    That was SO smooth and delightful. I'm often grateful for my own musical background, but especially at times like these, when it enabled me to pick up on the little tricks you were doing with the timing. Most excellent.

    This is incredibly beautiful. BRAVO, Sir. I love the little habanera reference at the very beginning -- seems a unique touch. The entire arrangement is a joy to hear.

    Hi from the UK. Great stuff Paolo. When I hear you and Seph play separately I realise that you have quite different styles. It is easy to see that steph was influenced Fats Waller and the stride pianists but who were your influences,? You style sounds like it is later than that, maybe Errol Garner?

    • @StephanieTrickPaoloAlderighi
      @StephanieTrickPaoloAlderighi  Před 3 lety +2

      Thanks so much, Jeremy! Yes, you are absolutely right! Erroll Garner has been my major influence! I love his creative style and swing!

      @@StephanieTrickPaoloAlderighi Erroll Garner is someone that probably only jazz fans would know about today, although millions more know his song "Misty". Paolo, you are both a professional jazz pianist and classically trained, I would value your opinion. Do you think it possible that someone could play the way that he did, be as inventive as he was and yet be self taught, have no musical training and not even be able to read music. Do you think that this is true or must be a legend/myth?

    • @StephanieTrickPaoloAlderighi
      @StephanieTrickPaoloAlderighi  Před 3 lety +1

      I think that it is possible although it happens very rarely. Also, I think that Garner had the chance to play with important musicians of his time and learn a lot from them. Even though he didn't have formal lessons, there are different ways for a talented musician to learn music and he certainly was extremely gifted.
