  • Interviews are not meant to be one way traffic when it comes to questions and answers. As much as the interviewer is trying to establish if you are right for the role, it is just as important for you to find out if this is the right role and company for you. In this video I share "5 Great Questions to Ask Your Interviewer" to help you engage in the recruitment process and evaluate whether the proposed position is a good opportunity for you. Doing an good job of assessing the role and asking the right questions can be the difference between finding yourself in a great environment or finding out later that you jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire. Ask questions!
If you have any additional insights or helpful suggestions on great questions to ask an interviewer, I look forward to you sharing them in the comments.

Hi Kudzi. Im SO happy I found you. I subscribed and have been learning a lot! I'm calling the compliance manger at a bank that I want to work for tomorrow. I feel much more prepared to talk about compliance with her after watching your videos. Compliance is a career pivot for me, so I need all the help I can get! :)

Hi Kudzai! I just completed my second round with the Compliance Manager and I feel great about it. I used some of your tips and recommendations! Thank you so much! I've subscribed. ❤ I believe I will hear from them again. There is a third round with HR. Any idea of how this will differ? I am equally nervous as I am excited. 😅Thanks again!

Thank you for subscribing and congratulations on getting this far with your interview. The HR interview is usually more your salary expectations, notice period at your current job, and to understand if you are a cultural fit with the organisation. They might ask why you want to work for the company and get clarity on any grey areas in your resume. All the best with the HR interview!!!

@@CompliancewithKudzai thank you! Turns out I will be interviewing with 2 Senior Compliance Attorneys instead. My first was with the recruiter, second with the CA Manager. Should I expect any different from your initial response?

@@CompliancewithKudzai …Also I think I low balled my salary expectations with the recruiter ($55k/yr). On one hand Glassdoor says the pay (for the company) is low anyway but on the other hand, research of the area (Dallas TX) shows about 10 grand more a year. Thoughts?

@Jessica Cordova you lowballed it. And never give a definitive number. Give a range. You will need to consider the value of the TOTAL compensation package.

@@jessicacordova5409 Hi there, what level position did you interview for? I don't recall you mentioning.
Remember salaries even within the same level will vary from company to company. Even within the same organisation a compliance officer within the retail banking side will likely earn less than a compliance officer of the same level on the investment banking side. So without a lot more information I couldn't really say whether you were lowballed or not.
If your research shows that for your level, within that industry that's the average salary you might be aligned. If not then use your research to negotiate before you sign the contract.
