    Our grass panels have been a real game changer for the Cal Sprigs Crew. I originally made these grass panels for use in a pit blind. Very soon, we saw that we could hang them from green garden stakes out in the marsh. (6 foot green garden stakes from Home Depot or Ace Hardware.)We usually bring two grass panels per Hunter. We have killed lots of waterfowl, using these panels in area of marginal cover. …….Uncle Steve

    Well I apparently never seen this video until today. I’m definitely going to make some of these because I’ve seen firsthand how good they work. Great instructional video. Only about 9.5 more months

    Looks good, got my idea seeing Steve in marsh last year. Did the same thing, but at the bottom I put a pvc t, removed the plastic off garden stakes and then they slid in the half inch pvc perfectly, drilled a couple holes for a d ring pin, so I can adjust the height. the stakes just slide in and out, pin it where necessary

    Thank you for sharing your design. Im making six panels for next season. Would love to see a video on how you haul your gear out to your spot. Im looking to ditch the game cart and try something new this year.

      Glade to hear it! We still use a game cart multiple at times.

    Thanks for this your videos are great! I'm starting my 3rd year duck hunting and I I am the Yolo bypass, do you think these blinds are worth it for me? I'm gonna probably make them either way but would love to hear why you prefer to use them? I think you hunt nearby from the looks of it. Appreciate it!

      Thank for the support! And yes I hunt the same areas. And yes they are very much worth it! They will allow to hunt areas where there is less natural cover and where less ppl will be. Good luck this season!

      I'll be out at yolo with my newly made grass panels. I think these are going to be a game changer for me and my daughter. Can't wait for opening day!

    Cutting the rope doesn’t make the entire thing come apart? This is a good video, other videos say do not cut that rope or it will completely fall apart. Thanks.

    • @stevedyer5902
      @stevedyer5902 Před rokem

      No, cutting the rope simply allows you to stretch the panel like an accordion. We have done it for years. Uncle Steve

    How do you haul it into refuges? How many panels you hauling?

    • @stevedyer5902

      We use the decoy cart to carry our guns, decoys, other supplies. After everything else is tied down securely, we lay down the grass panels on top and strap them down with light pressure to avoid damage. We usually bring two panels per Hunter…..Uncle Steve

    What wire are you using?

    • @stevedyer5902
      @stevedyer5902 Před rokem +1

      We use #12 solid copper wire with plastic jacket. Cut wires to 12 inches long and then fold in half. We use electrical tape to wrap the bottom portion of the wire to the green garden pole. Good luck. Uncle Steve
