- A very good day CZcamsrs and I hope you've been keeping well. Winter is coming to an end and that can mean only one thing, Spring is round the corner and it's time give Aslan a wash, scrape, wire brush and apply some coats of fresh paint.
I begin with a pleasant cruise and eventually moor up and get down to some good old elbow grease.
Also, I have a few things to say, as well as some news that will come as a surprise to 75% of my subscribers.

A bit of clear coat on Aslan would bring the paint back to a Shine a buffing would be good first then clear coat it would also be a layer of protection to keep the paint from any further damage your videos are great happy boating,

Kevin. I just completed watching all 10 seasons of your adventures, and it has been well worth it. I have really enjoyed all 10 seasons and I can't wait for more. The cooking segments have been wonderful. I would love to take to the canals, but i can't retire yet, and, living in New York state, the winters are harsh, and there are only 500 plus miles of canals. I was wondering if Aslan could be painted with truck bed liner. I wonder if at least her gunells and the diamond plate at her bow and stern and maybe the length of her top would benefit from it. Thank you for the wonderful adventures, all the sights, all the towns and everything. Very excellent, very well done. PS Aslan is a beautiful boat.
I had the same diagnosis on my arm. The doctor told me there was no treatment and it might or might not go away. After several years of growing, it finally just disappeared. It didn’t bother me at all. Don’t you just love how people can diagnose you so easily?
Great to hear that Susan. I've been told the same since they appeared. That was 5 years ago - still there. In a last ditch attempt, I've packed in caffeine and gluten as I've read many have had success with it. Can take up to 4 months for any change to become noticeable though. Ah well, at least I get to sleep fully at night. :)

Many thanks. I can highly recommend giving it a shot. The withdrawal symptoms only last 3 to 4 days, which in the scheme of things is a small price to pay I'd say. I sleep extremely well now, have a much clearer head (think more clearly). Plus I save a fortune on takeaway lattes. If I'm out and suddenly fancy a takeaway, I get a decaf latte or flat white. Thanks for the surprise video. I went to Harris forty years ago. I remember beautiful white sandy, deserted beaches, the bluest of seas and a bucket of amazing locally smoked kippers in a village shop. If you sit near a beach long enough the seals and otters will start to appear. Have a lovely trip, can’t wait for the videos.

I'm late to watching this video, but it was nice to see Aslan getting a paint refresh. I'm looking forward to seeing your motorbike travels, I am fond of camping myself. I have a hot tent setup that I have been getting familiar with this month. My family and I are going to be camping in a rural area that will be directly in the path of the upcoming solar eclipse, happening April 8. I have a hot water tank attachment for my small wood stove and a baking oven that attaches to the chimney pipe so we can have coffee and bake biscuits or cookies. We are really looking forward to that trip! It was great to catch another of your videos, as always! Best wishes for the year ahead!

Dandelion root chopped up and roasted in a pan until very dark brown, then ground up, make a nice coffee substitute x

It’s nice to see Aslan getting her annual spruce up. Have a fabulous time in Scotland! By the way, I had the same thing on my hands and got similar questions. The doctor said it would clear up eventually on its own, and it did. I hope yours is fine, too.

I can relate from personal experience as a Jr. Engineer US MMC STCW QMED AS-E retired, that water contamination in diesel fuel usually produces heavy white diesel exhaust smoke. 😊🤓 You could still completely correct about having gotten a dose of bad fuel. It is just less likely it was water contamination absent very heavy white exhaust.

You chose the right day to do it. Normally one need only open a tin of paint, be it exterior house-paint or for touching up a vehicle, for the rain to bucket down. A pity that the Scottish canals are not connected to the English and Welsh networks. I do watch your cooking videos and it is interesting to see someone working in a kitchen smaller than mine!
Funny you should say that, Stephen. There were quite a few moments where the sky turned an ominous black, but nothing came of it thankfully.
