Just like any Pokemon game, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are filled with interesting secrets and Easter eggs all throughout the games' world, and in today's video, we're gonna be looking at them! If you go to Hassel’s Art Classroom in the Academy, you will find on the wall nearest to the entrance a painting of what appears to be Outback Australia. The painting features Uluṟu (the giant reddish-brown rock that is sacred to the local Aboriginal First Nations people of that area).

Some of the art pieces in Artazon are actually Secret Base decorations from ORAS. Specifically the expensive ones you can buy from the Lilycove Museum.
A the beginning Clavell mentions in the past people had to "use notebooks and pens to study Pokémon", a reference to Legends Arceus.
Cool detail. Nice to see someone else besides me who also felt it was a Legends Arceus reference. This also means BDSP is canon in the timeline Scarlet and Violet are in, as that remake game is canon to Legends Arceus, not only for the new book added in the Canalave Library in BDSP that foreshadows Legends Arceus and provides a solution to a puzzle in Legends Arceus, but also, there's an island in Legends Arceus that shares part of it's name with part of Ramanas Park's name, the place that replaces the Pal Park that was in the original Diamond and Pearl games.
@@zigazav1 Well, there's technically no timeline, so Arceus is canon to Platinum and Violet. Not the remakes. I enjoyed Brilliant Diamond since I replayed Diamond that same year in anticipation for the remakes' release, but, all the remakes are chopped to are "Better Diamond and Better Pearl", plus, with your logic, Orre is canon because Quaquaval in-universe inspired Miror B.'s dance moves.
An interesting fact I discovered about Scarlet and Violet deals with something that is missing from the game. That is the Pokemon Absol. Absol has been in every major Pokemon title since its initial release in Ruby and Sapphire. As Absol's various Pokedex entries state that the Pokemon appears in area where disasters are set to occurs to warn people, Absol's absence points to the fact that the Paldea region was never in any immediate danger from the Paradox Pokemon. Absol might return in the future in DLC, like it did for Sword and Shield, continuing its perfect attendance streak.
I hope it does, Absol is literally my favorite pokemon
Or Absol was too many times seen as the cause for a disaster that this time it just thought, "Screw this, I'm out, they can warn themselves for all I care."
Or that Professor Turo/Sada's dream to peacefully have paradox pokemon and modern day pokemon live together was really not a threat at all to the world like everyone else including AI Turo and Sada at all. I agreed with Sada/Turo's last wish to allow paradox pokemon to live in peace with today's pokemon. I understand the whole destroying the world's ecosystems in the process but I dont think that's as big of a deal as we think it will be unfortunately. But maybe im a fool and not thinking "Jurassic Park/Jurassic World" in this aspect.
That shiny Espeon behind the Roaring Moon caught my attention instantly despite only being there for a split second, went back a few frames to make sure I wasn't imagining things.

On one hand, it's kind of sad that Pokerus was deleted, but on the other, it's surprising that it has lasted this long. It's far rarer than shinies, and its only effect is something which is only of interest for competitive players.
Also, an easter egg no one has mentioned is that at the end of the game, they say the School ID numbers of the 4 major characters including the player. Penny's ID number ends in the Pokedex number for Starmie.

Anyone else wonder why nurse Miriam does that same hair curl animation as Sonya and her mom did in S&S? Or why Raifort's hair twitches constantly (assuming its intentional)? Also Ryme and Tyme being ghost and rock specialists similar to Agatha and Bertha being ghost and ground. Quaxly's 2nd stage does ballet in its animations, you probably knew that, but what you might not have know is that when it faints, it does the famous pose from ballet the Black Swan as the titular black swam dies. I think I'm forgetting more things too that I noticed throughout my playthrough.

@@dweebicusmaximus Maybe its not intentional and the hair physics is messed up or its some kind of animation bug.
But the way it constantly does it seems somewhat intentional. It matches her personality too, like she is a huge simp for history that tries to act very calm but the hair reveals her pent up energy by twitching. (its a fictional world after all)
Also have you ever tried to make hair affected by wind in a game engine? It doesn't happen by accident. So why would they go through the process of making the hair able to do that if it wasn't somewhat intentional? But it could a physics bug or animation bug.

