      I am a Bills fan and I would honestly say that the window never truly opened. This team could win a SB, I just fear it is so slime of a margin. You can say they have gotten hit with the injury bug at the worst time. That would just be an excuse though. I think coaching and leadership in the Org is the true problem.

      I'm with you, as long as Allen is healthy, and the Defense remains a focus, they will be nearly automatic playoff locks, and potential contenders. And I say this after Diggs left to the Texans. Allen is definitely the type of QB who elevates the performance of those around him. That said, Curtis Samuel could have a career year this season, incredible signing!

      Honestly with Josh at the helm, I could see Samuel hit 1000 yds and 10 TD's easy. All depends on how Joe Brady decides to use him, but ...he certainly has the explosive playmaking ability to pull those numbers off. Not to mention he's one of the most QB-friendly receivers in the league. Great signing, from this guy's perspective

      @@juststop022no he won't at all. He is what he is. If they used him correctly, then he should be a big slot WR and not an X. He's a really limited route runner and not fast enough to be an actual deep threat. He's the king of diminishing returns. He'll get more production by getting more targets, but it'll just be because of attrition and not because he's somehow utilized better. He was only the boundary WR because Buffalo has never really properly addressed the position since Gabe got there. He was a much more efficient player when he was used in the slot and as a WR4. Jags overpaid him big time.

    Bills management and coaching love versatile players. If they decide to go WR in the draft and that player is not ready right away, Samuel can step in and play the "X" role. They want Diggs snaps to come down as well. He can play behind Diggs in that role. Samuel will be used as a utility guy/swiss army knife all over the field.

      Totally agree. We're getting a true X receiver in the draft to be our Holt. Then this is going to be hands down the most dangerous offense in the league. People are upset because they see Samuel being the same as Shakir. They are NOT the same. Also, Shakir to me at least looks like a really solid #3 receiver. But that just means he is a great 4th receiver. Samuel will be the number 2 target out of the slot, and then that yet to be drafted X will be the number 3. With Kincade at TE, and Knox behind him, and Cook and Johnson at RB, not only will the skill position starters be great across the board, but they will be deep and able to exploit mismatches in multiple personnel sets and formations. I am really looking forward to watching this offense take off and break some records this year!

He was a top 3 guy for like 4 years in a row including a 1st team all pro nod before last year and was still back half of the top 10 despite the 2nd half dip. But yes the combo of Holt AND Bruce is definitely better overall. But Allen>>Warner.

    Don’t forget about Justin Shorter. I think people are sleeping on him. For good reason. He missed the entire season with a hamstring. Generally, players won’t miss an entire season with a hamstring injury. I think they protected him with the IR tag. He was the best WR in the country coming out of high school. Went to PSU with no QB, and a run heavy offense. Transfers to UF, Mullen gets fired, and he’s back in a run heavy system with Napier. I think the Bills used the year to improve his overall game, and he could be somewhat of a surprise. He could also get cut 😂

    I think there is no choice but to draft a WR in the 1st round. Unless you can guarantee that Polk, Legette or maybe even Baker will be there at 60 and that doesn't seem likely. The only options the Bills have are to move up and take a WR, sit on their hands and see whos there at WR or move back a couple spots and take a WR. There is no other choice. The level of talent that is there between WR 1-6 is not the same as 7-10. There is a significant drop off once you get outside of the top guys and the level doesnt pick back up until like late round 2 - 3 graded guys.

    Analysts always seem to make the same mistake every offseason, which is assuming whatever the team was last year, thats what they are gonna do this year. But its just not usually true. Its pretty obvious the Bills are transitioning as an offense. They were a very different offense last year than the year before, and that same statement will be true this upcoming year.
    With that said i think yall, and all the other analysts are missing something. 1st, Shakir will be the slot guy, Samuel was brought in to be a guy whos moved around, kind of like what they wanted (but never really got) out if Isiah McKenzie. The number 2 is gonna be Kincaid most likely. Knox is more of a traditional, block first T.E.. These are all important aspects of what the Bills want to be, and probably will be. I expect Samuel to be the 4th or 5th option depending on the draft. But i think you'll find Shakir is the actual #1 slot guy. Samuel is meant to be the versatile piece this team has been missing the last few years.

    • @peterwilson4865
      @peterwilson4865 Před 2 měsíci

      Both Samuel and Shakir are what I would characterize as "positionless" WRs. Both are ideally suited for the slot, but both are dynamic and big enough to handle the boundary duties when called upon. If they get an X that's a true deep threat at 28 or 60 (Franklin/Worthy/Leggette), it doesn't necessarily mean that guy is going to get a shit load of targets. Allen throws around 600 attempts a year on average. I think they will do better with Diggs's load management in the 2nd half of the year to keep him fresh and efficient in his opportunities. Just with Gabe, Sherfield, and Harty leaving frees up like 130 targets to be redistributed amongst the group. Maybe Diggs's usual 160 or so go down to 130, so that's more opportunity. Samuel is a better player and more dynamic athlete than Shakir. He'll be above him on the pecking order, but I think they both easily end up with 90+ targets. There's plenty to go around.

How does it make no sense? They signed an objectively better WR than Gabe for like 60% of the cost. Gabe was miscast as a boundary WR and is an incredibly inefficient and limited football player. • @Donnybrook10

    Samuel is a big step up from Gabe Davis and we're gonna see him break out. We're still not sure what happened last season but Davis ran the wrong route several times and the majority of Allen's picks were throwing to Davis. Translation, Davis can't win contested balls and he doesn't go get it. I've seen Davis' route running in person and they are poor. He telegraphs and rounds off his cuts. He's not fast, has a very limited route tree and won't beat any corner. Davis takes forever to get up to speed and when he did get open, it was late in his routes so often too late. All for Davis' success were because Josh is a God and put the ball on his numbers in impossible situations. Buffalo needs speed and Davis wasn't it. Jax overpaid bigtime for him and Bills Mafia are over the moon with Samuel. We are targeting Bryan Thomas Jr or Adonai Mitchell in rd 1. If they're gone, we will go for a stud DI. Look for Buffalo to possibly move up because we have 11 picks. If all the top WRs are gone at 28, 23 might even move back.

He had to do so with Dorsey's playbook, but the differences in pre-snap motion and game planning were night and day. They just committed to running the ball more and the team was better off as a result. Maybe that increase in running was an edict from McDermott, but it was a highly successful one as the results speak for themselves.

      @@thegreat9481 to be exact the contract in actuality is a one year deal worth about 12.6 million or a two year deal worth 16 million. The third year doesn’t get any guaranteed cash until the start of the 2026 league year and it’s a one year team option for 8 million…. Again yall need to stop yapping on things yall don’t fully understand but it’s the internet it gives dummies like you the opportunity to shine

      @@legendofsaigSamuel>>Shakir. I love Shakir but people are really giving him more credit than he's earned to this point. Samuel will have more targets than Shakir this year if they are both healthy for the majority of it, but both can easily get 90+ even if they draft 2 more WR, so I don't think it really even warrants a discussion. Both will be heavily involved.
