I used to work at Five Guys for 4 years on/off during college. All ingredients are cut and prepped fresh daily. Things like grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, bacon are not kept overnight and must be made in the morning every day. The only veggies that can sit in the refrigerator overnight are cut fries, lettuce, tomatoes, jalapeños, raw onions, raw mushrooms, peppers, and pickles. Most produce if not used by the end of the 2nd day are thrown out. The beef is also rolled and smashed daily and also will usually be used by the second day. The reason Five Guys costs so much is because the beef for the burgers is Grade A beef (best quality) and the veggies are continually brought in fresh every few days. Therefore you're paying for the higher quality beef and freshness of the veggies. There are no preservatives. When prepping the fries and veggies every morning we would throw out tomatoes or potatoes or other veggies like entire lettuce heads that were not up to par or spoiled from the shipment. Yes, some will complain about the high prices but you're getting higher quality ingredients. You don't get the same quality from In-N-Out or Shake Shack. They use lower quality beef, potatoes and veggies across the board which is why it's cheaper. Shake Shack's fries come in frozen and In-N-Out isn't using grade A beef and using a non-commercial potato(Not russet). Nothing is frozen at Five Guys and the peanut oil used to cook the fries is also expensive. Most places use a cheap oil or type of vegetable oil that isn't really designed for cooking french fries. I did notice the store in the video should've replaced the cut lettuce. It looks a bit wilted and should not be served.
I love Five Guys and go there a lot. But does Shake Shack really use lower quality beef? They serve Pat Lafrieda's burgers while Five Guys uses Schweid and Sons. Both about the same in terms of quality.
I don't mind paying more for quality, freshness. and taste. The closest 5 Guys is a half hour drive for me, but I still make the trip on a regular basis.
Best sandwich 2 thick sliced onions instead of bread. Put a cold hotdog in the center. Layered hot lettuce piping hot ketchup. A little more onion garnish.

It's been ages since I've been to a Five Guys. Though the burgers are pretty good, the best part use to be that you'd order a "small fry" and they'd literally half-fill a to go bag with them. Oh, and they have malt vinegar at the condiment counter which, IMHO, is 100% the best condiment for french fries.

@@resjr.2235 five guys fries are the best fast food fries in America. Also, you can get malt vinegar to put on them which is a bonus because no other place in America does that for some reason, even though it’s normal in the UK

I love the burger but I also come for the cajun fries lol
My uncle owned a 5 guys for years... His head would have exploded when they flopped another round of meat on that grill without giving it a scrape first.
That said... 5 guys is still the best burger joint in the game. People that complain about the price, should just keep buying the garbage from McDonalds, and keep their brokeness to themselves.
We always enjoy 5Guys. Fries Galore!!
This is my spot. This is my favorite burger joint.
the best burger ever. This was the only thing that kept me alive during college
oh man it's takeout friday, i know what i'm voting for
This was so satisfying to watch ❤
Nice video nice place everything is clean 👏 👏👏
How do they keep going ? I'd mess up the orders, food looks delish.
For some reason I always forgot most restaurants serve burgers using lettuce as an option to buns.
You can tell by the looks of the beef that it's pretty good grade of ground round. I've had them and they're excellent burgers.
Melhor fast food de hamburguer que já comi
i love going to five guys with my wife and 2 kids as we share 2 cheeseburgers and a L fry, but it's too expensive to go by yourself imo. but then again we don't go that much so it's a nice treat. what's everyone's five guys order? mine is a double cheeseburger with mayo mustard ketchup with lettuce raw onions and raw jalapenos. and i like to put the malt vinegar on the fries by using the peanut boat to house the fries and vinegar.
Double cheese with pickles and A-1.
Bro if you go to Five Guys you gotta go all out. Double bacon cheeseburger, ketchup, mustard, lettuce, pickles, raw onions and jalapeños if I’m feeling brave.
@@jasonmiller9160 hahaha! might as well! them raw onions and jalapeno's hit so good!!!
Easier to get to than Jim’s Original in Chicago.
There's a Five Guys near my house, off to lunch I go!!
Delicious 😋
I can barely eat a Five Guys burger with 2 patties, who are all these people ordering an extra one lol
I’m within walking distance of one of your locations. It’s been a while since I’ve enjoyed those burgers and shakes so I know what I’m doing tomorrow!
Great Burgers & Fries 😊
It looks good. But no seasoning on the beef? Why you gotta squeeze out the juices of the patty tho?? It would taste a whole lot better with seasoning & not squeezing the juices out
Them lettuces 🥬 aren’t looking too fresh my boy 🧐
It's so delicious 😍
I love your videos ❤ and I really enjoyed its.
Awesome work by the way
I really liked 5 guys. But they have changed on giving large order of fries. Used to be large cup and a full scoop of fries. Now they give you a large cup and measured out of large fries. You are paying close to 20.00 for a double chessburger and large fries.
I know I’m late but I tried it for the first time a few weeks ago. I got a burger and small fry it was 17$ and some change I had to double take at the price. It was good but not worth the money and I wasn’t even completely full
Love the place. There’s option to add every topping, but you dont wanna have everything cuz it’s just taste meh. My favourites are bbq sauce, lettuce, mushroom, and grilled onions.Thier Vanilla Shake and cajun fries are good
Your one of those plain janes I see!! The works is where it's at buddy!