I love how Foongus' new Dex entry is saying that just because it wouldn't make any sense that Amoonguss had a Pokeball-shaped body in the past
That Foongus dex entry is interesting.Another interesting thing we then have to look at is this: In the games, in the Memory Link event A New Light, Drayden claims that Poké Balls did not exist during his childhood. According to the Encyclopedia Pokemonica, Pocket Monsters Encyclopedia, and a Pokémon Daisuki Club site describing the Pokémon world, modern Poké Balls were developed in 1925 from the research of Professor Westwood of Celadon University.
So that means Professor Westwood either travelled to Unova or Foongus was initially native to Kanto.
Its possible Annihilape and Paldean Wooper are actually the originals though... but for some reason in Primeapes case, it eventually lost the ability to evolve (Which would make it a Galarian Zigzagoon line case, which is the original, changed form but lost Obstagoon in the process because it didn't need it anymore).

@@primarinegaming6761 Its Alola dex entry. It might not have been able to evolve previously, just like Galarian Zigzagoon is the original Zigzagoon, but lost the ability to evolve because it didn't need to anymore.
Diamond Dust is also a rare occurrence in the game. I experienced it last night in the early morning! The snow is glitter shaped and comes in shimmering waves while you're on Glaseado Mountain, and the weather icon displays what looks like two gemstone silhouettes with sparkles next to it! If you want pictures, I have them!
I have seen of two other people experiencing it, including a video you can look up here on CZcams. The trigger is completely unknown despite previous games having it on certain dates. In SMUSUM it happens on the player's birthday, but my birthday isn't until near the end of this month.

Something I thought was interesting is that the theme for Team Star’s grunts has a bit of Ultra Necrozma’s battle theme in it, if you listen closely enough. I guess it was to show how bright they shine lol
Necrozma is essentially the Star Legendary.

I'd love to have another Scarlet and Violet Easter egg video. I didn't go around and mess with NPCs and such like I usually do since these games are bigger so any fact that can be thrown my way I'd appreciate it. Also, that star fact at the end really blew me away
You missed another part of the Galar hints. You can spin and try to do Leon's pose from Galar.

If you can, I highly recommend covering some of the real world places that are portrayed in SV. There are a lot, and they were shown pretty well imo
It's interesting seeing how many connections there are to Galar...I actually thought they re-used the music for the Tera part of gym battles from Galar's Dynamaxing in stadiums, but I went back and listened and it's actually just really similar, especially having the chant component.
Specifically, the cheering part of the song of Gym Battles in this game being similar to the cheering part of Gym Battles of Sword and Shield when you have left the Gym Leader with only their last Pokemon left for you to defeat
As far as easter eggs go, a clever one I found was north of Casseroya Lake. When using the map, locate the river surrounding the chamber of Ting-Lu. It has an outline reminiscent of an Onyx (right) and a Steelix (left) that have been joined at tail (perhaps it is a river pun?). Nonetheless, there are other aspects of the map that seem to be allusions (i.e. the location of the sky titan looks like a stork), but this one is the most obvious at a glance.

@@misamisaa4547 To be honest, despite Team Star not really being an evil team (like how Team Yell in Sword and Shield not truly being evil, and just are a group of crazy fans and also Gym Trainers who just took things too far) but the fact about their backstory, made me like them as the "Team" of this game. Team Yell however, I could not care less about them. My respect for them as the "Evil Team" of SwSh is absolute 0.

