angsty, television teenager talk.
I kinda hoped they would tie this one in with the original like give the older brother some sort of power and then have some lore behind why teenagers are randomly getting powers even still i wanna see where this story goes so ill wait and see
Spoilers:
The little brother Daniel does have powers.
Thank you
The game is less teenage cringe worth and more mature.
Nasur Akhtar I don’t get what was so cringe about the original... Chloe lost a parent and a friend who more or less was her happiness and Kate was more or less raped . There’s nothing cringe about someone grieving .
Man I don’t get why people just find one specific thing and start hating on it believe me Christian devine is not the greatest of writers but don’t let that ruin the whole experience that they made for you
Did you completely played the first one or just played the first free episode of the mobile version? It was not at all cringy for a teenage drama. Much better than most movies and TV shows.
Yeah portraying people who wants a border wall around a country rasists who kidnap innocent Mexicans!! So mature and BRAVE!!
In all honesty now that I've played the game so far I'm loving the game more then the first. The political sense doesn't bother me people may say it takes up most of the space but it has only took place in the first chapter. And to be honest I like the characters much better I might make people mad but Max and Chloe's angst bothered me. I liked the first part of life is strange but I'm loving the dynamic between family and the fact that what you choose can't rewind so you get heavy emotionally moments. Don't get me wrong life is strange had very emotional moments but I couldn't sit through those moments know Max could have restarted it the whole time.
Spoilers ahead..
See the moment Kate died caught me but after that it didn't affect me much but the first and second chapters of life is strange 2 actually emotionally made me cry
The moment mushroom died I would never want to hurt another creature but the actual rage that I felt made me want to hurt the puma idk it's probably just me
I know Right I Love
Max And Chloe
Sean And Daniel
Life Is Strange 1,2
Are The BEST
R.I.P Mushroom 🍄
LIS1 and LIS2 are amazing. Before the Storm is dispensable, the story of Rachel and Chloe is not as interesting as I thought it was.
Boo, boo
Might cop this
Foreshadowing a bus or plane crash (during the lyla sketch)???
