This is a piece done exclusively for Pilot Pens. They were very kind and interested in my work. This might be the first of many drawings to promote this awesome brand of writing tools. There is a video shot of parts of the process if you're interested in looking how I paint certain parts of this piece.

Very time consuming
You know what impresses me most? The fact that he made it look like he hasn't made one mistake. (Of course he actually has made some mistakes, but the way he works with it make it seem like there's none.)
This looks airbrushed by a master - and it's pen work. The best I've seen.
The proportions, the shading, the smoothness, the glare and shine, the detail, the texture, this is a truly beautiful artwork.

The link doesn't appear to be working for me but how did you get the pen to produce a skin like visual when I try to draw skin with a pen it either comes out too heavy or too light and have "scratch" marks appear.

What wonders a simple tool can make in the appropriate hands!
I often say today some the best looking things are done on digital medium, But hell its always nice when something like this comes along and gives me a kick in the ass and reaffirms that traditional mediums are still and always will be boss :).
i so much could have used you tube for learning art 40 years ago,but it,s never to late ,like they say,now days i learn so much from it ,i maily paint landscape in oil,and the information on it,s endless.thank you.

Definitely pilot pen. Tried so many and ive settled on this as the best for drawing control

just one question.....we're you ever locked up in jail/prison....the only place I have ever seen art as amazing and detailed and perfect is from in the pen....my uncle used to send me art all the time and it kept me inspired as an artist my whole life.....cheers brother...your gift is amazing

I put myself in a situation where I only had access to 3" safety pens (just the ink tube and tip) I'd make pen holders out of rolled up paper and deodorant labels. Now I have access to any art supplies I want, but I keep going back to the ballpoint for the satisfaction of creating something with so little. Fantastic work and very inspiring. Thanks