My favorite Easter Egg is the fact that Pikachu can learn Surf. A throwback to the Surfing Pikachu mini game in Yellow version
Hmm is it really an easter egg if pikachu has been able to learn surf for at least since ORAS, likely longer?
i remember in US/UM if you got a high enough score on the mantine surfing game you would be rewarded with a pikachu that knows surf AND you heard about a pikachu that knows fly from the same guy which could be related to the pikachu mystery gift with a flying tera type

There's an Easter Egg you didn't mention. That one of the town's has every Gen 1 sprite that was used for different Pokemon back in the day!!
Nice detail there, even though I simply do not care about nearly any Gen 1 reference in modern Pokemon games as a whole, at all. I don't like Charizard either, Genwunners ruined both Charizard and Gen 1 for me. They treat Charizard like some powerful thing "you must respect" and some badmouthing the Bulbasaur line. Charmander is the absolute worst Starter choice in Gen 1. And the Bulbasaur line is the best choice for a Gen 1 playthrough, due to it having the advantage over the first two Gym Leaders while Charmander line struggles with both Gym Leaders due to the Type matchups. Also, I felt BDSP gets far more disrespect than it deserves. Sure, it's a broken game that never got all it's bugs and glitches patched out. People treat it as the worst Pokemon game. Here's my hot opinion that likely will get Genwunners to yell at me: Gen 1 is the worst Pokemon game in both story and how broken it is. BDSP's battle system at least works perfectly. Gen 1 suffers from so many glitches in both battle and overworld. And I don't just say that out of my hate for Gen 1. I did not intend to have this be a rant against Genwunners and Gen 1, I wrote this so long, and it was to the point that it'd be a waste of effort and time spent doing that, if I discarded or edited out my little "talk" of my hatred for Gen 1. Also, I'm very sleepy, so any errors you might see in this comment, you can blame it on that
I like how you can have five guaranteed Marked Pokémon before clearing the “A Way Home” storyline: the Titan Pokémon. You can catch all five as soon as you battle Arven outside the lighthouse lab. This even includes Great Tusk/Iron Treads.

The hair of your mother changes based on the hair color you choose for your character, it's a nice little bit of attention to detail by the devs

It is said in the fairy star base that Penny was sent to her home region (Galar) for a year and a half and in swsh he is introduced as visiting from school. Also also while in Area 0 when the group is talking about the families she says that she doesn’t have her mother and just us an over protective father which is what we see in the DLC of swsh

I caught the Cassiopeia reference immediately given how obsessed with stars and constellations I was as a kid. It unfortunately made me think it was WAY too obvious, but at the very least I've been since reminded that not everyone just knows that bit of astronomy off-hand as I do.
I figured they were alligned with Team Star in some way, as their alias is space-themed, and the fact how they spoke of Team Star. I also figured Penny was involved too, based on how she spoke prior to her reveal as the big boss of Team Star. I was not fooled by the Director claiming to be Team Star's big boss, the way our mysterious caller talked and the Director spoke of while nearby, made it completely illogical for him and Cassiopeia being the same person. You can't pull that off with pre-recorded audio, it's just completely illogical given previous conversation prior to him lying about being Cassiopeia, and also Team Star's big boss

Honestly, if they had just ported Platinum as it was without any changes it would have made for a better game. I actually did play Platinum right after and it felt like the upgraded version.

I’ve noticed another Easter egg while playing the game that when you battle a Poké Maniac you can see that they’re wearing a shirt that has the Poke Star Studio logo on it, the movie studio that’s from the Unova region which makes me believe that we’re getting a Unova remake
I'm surprised you didn't mention the fact that the game tells you Penny is also from Galar during thes Team Star storyline, and it kinda makes sense when you look at her hair being the same shade of red and blue as the box art legendaries from those games, though it could also be because of gen 1, but then it would make more sense if her hair was red and green
She wasn't from Galar, she was sent to Galar for a year after Operation Star.

Not just Brits drink tea, and "cuppa" only exists in the English translation. Not a massive hint in my opinion. (Also, we've had previous protagonists who moved to their regions from somewhere else, at least in Ruby/Sapphire and Sun/Moon, iirc.)

