- Composed by Ken Arnold. Ultima III was the first Ultima game to have a musical score. This transcription is from the Commodore 64 version.
Orion Suydam requested the sheet music -- here ya go: youdzone.com/music/UltimaIIIWa... - Hudba
This remains one of the pieces of video game music that, thirty years or more on, is stuck in my head and I'll catch myself humming along to. I think it might be one of my favorites.
It is still stuck in my head, though in a somewhat abridged form I worked out on the piano back in the day, in F minor rather than F# minor.
Very great work. What a pleasure to remind soft old days when playing Ultima III as a teen.
Awesome, thanks! I played Ultima III as a kid on the C-64, and still whistle this tune after all these years!
Me too!
Wow! Memories!
I love you forever for doing this! I have wanted Ultima sheet music since I was 16. Thank you sooooo much!
This brings back memories! Great stuff!
This is just perfect and I will remember it even if there is nothing left to remember. ❤️
Awesome work!
is there an extended version? like ten hours
badass rhythms in the ending :) wow.
Awesome memories !!
Very nicely done.
Very inspiring music, thank you. I've always wondered if Kenneth Arnold composed other works like those in Ultima III.
Thanks! Arnold wrote the music for Ultima 3 through Ultima 5, and some of Ultima 6.
@@DavidYoud His best works seem (at least to me) to be the music for Ultima III and IV ... I just listened to some of Ultima V music and it somehow didn't enthrall me the way the tune here does. This one sounds like it could have been made by one of the great composers of the past.
I think Ultima III was the first game that I got the music stuck in my head. I think my pirated copy was broken, though ... never got anywhere close to finishing, unlike Ultima IV and Ultima II
Kenneth Cutts Richard Cabot Arnold was 25 when he wrote this. EDIT: Not KWA after all
Ken CRC Arnold is also cool (the Rogue programmer), but this guy is Ken W Arnold.
@@DavidYoud Got it, what a coincidence both have the same name and would work in the computer gaming field at the same time.
@@remeyrune6009 And on the same genre of game (RPG)!
Excellent stuff - any chance of publishing the transcription?
+Orion Suydam Sure! You can now find the link to the sheet music (PDF) in the video description above. Enjoy!
+David Youd thanks so much
Is there a way to mute the music in the C-64 version? I like the sound effects, but the music drives me nuts.
Control S, if I recall.
@@flatfingertuning727 Thanks.
Heresy. Or Blasphemy. Or both!
What is the software you are use sir?
+tahan prahara Hi. I use Sibelius.
where i can download sir?
+tahan prahara You can purchase from www.sibelius.com/ (it's expensive). I really like Sibelius, and it's a mature, feature-rich product, but I'm not convinced it's going to be well supported moving forward.
I've been playing around with MuseScore recently, and so far quite like it. It is free, and it can handle MusicXML as well as MIDI which is quite handy for converting such older computer tunes.
David Youd does the sibelius show the keyboard bar?
