    The bulbs are all still working. We even have four tubes that switch on and off probably 10 times per day at least. The Led's don't seem to mind this.

      +Bill and Rosa Off Grid Homestead Done with all the other light bulbs, LED only.
      If your going off grid and on batteries it's really something people should be using. Changing out to all the leds has been great at the store, wind and solar keeps up good.

    I was tasked with replacing all the 8' tubes with new Phillips 4' LED tubes at my workplace, there were about 100 fixtures and they got all the LED tubes and a retrofit kit for each fixture that included everything required to change the 8' 2 bulb fixtures to hold 4 of the 4' tubes. They got the ones that take a ballast, so the old ballasts were replaced by those.
    Overall the light output I'd guess was about 10% brighter, and the LED's use half the power and the electric co rebate program almost paid the whole cost.
    As an aside, while on the ladder I accidentally dropped one of the LED tubes, I was pushing it into the end socket and it slipped and slipped out of my hand and fell about 8 or 9 feet and hit the wood floor, didn't do any damage at all to it!

    Great videos you do. I think you explain things so most everyone can understand. I have a better understanding now of the wind and solar. Your new led lights give a brightness to the areas that was not there before. Looks good and it's always fantastic to save on the electric bill. Thanks for the effort put into your videos. And thanks to everyone that helps you.

    Cool stuff Jeff. Hey, I moved 12 solar panels onto my backyard fence line. Power is up! Made a DIY racking system using Superstrut. 54 deg set point and adjustable.

      +Chris DIYer Really cool and pretty cheap to do. How's it work ?

    • @ChrisDIYerOklahoma

      Please check out my Channel...did several vids. Learned a lot. Overall, the cost was MUCH lower and it is sturdy. The one BIG thing I learned was NOT to buy nuts/bolts/washers from Lowe's or Home Depot...stupid overpriced. I went to Tractor Supply and got Grade 8 by the pound for about 1/3 the price. Superstrut and spring clamps are ridiculously easy to work with. Overall...removing 12 100w panels off of the flat pergola and onto the fence line at 54 degrees was actually like adding 450 watts to my total system power. Crazy better. How is your tilter/tracker going?

    • @MissouriWindandSolar
      @MissouriWindandSolar  Před 8 lety

      +Chris DIYer Your right about over priced nuts and bolts at Lowes and Home Depot. I buy my bolts by the pound to at Kliers farm center. Really cheap to. Tractor supply is also another great place for bolts. Farm centers are usually pretty good price on a lot of things.

      @MissouriWindandSolar  Před 8 lety

      +Chris DIYer The tracker seems to be working really well. Man it really picks up a lot more power then a rigid mount system. Costs more though, but worth it if you have the money.

    Good idea as usual. However if I make this conversion, I think that I will merely cut the wires and bypass the ballast. It may be beneficial to leave it in place just in case there ever comes a time when those LEDs are no longer available. Just a thought.

    Will be passing your info on. So many companies still using old tubes. You may have become a dark knight in the green energy world but your still leading the way.

      +ian57812 Dark Knight , i kinda like that.
      I haven't been making videos lately but be back at this week. The old tubes are a waste of energy. Love the new Led tubes, nice light in the workshop.

    Hi Jeff, Do you have these bulbs available in 8 foot length? I have a large shop with many 8 foot fixtures. They are not split into two, four foot length bulbs. The bulbs themselves are 8 foot. Thanks, Jason

      @MNhockeydude35 Před 8 lety

      I have the same situation I found these I just ordered them I thought about splitting them and replacing the ends and putting in four ft bulbs as it would be a little cheaper but I think I will just go with this. I will probably install them this week. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SUMEJRA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