Well that foongus thing is good. Cause then it makes voltorb not just a ball. But a naturally occurring pattern amongst pokemon. Which then inspired the pokeball

I always saw "galar: a history" as a reference to "hogwarts: a history" a class book in the harry potter franchise which also takes place in great Britain
I have a personal theory that mega evolution in a way twists a modern pokemon to resemble its more ancient self. (Legends Arceus pokemon dose not count because in S/V it is said that the paradox pokemon come from a billion year in either the past or future) (Edit: The transformation might be imperfect because it is stated in multiple pokedex entries that mega evolution is super painful for the pokemon such as garchomps wings and claws literally melting to form the scythes)

The backup save data is not new to Scarlet and Violet. It's been there since at least Sword and Shield. Possibly Let's Go. (never tried it there, so don't know for sure.) SWSH, PLA and BDSP all had the backup save data
I ran across a few of these on my own, and had read previously about the removal of Pokerus, but I think half or more of your list was new to me. That's pretty commendable in a youtube list, especially for a game I've already sunk 136 hours into. I'm curious if Pokerus was removed so as to not encourage children to spread viruses.
I'm off to check out your video about hints to the next game. That New Bark Town theme reference (one of the eggs I missed) has me really hoping we might get a Johto Let's Go game.
Thanks for that Foongus entry, it always unsettled me as a child that Foongus copies the same pattern as pokeball. It makes more sense for pokeball to be inspired by foongus as I always thought it should be. My life is complete
My theory for an in universe explanation as to why mega evolution isn't around anymore, is because in the Ultra games the dex entries for mega pokemon say that mega evolution has very negative effects on pokemon so it was banned for use worldwide
I think it might just be because of how rare keystones and mega stones are according to the in-game lore

Yeah, they gave you three main character classmates and then two of them get storylines along with some Mysterious person on the phone. Pretty obvious. But they did a good job making her motivation confusing, and the storyline of the team is good so its fine. =)

I don't know, has it ever been confirmed that there is a timeline doesn't exist? Based on Professor Sycamore's dialog in X&Y, ORAS (at the Megas parts) exist in separate timeline while the Let's Go games are definitely their own universe.
Also in your house there's a picture when you first walk in that preludes to the next Pokemon game at least I think so I could be wrong about preluding to the next Pokemon region but it's interesting

I encountered an overworld tera meowth with flying tera type. I think it is referenced to the meowth hot air balloon of team rocket in the anime.
Let's Go Johto or Legends Gold and Silver would be dope, is it a coincidence that Suicune is gonna get a paradox form? maybe the paradox form is the species of the three pokemon Ho-oh resurrected and when they were resurrected they each took on different shapes to become legendary pokemon.

Honestly I wonder if pokerus was removed not only because raising EVs isn't as hard as it used to be but well... a well known very contagious virus has been going around for the last couple of years so it may have been seen in poor taste to have game mechanic which entire deal with about going out of your way to infect you beloved monsters with a disease lol.
That something is up with Penny isn't too hard to figure out. The only plot twist that could have come as a surprise and an actual twist would be if she turned out to have nothing to do with Team Star at all and was really only there to hand out supplies.

Yeah, it’s in BDSP at least since it’s one of the ways to salvage your game if you get soft-locked in the Snowpoint Gym.

@@nickdentoom1173 there’s a difference, bamboo is native to china. Where as all of Europe has grasslands, forests and windmills. Neither are deserts exclusive to Egypt, they’re everywhere, granted Western Europe isn’t large enough to have a desert but head east or south and guess what deserts. Bamboo forests are uniquely Asian because it comes from china.

Also, the 4 sub-legendaries are very Chinese based. I'd love to see a Chinese region, would be so beautiful. China has some absolutely stunning landscape!
The bamboo connection makes sense but it's said the eastern side of the region is supposed to be China-inspired as are the secret legendaries. I think the east side dlc area will expand more on Chinese influence if not related to Kalos to the northeast

The lack of Pokérus is most likely due to the COVID pandemic. And also, SwSh had the backup save feature too.
My theory is they probably got rid of pokerus after you know what happened in 2020

BTW, backup saves in Pokemon games have existed for a long time. I can't remember if Gen 3 or Gen 4 started it, but it has helped me a couple of times

The history teacher tells you the story about the king obsessed with gold and treasure, link the the legendary ruin pokemon.
Based on how ghost pokemon work I imagine lore wise this king became gimmegoul when he passed on - which is why it's a money grubbing, humanlike, ghost -type pokemon
That's just my speculative head cannon though nothing to confirm this, only things the history teacher says that potentially hint towards it
