ANA 2 - What it Do?

- Here is our admittedly super long ANA video manual. Doing the overview video for ANA was kind of tough because it is sort of like doing a demo for 9 different modules and they all work in a bunch of different contexts. As a result, we decided to focus this video on the absolute basics of the module to hopefully give you the fundamental understanding needed to use it. There will be another, hopefully shorter, video following this one showing some actual musical patch examples using ANA.
For the written manual and to order go to our website here:

Here is a link to the awesome replacement IDUM panel that I forgot the name of in this video. To be fair "nkurence" is not an easy word to remember:

The definition of deep dive. Great video! Since I got Ana2 last week I haven't made a patch without it. If you ever get time, I'd love a detailed video on the Specra Mirror.
I'm actually working on a new version of the Spectra Mirror. As much as I love the old one it was early in my career and there are some design decisions that I would not have made again. The new one is going to keep the stuff that nothing else does but make it easier to access. Hopefully it will also be in stereo :D
@@MysticCircuits And I thought my rack was finished. 🙂
I was looking for a nice video about this module. 2 hours! Couldn't ask for more. Will watch it soon.⚡️
This reminds me of why I need a logic module in my life! Just having the ability to effect a note sequence by reducing all the notes that are the higher notes would be an amazing bit of control! This 2 hour epic is a gift! Been getting more interested in your modules over the past little while. Wish I had a touring machine already and then I’d pick up a Leaves without hesitation!
very very powerful, and very patch programmable, as you usually design modules :-)
when mind gets to the next level the inner eye will easily see what else
logic is open to any question, no?
Let me consult my crystal ball and I'll get back to you, right now the outcome is uncertain.
What an ace looking module ... Looking forward to getting my hands on one in the not too distant future. Unrelated, but have you ever considered doing voice overs for movies? I'm definitely getting hints of "in a land ..."
I'd love to do voice overs. I did some prop work for movies and didn't really enjoy being a part of that industry even as small of a part as I was. I have had folks say that I have a radio voice and think it could be fun but I don't really know what it looks like to break in.
I knew this module had more to it than meets te face. A two hour video manual though? Hell yeah! Got my module in 2 days ago, super excited.
I hope this video answers all of your questions rather than creating more of them :P
@@MysticCircuits Modular in a nutshell hahah. I feel like I am attending a university every time I seek more knowledge. Having fun though!
Are you attending Superbooth later this month? Would love to come by your booth if you do.
@@nr7975 sadly no its just not in the cards for me this year.
@@MysticCircuits Fair enough. Wishing you well with the sales!
This looks like a really fun utility module! Logic is underrated.
This looks awesome. Hopefully I'll be able to pick one up soon...
"Music". Haha, welcome back, dude.
Yo I havent heard from you in forever! This Ana is an even crazier distortion than before.
@@MysticCircuits still around, took a hard knock from covid period and a couple of bad studio runs after, but dust has settled and I'm currently rebuilding my rig. I was already planning to grab one of these, so set one aside for me, congrats on v2!!
@@fuzzpope pandemic was a hard time for a lot of folks financially. The synth business was weird everyone wanted gear but the parts shortage made it impossible to build stuff. Now that the parts shortage is over sales have slumped but I think things are just kind of settling. Even just looking at the modules that came out 5 years ago and things looked really different.
@@MysticCircuits agreed. As said in O' Brother, where art thou, "Hard times flush the chumps.". I'd laugh at this euphemism a bit more if I wasn't in the chump flushing group, haha. Well, I only got partially flushed, like a semi-flushing, enough to know I'm not into the whole chump flushing thing. Survival in base terms is something I think a lot of people in the western world took for granted until covid took away all the toilet paper and gave out free lessons. My first lesson was my grandfather dying in the first wave, that got my immediate attention. I am very, very grateful that things weren't worse than they were, for everyone. I'm glad you soldiered through, homeboy! I'll be pestering you again in PM
's once I get one of these wired up, haha.
@@fuzzpope these days I think there are more chumps than chimps and everyone seems to be howling at each other. I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather, I think we all know a few people who died in the pandemic but it hits home when its someone that close. I hope the rest of your family is doing well, I'll keep an eye out for your message.
Is Mag like the "difference rectifier" in NLC neuron circuits?
Yes exactly, Id have to double check what else the neuron has going on but its a difference rectifiet.
@@MysticCircuits Thanks for the clarification. As to what more is going on with the neuron, seems to be something to do with squid.
@@GeorgeLocke I haven't tried a fried neuron yet but I've fried a few
Any ideas for self patching?
The vca opens a lot of exploration.
I wrote a really long reply and then clicked slightly outside the window and youtube deleted it :/. I have an example patch in the written manual on my website with an incredible distortion patch that utilizes self patching and that I spent a lot of time testing out. I also have a patch in this video in the processing modulation section for step that uses the step output to modulate one of the LFOs coming in for some feedback randomness. I suggest when feedback patching directly back into ANA to make use of the main inputs so that you can limit or invert the feedback signals. I'll make sure to explore this more in the patch demo video coming next!
two hours hell yeah
Im so tired
VERT 2?
I have plans for a vert 2 but haven't started development on it yet. I have Tree coming back next (after our video oscillator release this summer so Tree will be probably this Autumn) and have actually started prototyping a new version of spectra mirror that might be soon after. Vert 2 is going to be digital and therefor requires gaining some new skills but trust me that it is going to be a much wilder beast than the first one.
@@MysticCircuits Awesome! Can't wait to see what it's gona be like in a digital version. I own 2 Verts and I use them all the time. They are incredible for sequencing a whole patch.
@@terryyaki7782 whoah! Do you have any recordings of that? I'd love to check it out
@@MysticCircuits I will send you some recordings asap ;)
@@MysticCircuits Vert 2! Yesssss.
We dont need to see your face
Im not sure why you felt like you needed to leave this comment.
